I agree about the four keys !!!!
Plus I really think guests like when they see a cm get excited about something ... Love for Disney, is almost contagious !!!!
When my baby girl was a cp last year by the time she paid for food, taxes and lodging in the Disney college apartments (8 girls to a 2 bedroom) she took home about 2 dollars an hour so I don’t think those kids could afford to buy a one day ticket to get a chance to ride (that is if they could even get off during the holidays ... my baby did a 16 hr shift on the 4th of July so you can imagine it’s difficult)
I really hope Disney can get those cms and cos a chance to be happy too.
I know Disney is company but i hate the idea of it becoming a company that only cares about making a BUCK !!!!

Less people per hour if its less per BG. Having not been on it yet until next week...from what I can see people do some walking within the ride, so that can very hourly capacity (how fast people move or kids start having issues, etc)... It allows an evac to be less people if there is an issue. Since once they release a BG not everyone is going to show up on the spot, so having less people means less trickle within the two hour window as they progress the BG numbers up. Plus once the BGs are called and the line fills, the more people in a BG the bigger the line is outside the ride to get in. Also since they know their ride capacity, this could allow them to actually finish all BGs before park closing, fit in some standbys towards the park closing and not have angry people that showed up before park closing only to get a FP or Park Hopper.
So then theoretically if they pare the size of each BG down to a more manageable level, then eventually, perhaps even over the course of this week, they can start ramping up the number of BGs they release until they're back over the capacity they were getting from the earlier, larger BGs?

I get the black out periods in general but would be nice if they gave all CMs like one FP to ride the ride at some point or let them ride during the EMH when it is closed to guests or something so they at least get one once
it has to be on their own time, and since they are blacked out they can't really come into the park even if they had a fp.
SWGE CM are not allowed to bring extra clothes and change backstage and then come on stage in regular clothes, so it wouldn't work.

Wow, that is strict. Are park cm generally allowed to have a change of clothes and go into the park they’re working that day to do whatever they want before or after their shift? Granted, most will be too tired most days to even want to do that- or at least tired of being in the park.

Well, I don't know the exact logistics to make it work but something that would let them get to ride once would be nice

yeah, many do. They finish their shifts and stay in the park. Unless the park is blocked out, then if they are caught doing so it could be termination.
But for SWGE no CM can come from a backstage area to an onstage area in regular clothes.

I believe cms are suppose to end their shift, exit and re-enter with their main gate under employee self admit but I could be wrong.

Correct. But many just change and stay, anyways, don't want to keep diverting the topic of the thread.
In short a better informed cm will be able to be more helpful to guests.

no :( not only that but CM are blocked out from DHS for the next 3 months so if they don't have an AP or buy a day ticket they won't be able to ride it
The only CM that have gone on it are RotR CM
That really, really stinks. For the reasons you list as well as the fact that the best way to cultivate employees who are passionate about their jobs, especially when things are challenging, is to show them you care about them. One surefire way to make them care in this case (obviously challenging for all of them) is to say, "Hey, all, here's what we're all working so hard to create and to show people. You're part of this, we couldn't do it without you. Enjoy, and thank you."

Overall a pretty good day for the ride.
Glad to see it's improving. Obviously the ride still has issues. So, do we know how how/if this is being worked on?

I mean, are engineers on site actively working on the ride each night? Or are CMs just trying to make it thru each day as people offsite try to figure out what to do adjust/fix some time in the future?

Just curious if today's improvement is just a fluke, or due to active nightly work, which could mean we could see improvements as each day goes by.

(I've been following this day to day, and am curious what, if any, effect this will have on the DL version of RotR).

If any CM is sitting on comps that expire on the 13th, this is the opportunity to use them up! (Or winter/spring if they wanted to)

Well, apparently this isn't an improvement, just a lateral shift. The Boarding Groups still went in the same amount of time, which means there were probably just as few (if not fewer) people riding today as there always have been. But I guess if Disney was trying to boost its numbers of a visual standpoint, it works from that angle.

I'm hoping they've found that this BG size is optimal so that they can start adding more per day rather than more people per group, and hopefully get closer to the allegedly much higher capacity the ride is capable of by Sunday. Or else Sunday is going to be another awful day for anyone trying to get into the ride.

Well, I just got a call from my very excited DD, basically screaming on the phone :)
Her coordinator at MFSR managed to get groups of 16 cm, on their 30 min breaks and got them to ride the second portion of rotr. She was so happy :)
We're still going Wednesday so she can experience the whole thing, but she didn't know anything about the ride and she was blown away
