Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

I have stayed at POFQ many times and for years my numerous visits were acknowledged always at check-in and often by a thank you note delivered to room thanking us for returning “home”. I noticed that the last visit and this visit (we are currently at the POFQ) there has been no acknowledgement of any kind so not sure if they no longer make the gesture or we have done something wrong....also this visit is my birthday and they definitely used to deliver a birthday card to the room. I was given a birthday button at check in.

They definitely still do those things, but not every time. They like to make it special, not expected.

Is anyone currently there who could please take a picture of the food items in the store - specifically large sized PB & Jams, cereal & crackers? Trying to decide if i can avoid a grocery order when i just need a few things for the middle of the night rumblies! Don't care about prices, just need to see labels so i can check ingredients!

I think I found my new favorite resort! We've always stayed at the values, but now that we're empty nesters with slightly more spending money, I am ready to step up. We were at WDW a few weeks ago, and on a non-park day we decided to leave Disney Springs and take the boat down the river, got off at POFQ and fell in love instantly. Such a huge step up from the values! Loved the architecture & the size. We tried booking our 2020 stay with the bounceback offer but after several attempts we gave up (none of our dates were available). Just thought I'd share my excitement!
If you stay there once, you will be hooked.

My husband and I will be at POFQ next Sunday, 12/8, and I'm getting ready to start packing. Can someone please let me know the current toiletry situation - i.e., shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower? small bottles of body lotion? Also, are the toiletries the Grapefruit Bergamot H2O product?
Many thanks!
Sea salt for the body wash. Sea Marine for the shampoo and conditioner.

We too love POFQ...we love the size of the resort, the food court never seems busy, the CM are always cheerful and we LOVE the Coke Freestyle machines!!!!! We have stayed at POFQ many times and have been unsuccessful in being able to book a bounceback offer for our next stay as we require an accessible room. We have been lucky with general public or AP discounts so keep an eye on the offers for your future stay.

Surprised there is no freezer section. Would like to use ice packs to keep lunch cool at the parks.

Can anyone who is there now confirm which refillable mugs they currently have for purchase in the food court? I’m wondering if the new Star Wars mugs have made there way over to POFQ yet.

Yep, often noted here that there is no freezer section. Would be nice if there were. I am finding that more and more at any hotel we visit. I partly understand as way too often the freezer sections were solid frost.

Do POR and FQ share a bus stop at Magic Kingdom? I seem to remember that they do at AK and HS, but I am very curious if they share coming back to the resort from MK after park closing?

Has anyone been in the New scat cat club. How is the Atmosphere? Is it Kid friendly?

I have switched my resort for the last time. We were originally booked at POR but when I told my youngest that they have a freestyle machine at french quarter he asked if we could switch resorts. We are doing the free dining offer and I doubted we could switch but they still had availability for our dates. We were able to switch over and get a river view room and saved about $100 on the trip. I think it's a win. I wasn't really excited that all the preferred rooms at POR had the trundle bed as we won't need it for this trip and honestly I found the renovated rooms to look slightly bland. I am thrilled with the decision to move over to POFQ. It looks like a lovely resort. We usually stay at Fort Wilderness or CBR and I am looking forward to checking out a new resort. I am assuming the walk from the river rooms to the bus isn't that far.

Literally nowhere is far. Especially compared with other resorts.

No the walk from the River rooms to the buses are not too far.
I’d request building 5 or 6. :)

Everything I am reading sounds like it will be perfect. Our youngest son is autistic and sometimes get overwhelmed by crowds and lots of walking, so breaks at a smaller resort sounds like it will be wonderful for him.

I think you’ll love it, it’s small but not crowded, the grounds are beautiful, the theming so fun. We’ve absolutely fallen in love with it. My next trip is solo so I have to do it a bit more cheaply so I will be trying Pop for the first time, but I will miss FQ

I have often said that POFQ is the perfect place to come back to after the overstimulation of the parks. It is quiet and peaceful. You just want to take a deep breath and say "Ahhhh" when step out the doors from registration onto the property.

We where there our first night. Omg so much fun! The wait staff was very good, booze beignets and drinks were very good and the entertainment excellent. The singer was wonderful with both adults and kids, great with the kids. Atmosphere was relaxing, not loud but livelywith the entertainers . The only reason we only went once is because we only had one night at the resort. If we stayed our whole trip, we would have gone every night.
