Maximizing my cold. Figure with my cold I could call into Hilton as DH and they would not be the wiser. Beats trying to lower my voice :rotfl2:

Need to straighten out his acct as he has points on Amex but I can’t find Hilton acct login info.

Another Hilton question. Can you combine points easily? I thought I read combining spouse points to be free.

Hilton lets you do Points Pooling, where several members contribute points to a pool, or direct person-to-person transfers. Both are subject to a limit of 500k points sent and 2 million points received per calendar year.

When you log into DH's Hilton account, in the side menu under My Points, click More Ways to Use Points, then click Transfer Your Points. Select the number of points you want to transfer, in 1,000 points increments, up to 500k, enter your DH's first name, last name, HH number, and email. That's it. It can take ~24 hours for the transfer to complete.

Here's the fine print:

Hilton Honors Members can transfer Hilton Honors Points to another Hilton Honors Member through Points Pooling or 1-to-1 transfer in increments of 1,000 Points and up to 500,000 Points. Each Hilton Honors Member is limited to sending no more than five hundred thousand (500,000) Points and receiving two million (2,000,000) Points via Points Pooling or Transfers combined per calendar year. Each Hilton Honors Member is limited to making six (6) transfers to other member accounts and six (6) Hilton Points Pooling transactions per calendar year. Invitations to join a Points Pool is not considered transactional. Transactions refer to the transfer of Points to another member account either through 1-to-1 account transfers or through Points Pooling.

Any points beyond these limits will not be posted to any Member's account. Limits are at the sole discretion of Hilton Honors Worldwide L.L.C., subject to change.

A new Hilton Honors Member can pool, transfer, or receive Points 30 days after enrollment providing they have activity on their account. After 90 days of enrollment, a new Member is eligible to pool, transfer, or receive Points regardless of their account activity.

Good luck getting DH's account straightened out.

We own with Wyndham and a travel trailer. Our big trip next summer is going to be out east with the trailer and a couple of nights at the Hilton Niagra Falls. I believe DH is sold on another Disneyland trip using Frontier free flights (or a really good cash deal) and using our Hilton points to stay 5 nights. We typically stay at DVC in Disneyworld with a RCI exchange. At this point, I'm just hording points for future trips, too. I have the spend right now, so I want to maximize that money wisely. :) What cards are your personal favorites?

My personal favorite is my Amex rose Gold card. I also like my Costco Citi Visa as I do a lot of Costco shopping. After that, I like the Chase Freedom and Hyatt cards plus I like my BOA Amtrak card. I'm getting the Navy Federal Flagship rewards and it will be a good card for me also.

There are a lot of cards that I would like to have, but those above are cards I have in hand right now. In the far distant future I will acquire more UR cards and some Amex cards possibly just for the bonus.

The cards I 'like' are not sock drawered. I like quite a few hotel cards and have 8 of them that are pretty much sock drawered, but I will keep them for the free night certificates.

So this upgrade would be your second Aspire? You are living the dream!

Not the OP, but was trying to follow her postings and I don't think she has an Aspire yet. I could be wrong. I read a post just now a few pages back that said she got the 'Ascend' in 2017 and was also an authorized user on her player 2's ascend. She may come back to clarify.

Thanks for the reply! I've had the Aspire for a year and a half now, and I really like it.

@Judique Ibthink you may be right. @wed100105 the Aspire wasn’t available until January of last year so it has not been out for a year and a half. I am also working on 2 Aspire cards. It’s my favorite card that I don’t use.

I think the shutdowns occur for those that get too many cards too fast. For example, you are trying to decide between 3-4 cards and are carefully weighing you decision for which card to get. Somebody else might get all 3-4 cards in a few months. They would likely be shutdown. Most of us here are relatively slow churners. We tell people to pace about 3 months in between Chase cards. If you do that, you should be good.

Is that 3-4 month time frame recommended if you're doing business as well as personal cards?

I got my last business towards the end of Feb. But my last personal goes back to Aug 2017. Looking to get another personal very soon.

You need to book slinky first on the farthest day out. Then FOP next, then Mine Train. Has worked for me every time.
You'll be fine, especially for a September trip. Make sure you have MDE up on your phone and tablet at 6:55am and as soon as clock hits 7:00am keep refreshing. Use whichever is faster.

Is there a reason we shouldn't use the computer? We're going to be making our first-ever FP+ reservations soon.:o
