Can someone help me with mco...

I come in on SWA everytime so I am familiar with that.
My mom is coming in on AA about 30 mins after us, baring anyone having delays, and I need to figure out where to meet her. She doesn’t travel much and never alone, so I want to make her as confident as possible. Should I just tell her to take the monorail and then meet me where? I’m not sure which end of the food court she will get off on. I am always at the Hyatt end.

It looks like you'll both arrive in Terminal A, but at opposite airsides, so you wouldn't be able to meet her at her gate. Have her take the train and just meet her at the center of the landside terminal where the food court is.

How is it marked? So once you go through security, there are two train tracks, one going to the left and one to the right. I can't remember which side the priority lounge is, but lets say it's the train to the right. Is the customs train coming back also on that same track? I'm wondering how the customs train prevents you from jumping over to the train on the left. Does the customs train only open one side of the doors when you get back to the main terminal area, so you can't cross over to the train on the left?
PP lounge is airside 1 (gates 1-29). There was a notification on the tv with the trams arrival time about international travelers. One side of the tram opened and the other was blocked off with stanchions. TSA agents were not allowing guests to cross from one tram to the other. It happened the last two times I arrived at MCO. I was exiting to the main terminal and others were being forced to exit and go back through security. They did not seem happy.

1. I can see my CIP SUB pending!
2. DHs big job is talking financing today, so fingers crossed on that.
3. Got all of our tax info in. Seems his useless HR guy has struck again... his federal says married/0 allowances/$63 additional, which is what I got when I ran the IRS withholding calculator last year. As soon as it came back up after the tax changes, I ran it and we resubmitted our W4s on the same day. Though really DHs went first, because I still had to change my name at work so I had to first go through that process which involved waiting on corporate, and then submitting new W4, but my changes went through on my 5/6 paycheck (Literally my 4/22 check had my new name, and 5/6 my new W4 info). DH submitted his way before me.. didn't get changed until his 6/29 paycheck. If I remember correctly he had to fill out a new form. It looks like now that the guy changed his federal info but not state info. Is that a thing? I'm just making a guess, based on his federal being correct but state says single/2 allowances

DIS has been down for me for over an hour. Google Chrome said malware detected. I told you guys I was afraid we’d all lose each other one day :rotfl:
I'm glad it wasn't just me! I was like what the heck, why does it think the site is unsafe???

Marriott Overhauls Cobranded Cards, Last Chance to Grab SPG Amex (or Marriott Biz) - TPG

@Albort alluded to changes coming to the Starriott cards over the weekend, and TPG confirmed major changes to the cards in this article posted today.

