Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Blaze pizza is pretty good. I have been known to go over to DS just for their pizza while staying at Pop, especially after they changed pizzas. It doesn’t beat Via Napoli, but I think it’s one of the better on property choices, especially if you don’t want to go into the parks. The Boardwalk used to do a decent pizza at their pizza window, but they changed those and they aren’t quite as good these days.
Wonder if they're even still having the pizza window or the little food cart on the Boardwalk with the carnival type foods, like footlong corn dogs? I see a lot of people buying large slices of pizzas near Via Napoli, but I've never tried that because we usually try to save our calories for food booths or other reservations.

Ray's statement on the Pop foods, makes me want to try to avoid eating there this trip. I know we initially thought to try to eat dinner at Pop or DS to save the limited park hrs on AK or MK nights. But now we'll either eat at the park or maybe go to DS 1x after AK. Sort of thinking I don't want to deal with the transportation to DS.

Just got back from the Pop yesterday and I wanted to add that we were able to use our Tables in Wonderland discount at the food court. We could not use it for a mobile order but we were able to order from a cashier inside. We only did this a couple times because it just seemed like a hassle and we didn't end up eating at the Pop much.

I would also say line up early for buses and Skyliner. I thought the buses especially in the morning ran often but since they only take 6 parties per bus we liked to get there early.

Oh and we used grocery delivery from Instacart/Publix and had no issues. Hubs went down to pick it up alone instead of having bell services deliver but I forgot about all the water and seltzer I ordered so bell services put it on a cart for him and walked with him back to our room!

I was wondering if all of the buildings are being occupied and if they are using all of the floors in the buildings that are in use.

It was only 50s-70s last time I heard. I'm not sure on all floors, but I'd think they use them all before expanding to 80s-90s with increased capacity.

The following comments are from another group of visitors at Pop Century this week.

I put their comments in quotes.

I realize that previous posts have similar information, but I like reading guest's experiences and maybe these recent comments might help someone reading.

I asked several questions and this was their answers.

Did you share your food comments with management?

Were there any food choices that you liked or suggest?

What time did you line up for Skyliner to get to DHS in order to get a ROR reservation?

Was the Skyliner ever down when you had to take a bus to DHS or EPCOT?

Did they offer an activity guide?

Were the Laundry buildings open to using?

Was the pool bar open?

I don't own or rent a car and I use a wheelchair. I love WDW using their transportation.

If the food choices at the Pop trend toward not being as good as it used to be and no microwave available, what would be your choices for dining?

I guess I could dine at the other resorts, especially using Skyliner to DHS or EPCOT and Boardwalk Area if I am at the Pop. Or any park if I'm already at a park.

For eating in my room, I'm not much of a cereal person.

I was thinking of buying cold sandwiches and snacks to put in the fridge for late-night if everything is closed.

Pop has a Turkey Sandwich (Turkey, Mozzarella, Sweet Bell Peppers, Basil Aïoli, Lettuce, and Balsamic Vinaigrette) and a Salad with Chilled Chicken (Chilled Chicken Breast served over a bed of Romaine tossed with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Onions, and Croutons served with your choice of Dressing on the side). Both those would keep in the room fridge without the need to keep warm like their other offerings.

Plus they have yogurt, Apples, Bananas, Oranges & Grapes. PlusPastries & Snacks

I might try the ham & cheese omelet and pot roast dinner at least once to see if they are warm or fresh.

The BoardWalk Bakery has good cold sandwiches like a Ham and Swiss Sandwich and
The Big and Beefy Sandwich (Focaccia Bread, Roast Beef, Caramelized Fennel, and Onions on a Whole-Grain Creamy Mustard Sauce served with Chips), Parfaits and desserts. Plus a Caesar Salad with Chicken (Kale and Romaine Lettuce, Sea Salt Herb Croutons, and Parmesan).

Disney Springs Earl Of Sandwich has a large selection of choice of chilled sandwiches, wraps, and salads.

I don't know if I would leave Pop just to buy food but if I was already in the area, I might bring something back and put it in the fridge for the next day instead of eating at Pop.

I don't know.

We ordered a large pizza. It wasn’t as good as they use to be. The food court was time consuming.

I brought lunch meat, bagels, bread, cream cheese, ham, leftovers from home, snack food.

For our anniversary, we got take out from Macaroni Grill.

Other than that, we ate the food we brought.

For someone who has been recently what is the Food Court like currently?

