Would love it the first post could include info on boat launches (MK area and Friendship boats). Are they not mentioned because they arrive too late to rope drop?

How does uber work for rope drop? If the parking lots don't open until 45 minutes prior how early should you get an uber? Uber costs are set right? So if you end up in line for a while you wouldn't pay more?

Guests are held outside the parks until approx 45 mins before official opening time. Until then buses, Skyliner and parking are held. Basically the only people who arrive earlier are those who walk to MK, Epcot and DHS and they are held at the temp check tents. Once they open the temp check approx 45 mins before park opening, the tap stiles are also open and guests can enter the park.

You can walk to Epcot and MK also . . . if you're staying at a resort that has a walkway to them. I understand people walk to MK from the Contemporary and Grand Floridian for rope drop daily.

They can and usally do 30-45 min early . But it can change anyday.

Typically the park has been opening 45-60 minutes prior to official opening to prevent large crowds congregating at the gates.

This is no longer working as even if you book a mobile order at the Boardwalk Bakery, most security officers will not grant you access to be dropped off.

Detailed answers should be able to be found on the transportation board. Link in first post. If any car arrives too early at DHS, they are turned back around. There are usually Orange County sheriff there, not allowing people to line up too early. I’m not sure about MK, AK, or Epcot. The one time we arrived early at MK there was just a long line of cars.

There is no security check at Swan/Dolphin. You can take a ride-share and be dropped there. We did it in January, walked to DHS, and were the very first on SDD.

To those of you rope dropping at WDW next week (week of Mon. 3/15) are you going to apply the general 45-minute early park arrival/rope drop rule to the new park hours? For example, if you are staying at Pop Century, will you be lining up for the MK bus 90 min. prior to the 8am opening???

Knowing now that you are walking, you can arrive when you wish knowing the park opens approx 45-60 mins before posted opening.

Around 45-60 mins before park opening various forms of transportation will arrive (buses, Skyliner, Friendship Boat, guests who drive). Some walking guests choose to arrive more than an hour before park opening and wait in line at the temp checks, knowing that the only guests there at that time are those who walk as all other forms of transportation are held until 45-60 mins before park opening.

Guests who are walking are the only ones who can control when they arrive as all others are determined by their form of transportation.

I would arrive no less than 60 minutes prior to posted opening time. There will be others walking with you by that time. We arrived a little over an hour prior by walking and were the first to load at SDD... in January.