Highlights to save you the click (you may want to click anyway as there's a lot of info and new card design art):
  • Amex and Chase are announcing updates to their respective lineups of SPG and Marriott cards. New branding is being announced today, but you won’t see it reflected on Amex and Marriott marketing until mid-February. If you’re an existing card holder, you’ll receive the updated cards starting in March.
  • Cards across both issuers are getting Bonvoy branding and hideous new designs (bonvoy, SPG purple!),
  • Amex SPG personal card will be closed to new applications after 2/12/19, will become the Marriott Bonvoy Amex. The Marriott Bonvoy Amex will retain its existing perks for card holders who are approved before the 2/12/19 cutoff, and the $95 annual fee remains. SPG Amex cardholders will get a new limited-edition card design, with an abstract, city-inspired motif, by artist Tony “Rubin” Sjöman. This design will be available starting in May, and existing card members will automatically receive the new design at that point.
  • SPG Personal spending bonus. For those who opened the SPG Amex before 1/23/19, you can register to earn up to 100,000 bonus points — 25,000 points for every $25,000 you spend on the card, for up to 100,000 points through the end of the year.
  • Marriott Biz will also be ending applications after 2/12/19. Existing cardholders will keep benefits and the same $99 annual fee. The signup bonus will remain 75,000 Marriott points after $3,000 MSR.
  • A new no-fee Marriott Bonvoy card will launch this summer (Chase’s mass consumer card?)
  • Marriott Premier Plus card will be rebranded the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card on 2/28/19. Benefits and annual fee to remain the same. New card design.
  • SPG Lux to be rebranded as the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant. New METAL card design. New $100 luxury credit for eligible stays at St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton properties coming to the SPG Lux and Ritz-Carlton cards on 3/28/19. You must book a stay of two nights or longer and use a special rate code to get the credit; room rates are explicitly excluded.
  • SPG Biz and Marriott Biz. Addition of the ability to earn a second (35k points) free award night on both business cards after spending $60,000/year. Annual fee increase to $125 on the SPG Biz, which is being rebranded as the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex.
  • Limited-time 100,000-point welcome bonuses will be available for the three cards (SPG Lux, SPG Biz, and Marriott Premier Plus) that are remaining open to new applicants beyond February.
  • SPG Lux and SPG Biz will have a 100k Marriott points welcome bonus after $5,000 MSR for signups between 2/13/19 to 4/24/19.
  • Marriott Premier Plus will have a 100k Marriott points signup bonus after $5,000 MSR starting on 2/28/19.
Key Dates:
  • 2/12/19: Last day to sign up for the SPG Amex and the Marriott Biz.
  • 2/13/19: Marriott Bonvoy branding officially live; 100k points offers available on the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Amex (SPG Lux) and Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex (SPG Biz) through 4/24/19.
  • 2/28/19: 100k points offer available on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card (Marriott Premier Plus) from Chase
  • 3/28/19: $100 luxury credit available on Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant (SPG Lux), free night after $60k in spend available on the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex (SPG Biz), Bonvoy Business Amex annual fee increasing to $125
  • 4/24/19: 100,000-point offers end on the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Amex (SPG Lux) and Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex (SPG Biz).
Some personal thoughts:
  • Obviously, FOMO. We knew when news came out that Chase was getting the mass consumer and premium consumer cards, and Amex was getting the small business and super premium consumer cards in a merged Marriott, that meant the Marriott Biz and SPG Personal would at some point no longer fit in Chase's and Amex's lineup and they'd be discontinued. We now have a date. This is your last chance to get the Marriott Biz or SPG Personal cards before they're gone for good after 2/12/19.
  • Remember, effective 8/26/18, new restrictions limit getting Starriott cards across Chase and Amex. You likely have to choose a lane. If you've gotten a Chase Marriott card or bonus in the past 24 months, generally you will be ineligible for Amex's SPG cards, and vice versa. See Navigating Marriott’s Byzantine Credit Card Rules.
  • I'm really debating tempting the Amex RATs and having my wife try for the SPG Personal card before 2/12/19. Last chance at an easy(ish) 75k Marriott points and another 35k FN cert eventually. We'll see if she gets a pop up.
  • It's not clear from the article, but I'm guessing the SPG Biz AF will remain waived for the first year if you apply before 2/13/19, and the $95 AF may possibly be grandfathered in for the second year and increased to $125 AF after that. But if you apply for the SPG Biz before 2/13/19, then you're taking a smaller welcome offer: 75k Marriott points after $3k MSR. From 2/13/19, the SPG Biz becomes the Bonvoy Biz with a 100k Marriott points offer after $5k MSR, but likely with a $125 AF not waived.

We saw this in November. The train designated for the international flights was blocked off. They had international people getting on and off the same side instead of the regular way where it's on in the middle, off on the outside. Too bad my husband had lost his card and we couldn't get in the lounge. I still need to get him a replacement. Before our trip in April for sure!
Does your husband have his online PP login? There is a digital card you can use.

DH had to go to Starbucks last week and I told him to refill his app with his Southwest card for $30 to use the Chase offer. Totally forgot he has 2 new SW cards, He used his biz. Womp womp. Need to number these cards or something. Too many! Totally my fault for not being more specific. Only lost $3, but still $3 is $3!

Still updating.

