Do you have to actually sail within 2 yrs of buying a placeholder or just book a cruise within the 2 yrs?
The sail date must be within the 2 year window or you lose the benefits.Do you have to actually sail within 2 yrs of buying a placeholder or just book a cruise within the 2 yrs?
Indeed, the rule changed not more than 5 years ago. They are known for not making exceptions even for a few days. That’s why a lot of guests book the placeholder on the last day of the cruise. You have to start the cruise within 2 years of purchasing the placeholder. (Apparently you used to have to complete the cruise within 2 years; now you just have to start it within 2 years.) I don't recall anyone reporting getting an exception to the 2 year rule. (If they bend the rules for one person, 5,000 people will be calling the next day.)
