Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We're a month out from our first YC stay (fingers crossed). Has anyone had luck calling the hotel to make special requests? Specifically, I don't want a shared balcony, and since we're paying for a water view, I would love it to face the lake instead of other rooms. Thank you! We're going 12/6-12/13.

You can't call the hotel. You might think you're calling the hotel, but the person you speak to will not be at the hotel. If you want to make a request, call 407-W-DISNEY. As an alternative, some people have been happy using the Touring Plans request service. I personally looked at it but was not comfortable providing all of the information requested.

I have to ask about something I have been reading other places. Swan & Dolphin no longer have Disney bus service, but are now Mears buses with drop off at the off site bus spots, so TTC for MK. There are posts saying people should just walk to YC or BW for a bus to MK. I’m worried about a big increase in people taking the Y & B buses in the mornings especially. Anyone there recently who can comment? I am concerned with the limited bus capacity if enough S & D guests do this, it will cause issues for Y & B guests. I know this might be a controversial subject & normally have no issue with using other resorts buses etc, but this has the potential for a huge increase in riders. Just wondering if I should anticipate any issues with this.

I have to say I agree with you. I posted about this a few days ago, though I was afraid of getting flamed. I also have no problem with people hopping on other resort busses to get to reservations etc, but the shear number of people just throwing out there “go get on the YC bus” to avoid the Mears is alarming to me. I don’t think that is right or fair to those staying at the YC and BW, especially in the mornings.

well I haven’t measured the distance but the walk to Boardwalk from S/D seems shorter than the walk to YC so I would be more concerned if I were staying at BW.

They are also just making things worse for themselves, in the time they could have gotten to TTC and ridden transportation to MK they will probably still be waiting on a bus at YC/BC since there will be way too many people for the buses to accomodate quickly. I have a friend who was there a couple of weeks ago and she never had issues with the buses, but I'll be interested to see when i'm there at thanksgiving if it's bad. we do need to remember though that not everyone staying there goes on message boards or in groups to get this kind of info, and the people can also walk to BW and get on their buses just as easily if they don't like the Mears because it's not really that much more or less of a walk.

They're totally trying to justify walking over (on the Swolfin thread) because "they're entitled to Disney transportation". It's like, no, the Swofin has elected to not use Disney transportation. You want Disney to the parks, stay at a Disney owned and operated property.

If you call the number listed for the resort about 5-8 days prior to check-in date, you can place your requests with a CM. That phone number will connect you to someone not physically at the resort, but who handles requests and questions for a few specific resorts. Through experience and feedback from the front desk CMs at my resort, I have found following this process produces the best results for my requests. Of course, they will always say there are no guarantees, but they will try their best to accommodate your requests. The fewer the requests the better chance there is of getting them met. List requests by importance.

I don't go in there because I don't stay at Swolfin, but I just try to remember that a ton of people never set foot in a Disney message board/forum so it's not like every single person who is booked there is going to hike over and use the buses. I think those people over there are just so used to Disney transportation that they forget they're not actually staying at a Disney run resort and that it's a "while supplies last" situation with onsite perks.

We are set to arrive on Sunday. The same day the weather is supposed to get bad because of "Eta". Are the hookups on the TVs accessible? Has anyone has recent experiences with using a Roku at the YC? is it even worth bringing?

Oh! Officially changed to Yacht Club for my first time staying here!!!!! January 6-11!!

Would have been there those dates too, waking up every day at ungodly hours. Stupid Covid.

Enjoy your trip! I guess I’m biased as it’s probably my second favorite resort, but I think YC is a great choice.

I've got the BCVs covered from 1/6 - 1/13. Was supposed to be marathon week[end] with my nieces
but that came to a screeching halt about 6 months ago. Still planning on showing them the sites and catching the kick-off for Festival of the Arts beginning 1/8. Hopefully we'll be back for MW in 2022! I'm thinking 2023 might be more realistic from a "return to normalcy" perspective?

I hope you will be able to get some decent gluten free food at Ale and Compass. I could not get decent food there. First time I went to F&W vacation and lost weight. Maybe the other restaurants will be open then.

Thank you for the warning! Tomorrow is ADR day and I was figuring one morning A&C and one Trattoria. I think I'll shoot for A&C second so I can go by earlier in my trip and ask about gluten-free options at breakfast.

We ate at Trattoria for dinner and we split the steak. It was good. I noticed the portions were pretty large. Loved the little bar, interesting. Breakfast at A&C was not bad, we just had the American breakfast. Dinner was a different story. The menu is very limited. We didn’t do any QS.

Yeah - I was only meaning breakfast. Even before the COVID menus the options at A&C were pitiful. I’m planning dinners at the parks or Springs (pending tomorrow’s ADR day going well).
