This is normal in social media marketing, but people just don't realise it when they use specific hastags.

Many hashtags are created by companies for the specific purpose of generating user content for use in marketing campaigns.

Companies use hashtags in whats called social listening, there will be someone whose job it is to follow the hashtag stream and to select specific content from the stream for promotional use.

I do this for clients.

so for other companies they also will have that disclaimer but just Disney is being more upfront with making people aware of that disclaimer?

Guess I just don't see the problem with the disclaimer Disney posted and not sure why so many people are bent out of shape about it

exactly. Most companies have it in their general terms and conditions on their websites, which people never read. Its the same with reviews, I use them for promotional purposes for my clients, both on the websites and on social media. On social media I will say, if you have been to our shop, pop over to our Google page (link) and leave a short review. I then screen cap that review and the next week will say , another happy customer

Slightly OT:

I wonder what the subscription rate will be in about a month as some states open up a little and people have already watched their favorite content on D+.

The net change in subs will be interesting. Although I’m very certain Disney will never release the info, but I wonder how many of the subs the company touted will become just trial or 1 to 2-month subs.

I am sure some - but I think seeing them continue to release movies pretty early like with TRoS will keep them. Plus I think a lot of people once they have it wont' cancel (harder to get new subscribers than keep them I think).

Get a new hit series to come out would help a lot with retention I am sure (maybe they hope they have that with the behind the scenes Mandelorian show)

I don't really think this hints at a new show or a second season in any way. Plenty of media, including documentaries, leave tons of footage on the cutting room floor - they pick and choose what suits their story best, and the pieces left out are either lower in quality or would make things feel more incoherent. Also, she never explicitly says anything to lead someone to think they'll put together another series, just that the material is there, which is not really news.

I personally would really love more content, but I don't expect it unless the first series was overwhelmingly popular and we don't know that to be true.

Thank you so much for posting this. I missed this news announcement and I’ve been waiting since launch for the force logout feature. Soon after release my Disney account was hacked (as part of the data breach) and someone has been using my Disney+ since then. Watching all kinds of shows I have no interest in and mon my “previously watched”. Feels so good to finally kick them out of our account.

Just wanted to mention the Prop Culture is soooooo good.

If you like the history aspect of the Imagineering story definitely give this a watch

I may have teared up watching Richard Sherman playing Feed the Birds on the piano in Walt's office
Going to start watching it tonight. Have one episode left of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Hollywood then it’s on to prop culture.

Have to admit that I binge-watched 4 episodes. It was really good!
The Mary Poppins episode will hook into watching the others. Tron and Honey, I shrunk the kids were good. But, NOTHING better than seeing Jane from MP holding here outfit. Loved seeing Richard Sherman. I knew the story behind the "feed the birds" snowglobe. But, it was neat to hear how they reproduced it for Mary Poppins Returns. Why aren't they selling those?

This will spoil some things if you are not caught up on Clone Wars. But shows how they did the lightsaber battle with motion capture to animation.

The last Clone Wars is UP TODAY! I got up early and watched it. It was amazing. That is all. Have a great "May the Fourth!"
