Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Cool layout. Room looks cool. Is it a garden view? Is the hike really far? Enjoy your trip.

Water view! It’s not that bad of a walk, but it is as far as you can get! We’re on the corner of the building near the dolphin. My opinion of the distance may change after our first full park day Tomorrow! 😂😂
I’ll take pics of the view from the side windows tomorrow. Too dark to see anything now.

Enjoy the extra space & have a great trip. Please report back how things at YC are. 😀

I just booked a garden view room at YC for May 17 - May 22. My husband and I have never stayed at YC before, so we’re excited to try this resort! What room requests should I make to try to get the best view?
Request a Epcot facing room so you can view fireworks if they are back by that date.

Hope you have a great time too! Hopefully we won’t get too water logged!
I think you are close to the "Secret Exit". You don't need to walk to the lobby to get out to the lake. There are stairs or a smaller elevator you can use that brings you out to an unmarked door. See post 33292 on page 1665 of this thread for photos.

I know it’s all speculation at this point, but when beach club reopens in May, what restaurants does everyone think will open with it?? Cape May? Yachtsman? grill portion of Hurricane Hannah’s? Just one? All them? Combo of two? Interested to hear thoughts.

Hmmm, good question. Not sure why, but I’m going to go with no changes when BC opens.

We are traveling last week of April. Our last trip was November 2019 for DH and I. We stayed YC and of course loved it. I am debating between YC and GF for this trip. We honeymooned at the GF way back in 1989. Any advice either way would be great!

Pretty equal in my mind and the pros/cons of each balance each other out. For me, it would come down to park preferences. If you’re an Epcot and DHS heavy family, like to use hopping into Epcot for meals, etc, then YC hands down. If you’re more of a MK family and spend time in/around the the monorail/MK resorts, then GF.

GF rooms are bigger but older. YC rooms are newer but a littler smaller.

GF always feels very relaxing to us - both pools are great options and I like how the Courtyard leisure pool is huge and has a bar - not an afterthought like many resort leisure pools.

I donno, could probably wake up on any given day feeling one way and then change the next day - but ultimately it comes down to park preferences for us, usually.

You can't beat the YC for easy access to HS and Epcot, the beautiful surroundings, general atmosphere and SAB. If you're an MK fan then GF, but that would be the only reason in my mind. The dining options are limited right now, but there are still enough choices for creative dining. Of course, this is a YC/BC thread so we're all a little biased! Not to mention, you'll have to change your profile name from PolyAddict to YCAddict! :duck:

I've stayed at both resorts just last month and it was a lot easier to go to MK from the YC than to go to Epcot from the GF via Disney transportation. Once the Epcot monorail is open, things might get better.

Both resorts have pluses and minuses. It was lovely to be at the GF for the views and the ease of access to MK. But that is only one park. We really like being able to walk to Epcot and DHS from the YC, which is a big plus to us. :)

If you could please add us to the list, we will be back at the Yacht Club for a family trip in October. I reserved three studios at BCV with my points for my husband's family, while my husband and I will be at the Yacht Club. This way we are all close, and get to enjoy the pool together, but I also get a little space to decompress away from everyone too. Plus, if one of them decides not to go we can take over the studio and not lose the points.

YC October 14-21.
