How did people do with line holders? For instance, if I got to the park EARLY (like during the night), and DH brought the kids at a more reasonable time, around 5am, would we be evil eyed all the way?

no, we did this all the time during SWW. We would arrive very early, sometimes midnight and camp out, another adult with the kids would show up around 5:30am, back then everyone needed to be in line by 6:30am to get wristbanded for celebrity autographs (which is what the line was for)
True SW fans understand and this is done basically in all big conventions, the average fan might not be so nice but then again the average fan might not be making a line at midnight

I have great pics from the SWW in 2015. I had an AP that year and came 11 times throughout the year (lived 7 hours away). We loved SWW so much we came twice to experience it. I'm so glad we did. My kids were so little they probably don't remember it at all.

I miss these events so much too. I’m so glad we made it to the last weekend they ever had. Frank Thomas was great to listen to. My son had a blast eating lunch that day with greedo. They were great great times.

In this land absolutely not. I don't think he will ever be back. LucasFilm is the one who shut down the Disney Star Wars mashups.

Had Disney purchased Lucasfilm when that decision was made? I'd wager House of Mouse has final say now...

Yes this was a post SWW decision. LucasFilm and Kathleen Kennedy shot it down. They have that say when it comes to how things are done in the parks. Park ops has to follow that.

I thought that with the mad rush yesterday, all the hotels will be sold out today. But there's still plenty of availability for September. Maybe it won't be as crazy as anticipated.

I got to Pandora at 5:30am on opening day and was not the first one, had about 300 people ahead of me

Seriously?? I obviously missed that discussion. So they lined up the night before?!

I guess I don’t get it. I mean, for Metallica/GnR tix, sure, but...

Did anyone who arrived at more like 6am NOT get in the land and ride the attractions? I assume they were able to.

I know SWGW will be worse, though...

I wouldn’t count on that!! This is just a day after announcements and 5.5ish months out. And they have a tremendous amount of hotel stock, and this was otherwise going to be a light crowd period.

Parking lots technically never close.

My flight doesn't land until 8am on the 29th, so I switched my flights and got a room only room in the same category at YC for the 28th, hopefully they will let us stay in the room. I will line up at midnight or whatever and the kids can sleep in
