Disney Gift Card Deals

Can you further explain the Dis Member's referral and the benefits of the Chase Disney Visa? I have seen it advertised but didn't know the ins-and-outs benefits especially for purchases of DGC at Sam's.
Sure! I’ve been a Disney Visa owner for a while, and I received an offer to refer friends and family to the Chase Disney Visa. If they spend $500 in the first three months, they earn a bonus $200 in addition to the 1% they already earn. I earn a $100 bonus.

I referred my husband, and then I linked that card to my Dosh account. I used that card (when it came in the mail) to purchase a Sams gift card at Sams. I used the Sams gift card online at Sams Club too purchase Disney gift cards because the $142.99 for $150 DGC is a slightly better deal than what I had in club.

Then when the DGC come, I pay my package reservation online. if I don’t have a package, I save them for our next trip!

I like to combine my DGC on the Disney gift card website, but that’s a personal preference.

I've received numerous mailing with the $250 bonuses for signing up for the Chase Disney Visa and the spend $500 in 3 months. Is this the same card? Does Chase offer better everyday rewards than my Barclay MC Arrival+ (2X everything) or AmEx Blue card (6% on groceries)? I use the consolidation feature at DisneyGiftCard.com all the time, love it. Pay my DVC dues with GCs.

For those taking Visa/MCGCs to Best Buy for the Swagbucks deal, there's no reason to register them first, right? Only if trying to use online?

I haven’t seen a $250 bonus for the no annual fee card in a long time, but yes, I would assume it’s the same card or the bigger bonus is for the Disney Premier Visa with the annual fee.

No, the Disney Visa doesn’t offer better cards than the ones you mentioned. However, I do like that there is a special Disney Visa meet and greet and that I save 10% at the Disney Store when I use my Disney Visa.

Thank you for the information. I'm going to investigate this card .

I just joined Swagbucks, but I'm still figuring it out. I initially thought it was just a site to do surveys and earn money/gift cards. Either I'm not looking in the right place on doctorofcredit.com, or I'm not finding it particularly helpful.

I check DoC daily to see new offers, not all apply to me but several have. The replies are key if you have time. I tend to buy only Visa gc's and not MC. I personally had $50 MC drained. He also lists ShopRite deals which can help you save. All the little things you can do adds to big savings overall without a lot of hassle.

The I Love Credit card thread is a MUST read! Love that thread!

Didn't notice this above, Giant Eagle has 2x fuel rewards on gift cards through 2/27/19.

We haven't done it before, but decided to try to double up a bit. We got three Visa cards (they sell them up to $200), then used those to get Disney cards. If you max out the 30 gallons (we do), that works out to a little over a 20% discount even factoring in the fee on the Visa card. We also used our Disney visa to buy the Visa cards, so that'll add towards our redemption card. So essentially a little over 21% off.

That is the card with the annual fee. The $200 credit after $500 spend is only available through referral (which is not allowed here on the DIS). Neither Disney card is as good at earning rewards as the cards you have.

Ugh I know this is a dumb question, but what is the website that you can purchase gift cards. Any store giftcards.
Giftcardmall has many. They are not discounted, but sometimes they run specials and they are on several cash back shopping portals. Raise sells discounted cards. I primarily buy virtual ones from them though because twice I received physical cards that had a zero balance. I got my money back, but who wants to deal with that. Also, I buy cards that I can use right away or those that can be transferred to another card. There is so much fraud and balances disappear.

Agree whole hardheartedly.

Yes, I never bother to register them when using them at Best Buy - there is no reason to do that and it is just a waste of time. However, when buying them from Staples online, you must activate them before using them.

I've never bought gift cards from Kroger . com but let's say I don't live in a state or near one and I don't have a rewards card, can outsiders still get in on the action?

I thought there was away around that. And what gas station would someone use instead? I do believe the 4x Fuel would work, I remember seeing a banner online.

You can put in your phone number you would use with your account and it will credit the 4x fuel points, it just won't code as grocery on your credit card. I'm not sure about gas stations.

Kroger owns a lot of different stores all over the country in different regions. Check and see if one is in your area and if they’re doing this deal

I know YMMV but when I tried to use my activated Visa GC (that I purchased through Staples) at Best Buy for a $100 disney gift card, it wouldn't let me run it as credit. I would have had to use the PIN that was provided with it. I didn't do it because I was pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten the swagbucks for it so I just used my debit card and ran it as credit with no issues. This sort of surprised me. Has this happened to anyone else?

I shop at Kroger all the time. I was asking if anyone else had purchased through this method as I believe it is possible, I'm trying to get data points to help fellow DISer's. :flower3:
