I’ve been to San Diego and Coronado a few times without a car. Coronado has plenty to do/see just walking and there’s good public transportation. There’s also an inexpensive ferry to go to San Diego. San Diego without a car isn’t as easy as Coronado, but it’s doable if you plan well. I always get a hotel that’s within walking distance of my primary activities. There’s also a hop-on/off trolley tour that I did on one visit which got me over to Balboa Park from the Gaslamp District where I was staying.Do any of you visit San Diego frequently withOUT a vehicle? We usually drive or ride but we can fly in (thanks, AA miles that I won't be using elsewhere) for super "cheap" AA redemptions. Just wondering how much we can expect to do/see without a vehicle. Sort of a new experience for us.
We are looking at January, so super low season. If we go, it'll be sort of nice to not have a vehicle and be dealing with Southern California freeways...
$$$/.0125 CIP
$$$/.015 CSR
Thanks for laying it out for me!Your formula is correct (1/1.25 = 0.80, 1/1.5 = 0.667). Since you already have the CIP, I'll assume the AF is a sunk cost. So the question is if the $150 effective AF to upgrade to CSR is worth it. That's assuming you can use the $300 travel credit easily. Break even point comparing 1.25 vs 1.5 to recoup $150 is $1125 in redemptions through the portal. Disregarding everything else that comes with the CSR (TSA/Global entry, Priority Pass, etc).
Yes - cross-support is always advised and your plan will work as outlined.
We tried T-Mobile last year and even with brand new phones the service was not good so we switched back to Verizon. My major complaint was that it took multiple hours and phone calls to have the account closed. During the multiple hours spent on phone calls I was always assured it was closed only to be sent another bill. The customer service representatives were always kind and apologetic which was nice but it was extremely frustrating to have to spend so much time on something that should have been a simple fix. In the end I was given a complete refund but I would suggest you check service in your area from someone that already has T-Mobile if possible (I was told by T-Mobile that service in my area was fine and everyone I know has Verizon) first so hopefully you don’t have to cancel.Does anyone have T-Mobile? Wondering if they are any good.

We switched from Verizon to T-Mobile in August. The map showed that we "should" be okay. We found that we dropped calls all the time. We also couldn't use our phones inside of places like work and the grocery store. They have FABULOUS customer service, though and great prices. It was really hard to leave them even though we really couldn't use our phones very efficiently. We ended up leaving them in October for AT&T and it was all painless (the T-Mobile part was painless). We do live in a very rural area though.Does anyone have T-Mobile? Wondering if they are any good.
We were at USO in September on a Monday and Tuesday. My sister had never been able to experience Early Entry so on Monday we went to US for Harry Potter then got donuts at Voodoo and entered through IOA turnstiles right after they opened and slowly made our way to Hagrid's. We ended up in line for about 2 hours. A lot of that had to do with the ride breaking down continuously. It really wasn't bad being in line that long. We were able to see all the theming which was well done. Tuesday morning we left Royal Pacific an hour before IOA opened and there were about 12 people in front of us at our turnstile. They did not open the turnstiles until the actual park opening that day (9AM). When people clear the turnstiles they sprint for Hagrid's. Luckily we are all in good shape and were able to do the same. We ended up walking on Hagrid's and were off the ride at 9:13. My advice would be get to the turnstiles as early as possible and don't bring anything with you that you would have to put in a locker. The lockers can really slow you down. I went ahead with my boys and my sister got a locker - she caught up with us right when we were lining up to board. We found that by early afternoon the wait was at the max and by mid afternoon they weren't taking any additional riders. It is a fabulous ride and well worth the effort. I am not a fan of roller coasters and I thoroughly enjoyed it.Quick, question for the USO people, @amalone1013 , @Alexle2007 and anyone else. Friend is going to USO for 2 days next week. Friday after breakfast at Chef Mickey’s, then Saturday. He wants to know best way to get on Hagrid’s. He will be staying onsite. Any tips?
CongratsApplied for the SW Preferred Biz card this morning using DH's support link, got the "we need more time" message. I called the status line about 5 minutes later and was shocked to hear "you've been approved!" Not sure what they did in that 5 minutes but just happy to be approved! I was even wondering if maybe it hadn't registered the new app yet, and the message was from my last app 3 months ago, but the credit limit was different so pretty sure it's not. CP here we come (hopefully)!
Oh, and the best offer- PF Chang’s- Spend $50, get $10! That one will easily get used at our house.

I also remember that discussion, but I don't think anything came out of it. I looked around before my last app and didn't see anything either.I remember it discussed here but I can't find it on reddit. Is there a spot for those of us that are P1's to swap? I want to make sure I post in the right spot.
Well we certainly saw what can happen if the Benevolent Dictator goes away for a few days...
Also, his “benevolency” requests that you always use the word Benevolent in conjunction with the word Dictator... I don’t want anybody thinking that I rule with a reign of terror!
I saw this on the points guy it's targeted why not go for it.I'm not sure if this has been discussed here before but the other day I got an email from AMEX with the title "Insider offer: It's time for an upgrade." The email said this:
Receive a complimentary upgrade to the top tier of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® program, President's Circle®.
Enjoy elite member status for 6 months when you register below and complete a $250 rental using your eligible enrolled American Express® Card by 12/31/19. Enroll in Gold Plus Rewards on the registration page to redeem offer. Terms apply*.
Here's the strange thing... I entered the unique code they gave me then today, I got an email that I was upgraded to President's Circle without making a rental. One of the perks that I'm really interested in is getting CLEAR for 4 months, free!
Anyone else get this email?
