Anyone been to the parks with a cooler since the no ice rule started? Just wondering if the ban was just for loose ice and if you can bring a zip lock bag of ice in a cooler in? I don't suppose so, every trip we have taken a cooler of water bottles filled with ice in and just trying to figure out what we'll do for this summer.
The ban is for loose ice since they can’t dig through it. I believe zip lock bags are fine. We regularly take frozen water bottles.

Finally spent some time to look and found some answers...

@Haley R we did our baby moon at Amelia Island in Florida and loved it! We did a cool boat ride and walked around their downtown area which is super cute. Savannah is also amazing

We celebrated our 25th at the Ritz on Amelia Island and had such a great time! Such a nice downtown area. They sent up gifts for my DH bday and our anniversary. It is very beach centric though.

@Haley R We also used our Aspire credit at the St Augustine Hilton Garden Inn which was new and very nice. Cute town for a night or two. Not sure if you have the Aspire.

Also loved seeing the manatees north of Orlando (Blue Springs National Park).

Finally got FNC on DH AMEX Bonvoy Biz. Anniversary was in October. Not sure exactly when it showed up, but it expires 1/2/2021 so probably was yesterday.

I just checked my July reservations and still at the 25k I booked at prior to peak pricing. So far not bonvoyed 🤞

I don't mind going to the beach. We just aren't the type to lay out a towel and sit all day. We'll go for an hour and be done. Our beach here isn't touristy, though. I think it's more natural without all of the hotels and restaurants right on the beach. So maybe a beach with more to do would be better for us.

We don't have an Aspire. We actually visited St. Augustine recently. It's a really cool town! I added Blue Springs National Park to my list. I'm leaning towards doing something with manatees. I'm not sure what Dh wants to do. I'm sure his answer will be "whatever's the cheapest" lol

I wasn't referring to homeschooled kids just kids, in general, these days. They're very tech-savvy but much more sheltered then I was as a child. At least that's what I've noticed with my kids and my nieces and nephews. Their social skills are more tied to social media sites than actual interaction with other humans.
That makes sense! You are 100% right there. I find kids very sheltered today also and it's concerning :(

I still think my teens are very well prepared for life but we've worked hard to raise them more like how we were raised...getting jobs at 16yo, buying their own cars, requiring weekly time spent volunteering, making actual telephone calls

Telephone calls?

This mama means business :rotfl2:
I absolutely hate calling on the phone and it's gotten even worse since I've moved to Florida. Idk if it's just where we live, but no one answers their damn phones and if you leave a message they don't call you back! I'm talking about businesses, too, not personal phone calls. If I ever want something from my doctor I just go in person. We've had a pool cleaning service since we got here (June) and still haven't been billed. We tried calling and they never answered. So I'm waiting for that giant bill to come through.

Seems like there's some shenanigans going on with Marriott this week and people should keep an eye on their ressies.
Shenanigans, indeed! I was Bonvoyed as well yesterday. I have a reservation this Tuesday for two nights, paid on cash, for which I received a confirmation a few weeks ago.

Yesterday I received an email confirmation for ONE night. Fortunately when I called the hotel they were able to fix it. It's for Disneyland Fairfield Inn, so if it had been June instead of January I am sure I would have been SOL.

How does this even happen? Also, all the notes the CSR attached to the original reservation had disappeared, like room request, late check out, etc. This is my first solo Disney visit so nothing better get in the way of my fun! YOU LISTENING TO ME MARRIOTT???

I remember you saying that about your OB. I find that ludicrous and I've never encountered that here ever. I wouldn't know what to make of that.

Ok Marriott, we managed to survive Y2K but somehow 2020 presents a problem for you??

Idk if it’s people stuck in permanent vacation mode or bad work ethic. It’s really quite terrible. We have a guy that does pest control in our yard and fertilizer. When we moved here we tried calling to tell him we wanted to continue the service from the previous owner. Never answered until 4 months later when he left a bill on our doorstep.

Well, I did. Dh decided he wouldn’t mind tagging along for the trip next week.(Next week!) Now, our trip for 2 is a trip for 5!
I drained my SW points, used my Amex gold credit for EBCI and used More URs to cover a minivan vs compact. Our California Grill adr is cancelled and replaced with Crystal Palace. I was actually about to score a few fast passes for Dh and DS around the same times as my FPs.

Very nervous the crowds will make Dh miserable andI’ll regret this choice but I am so happy my whole family will be there to celebrate if I run the half marathon. (Not sure how thats going to go since the weather is calling for high heat and humidity and I’ve been sick all week)

This is my celebrate life trip. No crowds or toddler meltdowns are ruining my trip! One month ago I was crying while meeting with liver transplant teams and now in a week I get to stay in two of my dream Disney resorts with my family. So grateful and excited.(Also very grateful for my Points! No way would I have paid for the flights if I didn’t have the points. They were over double what I paid for DD and myself)

I just got signed up with a pest control company. Had a raccoon in the attic, $800 later he's still stalking me. The guy put a live trap in the attic, sealed all the openings fixed all the soffit damage from him either breaking in or falling through. My Ring spotlight cam caught him walking down the sidewalk between my front door and the driveway. More soffit damage the next day but still nothing in the trap so I guess he's still trying to get back in. At least it's not a tree rat which I hear is another attic concern, I prefer my rats on the ground thank you. Critters in the attic aside, loved the time there was too short but heading back on the 18th :)
My pool guy has been there like clockwork, the lawn guy I'm not so sure about. The grass wasn't long but I'm not sure how much it grows in the winter. How often does your lawn need mowing?

Today's Bonvoyed moment #5595591
"My Reservation i booked was for 4 nights @15000 points per night(offpeak). Today, i received a cancellation of that reservation and a new reservation confirmation email of 4 nights @20000 points per night(peak rate)"
This is infuriating. I can’t believe Marriott is allowing those practices. What a shady business model.

I “bought” priority boarding for my flight home and we got A4 and A5. Exit row here we come! Dd has a24 from ebci. Hoping no one asks for the third seat (on the way down she boarded first and got row 10 and ds and I were b2 and b3 and b1 (middle age guy) tried to sit next to her.