We only got food once from Everything Pop once. There is a cm blocking the entry. You get in the same line to enter for shopping or food. You tell the cm where you want to go. Ordering is on the app. Or you can order and pay inside as well. Food is placed in paper shopping bags with a handle. Be sure to check your bag that you have condiments and utensils that you need. We had salad, but weren’t given intensive. They did give us paper plates for the pizza and napkins. We had to ask for packets of crushed red pepper and

Anyone had the pizza recently? Im seeing not great food court reviews but nothing on the pizza

Yes, it was disappointing. My son always ordered a large pizza and would eat it hot for dinner then cold for breakfast. He ate 2 slices this trip and wasn’t interested in leftovers. The salad that goes with the puzza

I don’t like the pizza as well since it changed from round to rectangular. The sauce is bland and there is too much cheese, which is also bland. There also aren’t as many choices of toppings when ordering a whole pizza. This is not virus related, because they made the topping switch when they changed the pizza format. I had it for the first time in January and I haven’t wanted it since then.

The burgers have been good though.

Agree about the pizza.

How is the Skyliner riding at night? I ask because we have an ADR for 7:35 at Topolino’s at Riviera Resort. We planned to spend a few hours at Disney Springs then bus back to Pop, change clothes then take the Skyliner to Riviera. It should be running since Epcot won’t close until 7 but I realize we would have to Uber back to Pop after dinner. Of course this all depends on the weather situation too...then throw in the possibility of a slow bus service from DS back to Pop. Maybe we would be better off taking the Riviera bus from DS straight to dinner?

What pools are open at Pop right now? We booked a last-minute trip for this weekend and we will want to swim, so I'm hoping more than just the main pool is open.

Maybe just me, but if were changing clothes I'd throw a shirt in a backpack to change in a bathroom and skip the extra stop at Pop. EP is open until 9 now, but you must mean after 9/7. I thought the skyliner was open 90 min after park close, just like the buses, but not sure.

Yep, I’m afraid so. Our night in question is 9/15! The problem isn’t the clothes part, really. It’s the “no hat” part for Topolino’s. Hubby rarely goes without a hat, esp at WDW. I could throw in a comb and hairspray, though ;)

I'm losing my hair, always have to wear a hat now to avoid burning my head. So gone are the days where we don't take a bag. We have ponchos, being that we often go in Aug/Sept, the most rainy times of the yr., and since we already have a bag, a bunch of snacks and medicines, and drinks and stuff.

We were there last week and I'm pretty sure we were in the 50s section (rm was 1145, very close to Classic Hall)

Another question: We reserved a preferred handicap two queen room with a roll-in shower. Are these in one specific section or are there some in all the preferred sections? Thanks!

Yes, room 1145 is in the 50's section.

You can tell where you stayed by your room number.

#1145
"1" Building #1, 50's Section
"1" First floor
"45" Room number.

There are 72 rooms per floor.
Three connected buildings by a center area with two elevators and stairs.
Six sections or two per building with 12 rooms per section..
The rooms are numbered counter-clockwise 01 to 72.
Room 01 starts at the front of the buildng icon and to the right of the center section

So to get room #4145 walk past the building Icon; past the elevators, turn left (ice machine/soda machine/candy machine on left), turn right (first room is #4148, so your room #4145 is the 4th room counting 4148)

When I usually check my phone when my room is ready, I can tell by room number what building and what floor I am on.

Then I can look at the Pop map and see exactly where my room is located and what my view might be.

I could then decide if I wanted to request a different building if available for my length of stay.

One year I was in Pop room #0202. It had a terrible internet connection.

WDW tech convinced me it was my laptop after a long time of following there instructions

It was the location, not my laptop.

I realized it when I transferred to my second resort.

I think my Pop room #0202 was in a weak area being near an inner corner with trees facing a parking lot.

The preferred rooms are marked in yellow. They can be pool view or mainly just closer to the main POP Buiding.

The handicap two queen room with a roll-in shower can be Standard or Preferred areas.

There are 31 handicap roll-in shower rooms in this resort, and the rooms alternate buildings.

I have stayed in Building #10, The Big Wheel Building, roll-in shower rooms in Standard rooms #0203, #0122, & #0322.

I haven't stayed in the other buildings.

Could you please report back which room number you stayed in?

If anyone else is assigned a similar room, I am trying to compile a list.

Sometimes guests are assigned a handicap room.

Thank you.

The map shows above shows I was in room #0203. They couldn't use 5-numbers on the door like #10203. They could only use 4-numbers on the door like #0203.

There are only 10 Pop Buildings.

I put a small red arrow pointing to my room #0203 location on the map above.

Thanks for the info, Ray. And I will make sure to report back!

Do the majority of the rooms have the tub with the sliding doors? Taking toddlers next week and I definitely need a tub. I saw some rooms just have a shower with sliding doors