Hmmm... wonder if I should still get rid of Marriott Biz next month and keep SPG Biz. I guess I won't get the increased AF until next year on SPG Biz.

I'm the one who signed him up in the first place, it came from his CSR, I just got it through the chase site originally. It's weird because he's past his first anniversary and they didn't send him a new one. I know that when my first anniversary was almost up on my CSR, I was sent a new PP card, but I downgraded mine to CF so didn't get to keep the PP on mine. I don't even know how to get an online PP account for him!

I'm feeling stupid...even checked the page 1 glossary....what is SUB?

Catching up, so sorry if it was mentioned already, but from our favorite folks with the Marriott credit cards byzantine rules guide is a new guide on the whole Bonvoy program - what hotels have what breakfast benefit, points earning info, and, of course, the credit card section :)

https://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/marriott-bonvoy-complete-guide/

I thought it was pretty comprehensive and they're still updating as things roll out. I think I may bookmark it so I can stop reading all the goofy fine print in the T&C that's starting to make my head hurt.

I have not had any issue transferring my personal URs to DHs CSR or my biz URs to his CSR. I know some people say to chain them, but I have not done that, I just individually transfer each of my cards to his card. My personal and Biz log ins are separate.
thanks for the DP!

I have the PP app on my phone. Weird, my card with my CSR is good for 3 years. I activated it online and have a digital card in the app and saved to my Apple Wallet.

DP-met my Biz MSR (for SUB) 1/10, paid 1/16, closing statement date 1/17, 74,000 miles in the account deposited sometime between last night (1/22) and today (1/23). I had been expecting them to post 48-72 hours later so was getting worried. Whoo hoo!

I got a nice VB weekender bag from Macy's. Definitely will use it on upcoming trips.
All this VB talk has reminded me to see if it's worth listing an old VB wristlet I have
Blue bayou Fantasmic Dining Package: our reservation time was at 1:45 got seated earlier at about 1:35 and we were out of the restaurant by 2:15. No joke. Wayyyyyy too rushed for a three course meal. The food was good but no way did they cook my food that fast. they just make a bunch of food and it’s probably sitting out. The meal is too expensive for that. Next time we will try River Bell. I did enjoy the butt cushion and the view from the Blue Bayou section is the best so we will probably do it again.
I felt like BB was rush-y last April, which it was not the two previous trips we'd taken. And our waitress went on her dinner break right after taking our order, which is fine, but the other person who was supposed to check on us when she did... did not.
new card design art
Funky...
SPG Lux to be rebranded as the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant. New METAL design.
But really, why did they not just wait 6 months to launch this card? I mean, it was better for us, but...
Annual fee increase to $125 on the SPG Biz, which is being rebranded as the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex.
:badpc:

I was pretty decided on dumping SPG personals and Marriott personal and keeping SPG Biz cards, for now. But I don't want to pay an extra $30 lol
I'm feeling stupid...even checked the page 1 glossary....what is SUB?
Ha, it was mainly a joke since some have been joking we should add SUB for sign up bonus to the glossary :)

I hate credit cards, don't know why. It's better for me to get a loan, so I just do it online. Credit cards are a good option but I think that loan is much more safe.

If you need to borrow money, I agree. Sometimes a 0% APR is all you need for a small purchase, but otherwise it's probably safer with the loan. However, that's not we do on this thread :) No one here, that I'm aware of, is leaving a balance on the cards they use that will earn interest; we avoid interest charges and unnecessary fees. We just put purchases that we need to pay for anyway on credit cards to earn the extra rewards - either points or cash - rather than using cash/check/debit in order to fund our travel (mostly to Disney of course!). And that's why we love credit cards so much :)

It can be a lucrative game if you play correctly, but I understand that it's not for everyone.

Just got 40k mr points for upgrading my amex to rose gold. However, they seem to have made a mistake on crediting my statement for the 20% dining credit. Something under $5 is not 20% of $300. I guess I'll have to call.
