Do we really need the cursing on the Falcon and Winter Soldier?

No we don't. Don't get me wrong, I used to "curse like a sailor." Then we had our first child. IMO, it is extremely rare when a curse word is NEEDED. People only use curse words because it's "verboten". Think about it... why do you say the "F-word" and not "FUDGE!"? Habit? Because somehow it "means" more? Or because you're a "rebel"?
Because fudge sounds stupid.

It seems most shows are using it, And there is no reason for it
Sad but true.
These are more like the Netflix shows. I’m cool with it. Eventually your kids will swear a lot. No big deal. We all do it.
No, we don't all swear a lot -- or at all.
Or maybe we are all just desensitized. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Yes, and that doesn't say anything good about us as a society.
Because fudge sounds stupid.
Whereas curse words sound intelligent and cultured?

The most epic business meeting I have ever attended was when the boss three levels up had to have a meeting to apologize for his language. He presented lots of info showing it was a sign of intelligence and that productivity was greater at offices that freely cussed but that he would curtail his language. The meeting was so awkward and awesome at the same time.

This show has a TV rating of PG-16 (may contain strong violence, strong language, and strong sexual content). That’s equivalent to Rated R for film.

Eta, for reference, WandaVision PG-TV, Mandalorian PG-14
Thanks... I was considering watching it with DS6 but it’s gonna be a “no” now that I know the ratings.

John Walker just 🎼 decapitation America! 🎼 that one guy and your concern is the language?

This. I see a lot of "I wish I could watch this show with my kids but I don't want them to hear the swear words" comments and all I can think is...THAT'S the part you don't want your kids exposed to? :confused3

It's realistic dialogue to the situation. I find it more inauthentic to have characters in dangerous/horrible/tragic/whatever other situations and all they can say is "well darn!" Sorry, not happening in the real world.

And this. They're not swearing for shock value. It's appropriate for the characters and the situations. And it's not like they didn't swear in the movies.

Definitely not for kids. There have been a couple very violent scenes in the last two episodes. One in particular in the most recent episode that everyone's been talking about.

Again. I don’t know that they are going for authentic dialog when one guy is a 90 year-old metal armed super soldier. Who knows if that person would feel the need to swear?
I think it is marketing to a demographic. I hear my teens say the same thing “it’s more real”. Real? What is real in this scenario? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Are we confusing conversation that feels natural (to some people at least) with other aspects of any show? I mean just because there's fantasy elements to any show or movie doesn't mean there can't also be dialogue that you would hear that doesn't feel forced (well to some people at least).

So the violence and deaths somehow is fine for kids to watch but hearing words is not? I would think it would be both that would mean this show isn't meant to be watched with kids instead of just picking one issue over the other.

Both WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier are TV-14. I don't see a problem with that. Even Agent Carter was TV-14 at least on DisneyPlus's rating scale.
