READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

Wow...I'm hoping that by the end of April they work out much of these new ride kinks...My husband is not the most patient person and just having to get up early to tap in and try to get a boarding group will probably be an ordeal for him! Thankfully we are staying at BW and will be able to walk over to DHS!

Just a friendly reminder - we all love experience posts, but we ask that we all try our best to keep this is a No Spoiler thread. Even seemingly harmless references to rooms, locations, etc sometimes flirt too close with that “spoiler” line.

TPAS Moderators may edit or remove content that we feel is too descriptive.

Speaking from a personal standpoint, I was full radio silent on the attraction prior to riding (and I’m not even a SW fan), which admittedly is very difficult to do in this visual social media age. Regardless, the goal here is to keep the thread free of specifics so people can go about their planning and understanding of Boarding Groups without running into any spoilers.

:thanks:

Thank you! I’ve spotted things today in this thread that I didn’t know about the queue, and I’m trying so hard to know as little as poss about the actual ride before visiting in a couple of weeks, as I’m sure lots of people are doing.
I know an awful lot about getting a boarding group thanks to everyone though :-)

We are planning to drive up early Sunday (1/19) My daughters AP exp. tomorrow so this might be the last time she rides for a few months.
Is the park still opening about 30-45 min. before posting so she should arrive around 6/615 am ???
Is there any hope of an early BG if you are only signing up one person or is it still basically a lottery once it is open ???
thanks

What happens if two people try to enter a BG (with accounts linked) at the same time? Will MDE not allow the second account to enter a BG?

Sorry if this has been addressed, it’s hard to keep up with the thread!

Heading to DHS tomorrow, counting down the minutes, planning for an early morning walk from the Beach Club. Nothing like getting the blood flowing to the legs at 6am!

It will tell the other person a boarding group has already been assigned.

When you are choosing your boarding group, does it make you sign in again? I feel like sometimes the app will have be enter in my password even if I'm signed in already.

I’m a solo. In the park to login at exactly 7. Got 158 backup BG first day and was not called. Got regular BG 87 the second day and was called about 1 pm.

So from my experience being a single is no advantage.

I was also a single, and got BG 14. So yeah, neither advantage nor disadvantage.

I don't think I posted all the details before:
  • I was thru the tapstyles last Thursday around 6:45.
  • I parked myself right on the corner of Hollywood & Sunset.
  • I have a Samsung phone on Consumer Cellular with an AT&T sim, and I turned off wifi.
  • I opened a digital clock on the screen.
  • About 2 or 3 seconds before 7, I opened MDE.
  • I hit the "Show more" button immediately and when I arrived at the 2nd screen, the "Join BG" button was lit first try, and I got BG 14.

When were you there?

I actually went back to look, because I figured you probably posted about your experience previously. I see your truly awful experience happened on January 3, which was a horrible day for many. I just wanted to point that out, because being ready to get a boarding group by 7 will nearly always get you a regular boarding group. Your experience with getting a backup at that time was just a particularly awful day that hasn't been repeated since those 3 days in early January. Hopefully no one will ever have that happen again. I feel for everyone who was there on those days!

145 might be it for the day! So excited that they got back on track today! New chart coming up at 8pm :D

While you wait for that, here's an interesting look at every 7 day period since 12/18 and BGs per hr for those days. This would be a way to take a little of the "feeling" out of how the ride is performing. What we can see here is that until yesterday's disaster, the ride had actually been trending in an upward direction. The next 5 days will certainly show lower since they include yesterday (hopefully as a bit of an outlier day). But at any rate, just thought this was a neat way to look at it.

For reference: the Avg BGs / hour across the last 32 days is 9.8!

Oh, and for those wondering, I feel like BGs per hour is a much better way to look at things vs. # of BGs called or how many backups get called, etc. The long holiday hours allowed for more BGs to be called back BUT that did not necessarily mean the ride was performing better. This type of analysis seems to take those variables out of play.

It shouldn’t, but I’ve definitely had times where the app was wonky and it made me sign in again (not specifically when getting a BG, just in general).
