They’re not typically as crowded as Candlelight Processionals and you have a better chance with standby. I think it also really depends on who you want to see out of the lineup.
I’m wanting to see Daughtry who’s new this year so I’m not sure what to expect. I feel like I should probably just book a dining package. It looks like they aren’t charging up front. There aren’t very many restaurants to choose from though. I’m not sure if I’ll even feel up to going that soon after having the baby but I’d like to try

He might draw a large crowd after his 2nd place finish on The Masked Singer!

I have been to a few of them every year for the last 3 or 4 years and have never had a dining package. Perhaps I wasn’t at the most popular ones or I just got lucky. The only one that I actually stood in line for was Dennis DeYoung, The rest we just walked in and sat down. I will be there in March and plan to go to Starship, not sure about Simple Plan. Wish Daughtry was playing when I am going.
Daughtry is who I want to see. I figured maybe I should go ahead and book a package since they aren’t charging up front. It’s possible I won’t feel up to going anyway

We decided to modify our spring break trip - we can't be away for as long as we had hoped, so we are only going to Austria (dropping the Portugal part of the trip). Notes about changing our award travel with United - it was HUCA city, but all worked out in the end.

First agent - told me I could redeposit my miles for a fee of $125, then came back and said because I was 61+ days out from the flight, it would only be $75. I was still deciding what to do, so so I ended the call.

Called back. Second agent - told me that redeposit was going to be $125, if I did the $75 option I could only rebook the flight for the same passengers. I asked her to find the flight I wanted to change to and she found one award flight - economy only. I said that I had seen multiple award options when I was looking on the website and she legit hung up on me. Apparently did not want to deal with finding the flight I wanted. And she was flat wrong about the redeposit/rebooking thing, as it turns out.

Called back - got first agent again. She efficiently did the redeposit for me (2x - we had booked 2 tix on DH's account and 2 tix on my account). She said it would be $75 per ticket.

3 hours later - DH's points are back in his account (showed up 5 mins after I cancelled the flight), but mine are not showing up. In the meantime, I figured out that it should have only been $50 per person redeposit, because I'm silver elite. Third agent- looked at what had been done, and saw we were actually only charged the $50 redeposit (so the system worked even though both prior agents didn't know how it worked). She saw my points were "stuck", and had to call some other department to unstick them. Had me on hold for 25 minutes (checking in every so often), then said the person who had to do this was "new" and it seemed to be taking a long time, so she would let me go instead of keeping me on hold while she found someone else to assist. My points showed up about a half hour later.

When I originally booked these tix, I booked 2 and 2 by doing one order on my computer while I was on the phone with United. United res went through, but my online order errored out, and when I went back in, the award availability in business class was gone. So I only had 2 seats in business (and the other leg was economy, because there was never any business availability for the flight I wanted). Also, the agent on the phone screwed up my DDs middle name spelling (and it is not an unusual name or spelling), and I have been trying for months to get it corrected, with no luck.

New booking - new dates. I booked all 4 of our outbound tix together through my account - got 4 seats in Polaris business class on the long haul, plus Austrian business on the hop. Then I booked our return tix through DH's account - also got all 4 of us in Polaris business on the return long haul, plus Swiss business on the first leg. A much better itinerary - and no spelling errors in the name!

Your booking/rebooking sounds like daughter's saga in the last week or so. She is on her way to Cambodia for a family wedding. Her cousin went there to teach and is now marrying a girl from there. (That's another story as she is budhist and there have been multiple parental trips back and forth in the last year. Engagement, etc.)

Anyway she is at this moment on a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong in business (points) and then will fly on to Cambodia on Tuesday. I tried (somewhat) to talk her out of it because her girlfriend was going with her and last minute had an emergency and backed out. Those were also daughter's miles and she was able to redeposit and actually changed to this flight and shortened her trip by a couple of days as she was supposed to leave this past Wednesday. Eventually she meets up with my ex and his wife and the rest of the family at the wedding. (Almost 99% certain they all paid cash for everything through a travel agency because that's what they do.) Deeper pockets than daughter or I.
But she will be in Hong Kong, Macau, Phnom Phen and who knows where else by herself touring around. She is fearless and so am I for myself but still worry for my kids even though she's 41 and very well traveled. Anyway, her return trip is Cambodia to Thailand to Munich to Dulles on United Polaris business class. She will have an economy seat from Hong Kong to Siem Reap on leaving HK for her next stage of touring before the wedding, but that's only 2 and 3/4 hours on a Cathay Dragon flight, but she will try to continue to get this in business while she is in the HK area. I would tell you all the different miles used but I don't have that in front of me. Hotels are all on points and free night certificates, Marriott and Holiday Inn. Her fees that I could see on the outbound flights were $75, no info on the return flights. Her only real cost is for food and maybe a few minor souvenirs.

Anyway the China part solo is a bit of worry for me as there are still warnings for the area due to the civil unrest. Doesn't phase her in the least.

Edit: daughter carries the Plat and several other cards and will be have all the lounge access she can desire. She could be one of those who just fly from airport to airport enjoying free food, massages and showers (lol).

