DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Almost don't feel like it today but........ top WDW list for today..............Top 3 photo ops at DaWorld or your top 3 photos taken at Daworld (post if you would like).

I'll post the pics and by photo ops, I'm taking it as 3 that I always take.

First, a tradition for us. 1st time in 2004, last time in 2017.

An early morning Hump day surprise for me as we are furloughed next week following Memorial day. The first day the state opens up, we get a 3 days notice of cuts. Must be that surge of virus cases. We are allowed to use our vacation time, if you have it.

I am so sorry to hear this, AirGoofy, I hope things work out for you. I'll say a prayer that things work out for you.

Great pics! Who do you use to host your pictures? I use to use photobucket, but now they want money for me to access my pics. Thankfully I had only a hand full of pictures on that site. Nope! I want free!

That's gonna take some thinking... hmmm...
#3 Splash Mountain when I was losing my favorite hat. Sucked at the time, but when I look at the photo, I think wow...timing.

Like that one. Clever. :thumbsup2

Thanks.

I use to use Photobucket. Over the years thee kept giving more storage space for free and I had pictures from about 15 trips stored there. Then the started asking for money or told me to remove pictures to get back to the free limit. I told them I refused to pay for something they game me for free. I told them I would gladly download all my pictures but then they took away the ability to download albums and required that you do it one picture at a time. A few months ago they finally allowed multiple downloads so I took them all off of Photobucket and told them to delete my account.

I do have a pro Flickr account that I don't mind paying for because I wasn't forced into it. I also put some albums up on Face book.

Very cool. Can understand how this would be your favorite.

I have this picture. I don't think I was there yet, but speaking of which...

Were they just walking by and it was a well timed photo or did they pose for this?

Well, I was supposed to be going back to work today for another couple weeks.
Got told yesterday that I’ll be off until further notice. Not enough activity to support my services.
Could be the beginning of the end. Hard to tell these days in the oil & gas racket.
On the bright side, at least I am still employed and have benefits and a small monthly salary coming in (about 25% of my overall salary).
But the bulk of my salary is from daily bonus when I actually work. Short term I don’t mind a little time off, but that’s not going to get the bills paid after a while.
Part of me thinks a layoff would be better. At least I would have a severance package and employment insurance to keep me going for a while.
The next couple months are going to be interesting.

Beverly.

Ouch and ouch. Prayers for you both. Not sure how all this is going to shake out.

SWMBO had the day off today so we went to the big city to see how things were opening up and had planned to do some anniversary shopping. Hobby Lobby was packed so she left her cart and walked out. The mall was almost a ghost town. Dicks Sporting Goods, Dillards, every shoe store, and the Hallmark outlet store were all that were open. Disney store was closed as was her favorite clothing store and jewelry store. Picked up Cracker Barrel for her and the kids to eat in the car on the way back into the mountains. The 25th anniversary has all indications of being a dumpster fire to go with the rest of the year.

Crud. I'm sorry, Norm.

I personally think that they'll find that lockdowns should have been imposed earlier in some places, were put in place at the right time in others, and should not have been put in place in others.

I'm sure that's true. This has seemed like the ultimate "perception is reality" event. If you live in rural Nebraska, it's all a wild overreaction. If you live in Manhattan, it's the holocaust.

Given the current environment I don’t think it would be very easy. Plus the fact that my job very specialized within the company I work for, it’s not easily transferable skills.
It would probably be back to the drawing board for me. I’m not really sure, I honestly haven’t seriously looked for a job in 22 years.

I'm sure with 22 years experience you have some versatile skills. Just a guess, but I bet you can prove you can manage a project or handle a budget and manage expenses.

I'm going to post these from my Google account. For some reason, Google photos have trouble showing up here if you're on an Apple device, so tell me if that's still a problem. I can see them just fine on my work computer.

I also had a hard time narrowing it down to just 3.

Morning all,

Another beautiful day here with temps getting up to about 80F later today, even warmer tomorrow. Good days to not be at the office. We are moving to our 3rd stage of reopening tomorrow, so there will be more confusion about what sports are allowed to do and what they aren't. Good times.

3rd day of the office been officially open and it is still pretty quiet.

Have a great Thursday all.

Were they just walking by and it was a well timed photo or did they pose for this?

