Cases rising or dropping by you?

I’m in your general vicinity. Our numbers looked great a few weeks ago. I see a lot of mask compliance. I can’t explain why our numbers have gone up so much. It’s like Whack a Mole.
I don't understand our numbers either. Our mask mandate went into effect 7/10. Numbers continue to rise, granted not exponentially, but still going up.

Yes! Mask mandate went into effect the first week of July. Looked good at first but the last few weeks they just keep rising.

Last seven days, not going up, not going down, steady number of hospitalizations remaining at the highest level peak of the pandemic.
Just got a Facebook message from a neighbor, he and his wife tested positive 10 days ago, they are in quarantine until Friday. Mild case fortunately as he has stage 4 cancer . First people that I know that I am aware of that have it.

Cases in New York are dropping the governor and data says.
My son is an ICU nurse. Last week the covid unit had 8 patients. Today he said they had 20 patients.
I honestly don't know what the calculation formulas are based on. Maybe we are one of the rising spike areas. Overall the state is less than 1%.

Her mom is 87. How old was her grandmother that recently passed away from Covid-19? That's some good genes right there!
I feel foolish. Her grandmother didn't die. She is a liar.

Also, her sister who is "fighting for her life"? Posts on Instagram daily. She's ok.

How Joseph Fair of her. Terrible for people that are really fighting for their lives.

I've been watching our local case numbers a little more closely with school starting this week for my daughter, and we're averaging between 3 and 6 daily new cases per 100k. That's a fair bit higher than our June low, but weirdly enough, hospitalizations and deaths haven't showed a corresponding increase. We've had two months now of cases slowly trending up and then reaching a higher plateau at a little less than half our peak, and neither hospitalizations nor deaths have followed. Which I would think is a good sign but it doesn't seem to be getting a lot of attention from our leaders or media.

I suspect cases will level off with a spike related to Labor Day next month. We should reach a steady state as long as we keep socially distancing and wearing masks until a vaccine comes out. This could be our reality for another year.

Folks will tweak their spending accordingly. The economy will slowly improve and plateau until a vaccine comes out. No idea where that will put unemployment. But if I had to guess, I’d say it will be between 6-8% through the end of next year with different states having different impacts due to their economic drivers.

Yes this will be important to keep in mind. Holidays will likely generate a bit of a spike. The one I'm wondering how it will end up is Halloween just because of how might be the norm to do it this year and that it's a bit different than other holidays out there at least to me it is because of what you do (although get togethers is still a main issue) if you're actually trick or treating.

Seven day average is down slightly, but still near record levels.

Our corporate owners announced today that they are suspending any consideration of remote workers returning to work inside buildings until next year. The first group to go back in was set to return July 6th, but the record spike nationwide halted that effort.
We have 51 locations in 28 states with 7,000 employees. CEO says the infection rates in all 28 states are too high to safely allow people back into buildings even with all the precautions. Everything is ready on that end when they do decide to let people back in. Common work areas gone, Cubicles surrounded with plexi-glass having replaced them.

My county in PA is showing 3 deaths and 3 new cases & today was the first day of school. Going to start paying attention with screenshots to see if they are testing freely or not because if you need to die to get tested, well that just seems a bit severe :/
Luckily Worldometer tracks total tests.

Texas is doing real well. I don't understand it to be honest.

I heard that the southern states are improving but now the northern states are getting worse. It never seems to end.