Dang it now that song is in my head. Step by step, day by day! (Although I watched it as reruns in the late 90s/early aughts along with Cosby and Roseanne and Growing Pains etc)
funny thing...theme songs....the 80's were a golden time for theme songs on tv.... I know I'm getting old here but I watch LOTS of old shows on streaming now...and I can remember every song perfectly....IDK why since I have a generally terrible memory....I wish new shows had great theme songs....(Perfect Strangers lol) I prefer the gentle humor of older shows now.... FOr that matter I;ve been watching Mary Tyler Moore and I remember that theme song, I don't know how...maybe my mom used to watch it and I absorbed it?:confused3

Hello!
Just referred a friend for a SW personal card. How long until she can apply for the business card so that she can get the companion pass?
Not sure of her other cards but she barely has any and is definitely under 5/24.
Thanks in advance!

Apologies if this is off-topic, but this seems like the place to ask. I recently got a JetBlue credit card--the one with the $99 fee, which I figure will pay for itself in checked bags alone--and have already met the minimum $1,000-in-90-days requirement in order to receive the bonus points.

Does anyone here have an estimate of how long it'll be before those bonus points show up in my JetBlue account? I have a feeling it'll be the full 90 days from the time I got approved even though I've already met the threshold (thank you, AP renewal). But, you know, I'd like to use those points for my May trip. If possible.

Updated 1/28/20: As it turned out, when I went to look at flights a couple of days ago, the 40,000 bonus points had appeared in my JetBlue account and I was able to use them to book my May WDW trip. Nice! So for anyone else who's reading this--if you have the same experience I did, the points will show up pretty soon after you've paid both the annual fee and charged and paid for $1,000 in purchases.

I paid the card before I even got a bill, so I think that might've helped since I owed them $0 on the due date. Not sure if the points appearing and one's billing cycle are in any way connected, but wanted to report on this in case they are.

She should have applied for the biz card first since you need 0 apps in 30 days. So she should wait until Feb for the biz.

ETA: At this point she should probably try the MDD if she wants the CP sooner. Check out @SouthFayetteFan’s post on Dischurners for the details.

Since she did the personal first she will need to wait at least 30 days. Had she done the biz first she technically could have done the 2nd one sooner. We do recommend pacing 3 months between cards but a lot of people push their SW cards closer. If she does not plan to push more with Chase in the near future then she is probably fine to hit them closer. Don't forget that she can use your support link again for the biz card.

That trip sounds amazing! The older my kids get, the more sympathy I have for my parents - I realize that they still worry about us kids (all 40+ now) AND they now worry about their grandkids too. Never ends.

We got trip insurance, but it was hard to figure out the "cost" of the trip - flights (taxes plus the award travel reinstatement fee) are costing me $600, hotel is all on points (and I got us 2 rooms so we will be able to spread out), we are getting breakfast for free because of hotel status and a Amex FHR booking, so just other meals for the 4 of us plus entrance fees and stuff. Really not a heck of a lot for a 6 day trip to Europe!

Their website says we could call ahead to get their manatee count. I wonder if we should do that so we don’t drive all the way there for nothing. Dh is usually up early. If we don’t go there we’re thinking about going to winter garden for the day
It's a lovely rustic place to visit..... if it's been cold for about a week, the water temps make them seek out the warm springs,so base your visit on the weather....

I figure the Doordash credit will get me another $50 (adjust for how much they increase the price) of Chick Fil A.
Not an expert on all the inner workings of fast food and delivery apps, but I have watched the process at my local McDonald’s that has Uber eats. The driver goes inside and picks up the order just like at any other restaurant. They didn’t order it when they got there, they just let them know which order they were picking up and went on their way. The app transmitted the order to McDonald’s and they started preparing it. That being said, I use door dash quite frequently for restaurants that are rather close, and that I do not feel like walking in the cold Newport wind to pick up, and I generally always get my food faster than the estimated time when it is a close restaurant.
For Grubhub at Chick Fil A when I do pickup, they do not start the order until I arrive and go to the cashier. And it is slower than if I just went in to order (I don't know why).

@tzolkin great! You are each 1/24 then! You could apply for the CIP and spend 5k/3 months to get 80k UR. Then, you could refer your spouse to the CIP and earn 20k for referring them, and they can earn 80k for their own card. Thats a nice 180k UR! CIP also has a 1.25x redemption like the CSP. You and your sppuse can apply as close together as you like as you are considered separate entities to the bank. However, for each person make sure you put 3 months between Chase cards (ie if you are approved in Jan, your spouse can also applyin Jan, but you should not apply again until April).

CIP is definitely the biggest bang for your buck BUT with theCSR increasing its fee by $100 Monday I’d think about if I wanted to get in while the fee was lower (if you don’t care about picking it up later at the higher fee then I’d say CIP first for the higher bonus).

One more thing- when you do a biz apply apply as a sole prop with your name (and ONLY your name, nothing cutesy) as the biz name. SS# as the taxID.

I think ubereats is different because they first had the partnership with McDonald’s.