That was a staged photo.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Looking like some lousy weather for the 4 day weekend I got so looks like I will have to grill out in between the rain. Luckily a covered front porch so should be able to have a nice cigar or two. Hope all are well, safe and again to those having their work / employment impacted by this dang thing I feel for you and thoughts are with you - hang in there guys.

First two pics are visible on my laptop but not the others?

Well since I don’t have work for the near future I’m going to take the opportunity to enjoy life as much as I can.
I’ve always wanted a fire pit but I live in suburbia with houses all around, so I just never bothered. Life is too short, so I just said screw it and I went out yesterday and picked up one of those small fire bowls. We’ll only use it to roast a couple marshmallows anyway. Looking forward to it tonight.

Sorry to hear Jeff. If you don't qualify for CERB, does the province have any plans in place? They did here for a bit. I think your employer may be able to access a program to help with wages as well.
Province doesn’t have anything.
My employer is a big multinational company so they wouldn’t qualify for the wage support.

Top 3 photo ops at DaWorld or your top 3 photos taken at Daworld (post if you would like).
I’ll try to come back with the actual pictures. The ones I would pick are not the typical ride photos, but ones that have special meaning.

1. me and DW at the fountain outside France. We took it by chance one night and it became one of our favourites, we do it every trip.
2. BBB pics of both girls. Only did it once for each but it’s just cute to see them with the princess hair.
3. Pics of youngest DD with Anna boots on. Hard to explain without the picture but she really wanted an Anna costume and we got the full outfit. She loved the boots and wouldn’t take them off. She clopped around MK with those things on. It’s just a fun memory.

Just a guess, but I bet you can prove you can manage a project or handle a budget and manage expenses.
That’s probably the angle I would take. I did that for two years in my previous position with the company, before I went back to a technical role last December. So hopefully I could find something in a project management type role...if I need to.

Top WDW list for today ........................ Considering Springs opened somewhat yesterday, Top 3 reasons you like Springs or if you're a "get off my lawan" guy towards Springs Top 3 reasons you are not a fan.
I’m fairly neutral on Springs.
We like to go to World of Disney and Marketplace just to browse. There aren’t really any other stores we really have to visit.
Restaurants are good but not really any must do’s for us.

Top 3 reasons the Springs is alllll right......

1. Earl of Sandwich - damn they good!

2. Raglan Road - Great Pints and Food - oh and their bread pudding?!? Off the chain!

3. Getting a little Disney Magic without spending $$ on a park ticket....I've made many a trip to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) when I've been in town for a conference so I could just get that Disney Fix!

Afternoon Disdaderati, nice photos all there, loved @declansdad Declan over the years and @Captain_Oblivious I love your eldest boy's T shirt.

Another week of 80f here. I relocated my office to the garden for the last 2 weeks, so my tan is nicely topped up. Kids are in the blow up pool and I've rigged them up a water slide with a drill, some hose and a couple of jubilee clips. Ran 10k today, which was a bit toasty as I could only go at 12-1. At least it good training for marathon running in Florida, I guess.
Chicken on the charcoal tonight, maybe washed down with a bottle of Kona's finest. Here's hopin'.

Just a guess, but I bet you can prove you can manage a project or handle a budget and manage expenses.
Hell, if I can do it, anyone can.
There aren’t really any other stores we really have to visit.
Fine. I don't care. ;)
Enjoy your fire pit mate.

I'm on my work laptop, so no photos, but
Top 3 reasons the Springs is alllll right......

Dockside Margaritas. The bar guys there are always super friendly, and the Margaritas are really not that bad.

House of Blues was always our last lunch until we bought into the Poly. All our flights home are at 5-ish, so it was a good place to get our last Disney fix, but easy enough to get the kids away from.

Have a great afternoon chaps, and enjoy your 4 dayer......

My top 3 at Downtown Disney

Raglan Road. Great food and love the entertainment. Ever since seeing Celtic woman live, something about Irish food, dance, singing I enjoy more now.

Disney quest - this is a get off my lawn one...loved this and have 0 (more like -50) interest in NBA experience.

So, since DQ is no more, Lego store. Don't usually buy anything, but love looking and/or playing.

Il Gelato.

Used to like it a lot more...we used to do 1 park day, 1 resort/DTD/veg in room day alternating.

Not a shopper, so since DQ closed, don't go often now.
