Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I have a standard accessible room with a roll in shower reserved. The only online room request options I have to choose from are : 50’s section, 70’s section and highest floor. I requested 50’s.

Hi all! I will be staying at POP for the first time ever on a 40th Birthday girls trip with my two best friends in Feb! Super excited! We have two preferred rooms and while doing the early check in it asked for which area to request. My options were for the 50s, 60s, 70s or Landscape View . It is just three adults so we don't really need be close to any pools and I doubt we will use the dining hall much. Any suggestions of the best area to request is? (I'm going to also try to read as much as I can but 600 pages on this thread so phew!) Thanks in advance!

Will you be driving to the parks? Or using Disney transportation? If driving I would request with 50's or 70's. If using the busses I'd go with 60's or 70's

Is the original poster still around? The info in the sticky threads need to be update.

Since that is the first thing new people see when they click on this thread, it would be great. :)

I was thinking the same thing. I went back to page 1 looking for something and noticed that there were some errors need to be updated

Nope. OP is no longer active. I believe @scrappinginontario and @HopperFan have talked about starting up an up to date info post but were waiting until all the construction was completed.

OP on this thread has been gone over 3 years. We can not do anything with the others posts to update them. This thread needs to be locked and a new one started.

On this thread below, @scrappinginontario contacted me because OP there was also missing and I had second post ... so she asked if I would help keep info updated regarding renovations on my post, which I did. We both are regular POP visitors, I've stayed about 35+ times, two last year.

She has talked about starting a brand new POP thread, and I believe gathering some photos and info. She was just there and then the holidays so maybe this new year will be able to start one. The plan was to wait until construction was done ... which the rooms are, gondola is not. When I was there in October there was a lot of new equipment and trailers out front so not sure what that meant for construction. She and I are crossing our fingers for a new food court.

I'm staying onsite less and less so I don't want to be one to start it. :hippie:

We are driving to the resort but using the buses to get to the parks! Thanks for the suggestion!!

I am hoping to start a new post. Just trying to figure out the logistics of how to do it re:addings pictures etc. I find it to be hit and miss about pictures being accepted. I will look into this a bit more and try to get a new thread started soon.
I don’t know for sure about this forum, but one thing that usually helps with photos on forums is resizing them yourself before uploading. There’s less issues with glitching with the forum software if it doesn’t have to resize.

That may not be the issue here, but often is especially with photo heavy posts

When do they release the next months recreation calendars? Is there anywhere to get them before the beginning of the month? I was able to find the current months calendar.

Thanks for this tip! I don’t have much experience with this and when I need to do it it’s normally by trial and error. Is there a program you recommend for doing this? Preferred size that seems to work well? Appreciate your suggestion!

I have not heard of it being published prior to the beginning of the month.

We're going to be there the second week of May!! Can't wait!

Has anyone tried the rain shower option in the new showers? I've never used that sort of shower before but it sounds pretty cool!

We always request 50’s at POP. We love the decor and it is a quiet area.

The rain shower option is pretty cool but I didn’t feel like it gave as much pressure as the normal shower head so I only used it at the end of my shower

I love the rainfall shower head! It is one of the things I like most about the renovations to these rooms. As @Haley R mentioned, I thought the other shower head had better water pressure so used that when rinsing my hair and the rain one for the rest of my shower.

I really like the rain shower option at the beginning and end if my shower but use the hand held portion (in its holder) when washing my hair as the water is quite soft at Pop so I need the extra force to get the soap and conditioner out.

You can use any photo editing programme. I use Paint Shop Pro mostly because it’s what I use for my more serious editing. However for just quick resizing I often use the built in windows or Microsoft photo editor.

Best size for forums is 6x4 if you’re sizing by inches, but better is to resize by pixels and that would be 640 x 480. If you have a check box to choose ‘maintain aspect ratio’ use 640 pixels for the long side and it will automatically fill in the other number.

Feel free to pm me and I can help a bit more if you like :)

Hi all I'm staying at POP in February and I was wondering if i can do the early check-in . I'm in Canada so I have to pick up my magic bands from the front desk anyways is there any benefit to checking in this early? :)
