Security at toy story parking lot?

Anyone know what’s going on with it? We’re visiting in a couple weeks and staying near the toy story parking lot. Sorry if it’s been addressed recently. I’m having trouble using the search function on the website. Thank you.

The new bag check/security station at the TS lot. When it opens, guests will be able to go through bag check before boarding the TS buses and heading for the parks.

Is the Toy Story lot not recommended? We are planning on using that lot for our 5 day trip. Is there a better option?

I almost always park at Toy Story. I think a lot depends on which direction you’re coming from in terms of what’s closer/easier to get to... the big structures are the other option.

A few years ago, I made a point of alternating lots when I visited and tracked my time from “garage to park entrance,” and for me, Toy Story was consistently faster. I also prefer the orderly line for busses rather than the tram free-for-all, especially at the end of the day.

I’m going to see how it shakes out when security changes to in the lot and reevaluate if needed, but for now, I very much prefer the Toy Story lot.

If I go for rope drop, I will do the structure. Usually when I do rope drop, I don’t stay past fireworks. So getting out isn’t bad.
If I come in the middle of the day, during the morning rush, or stay past fireworks I park in Toy Story. The busses are much more orderly at the end of the day than the shuttle. The only gamble is the harbor security area.

TS usually isn't bad, and lots of guests prefer to park there. But when you are used to parking at M&F and you get detoured to TS with no advance notice? That can be a very frustrating and time consuming experience!

That’s part of the reason why if I come midday, I just go right to toy story. Those detours can add an extra hour to the parking experience

And when you've already been holding your bladder, that detour to Toy Story where there is no restroom and then waiting for a bus to take you to a line at security is a real disaster.

I saw on Facebook that they are doing security at the toy story lot Today. Not sure if it’s permanent or if it’s because it’s very crowded and can alleviate the harbor entrance some.

Watching with curiosity. How are the pre-screened guests going to bypass security on Harbor? How are they going to keep unscreened guests out of that queue/area? The shuttles (ART) pick up in the same area that the TS busses drop off.

They had put up barriers halfway up the drop-off zone, so I am guessing they only drop off Toy Story where they used to pick up?

Maybe they’re doing something totally different. Hopefully someone will have pictures/reports soon!

I'll be there starting tomorrow and always use TS. So if they're still using it and no one else reports back today, I'll report back with info tomorrow

Really intrigued and hoping they are still using this tomorrow so I can check it out!
