READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

We are staying at Riveria going to HS studios tomorrow! What time should we leave for the park , not sure how marathon traffic is going to effect getting there.

This thread is HUGE! Trying to find out how large a boarding group size is. My family group size is 16ppl. Should I be splitting the group into small groups for the boarding group for a better chance? (Thé 16 ppl are 4 families of 4).
Thanks for your help!
Disney hasn't provided an official answer... but people around here thinks it's 75 to 100 persons per BG. If your group wants to ride together don't split up. Make sure everyone is linked in the MDE app of the person or persons trying to get a BG and that everyone is IN the park by park opening.

I know we need to get to HS at opening and enter the park. I am the one who makes our Fps and does the planning. My DH does have the MDE app on his phone but he logs in to my account with my password. Can I join a boarding group for both of us on my MDE app the way I change our FPs or does he have to create his own account with his own password to join a boarding group? Thanks

Merged you to the proper thread
You both can use the same account and try and join using both phones, that way you have double the chance of getting through , each person can pick how many people are in the park

Not that I'm any expert, but I assume the boarding groups are "randomly" distributed among the requests made at a given time. So lets say at 7:01am, there may be close to 60 requests for a boarding group. At 8am (provided not all the groups have been distributed), there could be just 5 requests for a boarding group. So the numbers would make more chronological sense.
Each request is a "thread" hitting the servers. The more threads, the more randomized the numbers are. The fewer threads, then the numbers allocated would make more sense.

- just my 0.02 , i could be way off base. But thats how I would program it (I'm in IT)

I highly doubt this. Almost certainly distributed in order. But remember, the order the server gets the signals from different devices won’t match the order buttons were pressed for many technical reasons. That is likely the reason people next to each other are getting different groups. People assume the second they click is when they’re in line, but there are many intervening technical things going on that greatly affect speed of the request getting to the server and being reported back. And because 15 seconds here can be huge in the morning, people are reading way too much into this beyond very basic technical aspects that easily explain what we’re seeing.

latency-ping time--very important here. on network wi-fi would be the best of course. Perhaps if have party in hotel on-site is probably the next best advantage. Stuck on cell tower on throttled speeds and thousands of others----probably not the best.

I wonder how busy Super Bowl Sunday will be for BGs, especially with EMH from 8-10pm that night. Might be a good time for late night SDD. We are at Ft Wilderness Feb 2-8 and the hours are still 9am for that week.

With marathon again tomm. If I am taking Uber from Pop any suggestions on time I should leave hotel via Uber or Lyft? Not relying on bus given I need to do bag check as well.

Why is having to do bag check swaying your opinion on taking a bus?

With all of the road closures due to the race (which might be more significant tomorrow because of the longer distance of the race), I'd think that Disney transportation will be your best bet because the drivers will know which routes to take/will be assigned to specific detoured routes to avoid the race closures.

I think this is the best explanation of how the randomness of the Bg’s works😊

The game has no effect on wdw crowds

6am is fine, your a 5 min car ride away, with partial road closure it could get to 10

I'll be doing the same in a week! Are you driving or ridesharing or busing? If busing I'd love to know if you are able to catch an early bus. I'm not sure if buses will be as plentiful or as frequent since it's a small resort.

More so buses start at 615. So if park opens a few mins after I’ll be out of luck

Wow this thread is huge! I am going next Sunday 1/19 and am very hopeful of getting a BG! We're staying at Caribbean Beach and we're planning on using bus service (since as long as we're in the park by 7, we have a fair chance correct?) and we are planning on then leaving the park soon after. I do have a few questions though!
1. Does the skyliner open up in the morning at HS to transport guests back to skyliner resorts? We'd probably leave a little after 8:00 AM and would prefer to take the skyliner back to Caribbean Beach.
2. Can my sister and I both log into the app and the same MDE account to try and give us 2 shots at getting a BG? We are the only two in the party.
3. Should I worry about the success rate on such a busy weekend? MLK weekend is supposed to be quite busy.

Thank y'all so much in advance! Trying not to stress too much or get my hopes up!

1. Skyliner opens at 7:30
2. Yes you can
3. No you should not worry as that won't help you get a bg. Just be there before opening time and you'll be fine

Part two: The Ride

(Part 1 summary: boarding group 73 obtained at 7:01)

Called at 12:59.
Got in line at 2:23. Nearly back to the sign outside- one curve wasn’t filled. In caves at 2:39. First preshow at 2:57. Off at 318. This was my third ride and the first time I did not encounter long waits after the first preshow, which really helps with the immersion. I’d much rather wait longer before the preshows.
