Did you say nose picker or nose peeker? Our April 2021 trip! Update 8/19** complete!

Part 2, A Mini Epic Meet-up

It was time to head back to Epcot, we took the bus and we did have to wait about 20 minutes, boo šŸ˜’

I had been texting with Liesa and making a plan to meet up with her, KariLynn, and Ariana. I believe, they were at World Showplace trying some of the festival treats. Once we were in the park, we headed over that way. Andi and I took a few pictures with the Mickey and Minnie Topiary. I loved this area in front of the World Showplace.

The ladies had moved on to France so we headed there.

I did catch up to them and we spent some time visiting and did a photo shoot with a PhotoPass photographer.

Andi decided to let us visit for a few and she continued around the countries.

I said goodbye to the ladies after our pictures. We had an ADR at La Hacienda. I met up with Andi and we checked in on my phone. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated. Our table was right by the window but it was a very tiny 2 topper. We decided to start with a margarita and the guacamole with chips.
CD55639F-9590-4BC2-B0E3-4FE284874785.jpeg

Andi had the El Diablo margarita and I finally tried the famous avocado margarita. I have to say I had a love hate relationship with it. I would drink it and think this is weird, I donā€™t like it and then I would take another sip and think this is pretty good. As you can see, I am undecided šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
53BF71D5-0A44-4410-8799-F73451F94AD0.jpeg

I donā€™t think I would get this again. I think it was a texture issue for me. It was a strange texture to me.

Give me a regular lime margarita with patron tequila on the rocks anytime, I love that one.

Andiā€™s margarita was spicy, she enjoyed this.

The guacamole was tasty and fresh. We enjoyed this and decided to split the plant based chicken enchiladas.
49C5D9A7-CB10-4F64-9391-9645B598699A.jpeg

I liked the flavor and the texture of this was just like chicken. The black beans here are very tasty except you get way to much.

We enjoyed the meal and I would eat here again. The tables were spaced well and we had a very nice waiter.

We passed on dessert and headed towards the front of the park. The park was still rather busy.

We did stop at Spaceship Earth and took a few pictures by the fountain. It was very pretty.

We decided to take a Lyft back to the resort. We did have to wait about 15 minutes to find a driver. Once we did it was a quick ride back to the resort.

Once back we settled in for the night. Stay tuned for tomorrowā€™s adventures and the ongoing saga of the beeping noise. :crazy2:

Next post ā€œ Mom is Crashing the Falconā€

I forgot to give a run down on food costs for the first two days.

Day 1 $40.79 at El Mercado

Day 2 $144.75 for Flower & Garden and La Hacienda

I will put the totals in each day now, if I remember lol šŸ˜†

It's nice you got to have a DIS meetup in Epcot that afternoon. Your plant based chicken dinner looks really delicious; I'll have to add it to my infinite list of dishes to try at WDW.

I really like what they have done with the Epcot entrance.

You have got your trip off to a brilliant start (minus the beeping :confused3 ). Loving Andi's choice of beverage for her 1st legal disney drink and the fact that you got to meet some epic ladies :goodvibes

It looks like Minnie is patting you on the back. "There, there. I know Disney is expensive."
Great shot of everyone!
Must say I'm disappointed with Liesa... No chunkydump? What the heck?
Ariana is decked out with her beloved Pluto, though. :)
Andi decided to let us visit for a few and she continued around the countries.
Nice you got to visit for a bit. :)
Our table was right by the window but it was a very tiny 2 topper.
So... happy it's by a window, but would've preferred a larger table?

I've had similar where I've tasted something and said. "Nope!.... Wait... lemme try that again."

I haven't seen this yet. Live or in pictures. So is it basically just water flowing from the middle and then dropping off the sides?

It was so fun to see some of the Epic ladies!
The food was very enjoyable. I wouldnā€™t normally order a plant based dish and it was nice to try something different.
One nice thing about WDW is there are so many new dishes/treats to try each time we return.

Such a cute picture! Where did you get you polka dot skirt?
Thank you, this area with the topiary and flowers was so welcoming! I bought the skirt along with 3 other ones several years ago from Sparkle skirts. They are for runners (not me), so they have the spandex shorts underneath with big pockets, super comfortable. Su-Lynn and Renee wear these all the time.
Beautiful shot of the four of you!
It was so nice to find this photographer in this area and no one else was around. :thumbsup2
Your dinner looks delicious
It really was nice dinner and evening
really like what they have done with the Epcot entrance.
You will be surprised when you arrive, Epcot has changed so much along with the massive construction šŸš§ still going on!

You have got your trip off to a brilliant start (minus the beeping :confused3 ). Loving Andi's choice of beverage for her 1st legal disney drink and the fact that you got to meet some epic ladies :goodvibes
The beeping is so irritating, we have to become detectives to figure it out and lets just say it took a few days :sad2:
Andi really enjoyed all the different drinks she tried this trip. She has been drinking cheap stuff with her roomies during the pandemic šŸ˜· so she was loving this, lol šŸ˜†

It looks like Minnie is patting you on the back. "There, there. I know Disney is expensive."
That is so true and with buying drinks now, which I never did before, wow I have to work some overtime to pay for the gift cards!
Great shot of everyone!
Must say I'm disappointed with Liesa... No chunkydump? What the heck?
Ariana is decked out with her beloved Pluto, though.
It really was a nice meet up. The ladies all looked wonderful and they were enjoying their vacations. I love how Ariana has a purse to match each outfit! I forgot all about the Chunkydump!! :rotfl2:
Nice you got to visit for a bit.
Yes, it sure was. It is funny how you think oh no problem i can meet up with everyone and in reality it ends up not always working out for all so this was Nice. I do get to see Ariana a few more times and Liesa and KariLynn as well!
So... happy it's by a window, but would've preferred a larger table?
We got to see the new monstrosity black wheel in the water for the new firework show from our window. We needed to use the windo ledge for a few things because the table was so small, ugh!
That's... what an interesting taste experience!
I've had similar where I've tasted something and said. "Nope!.... Wait... lemme try that again."
It was almost greasy at times if that makes any sense at all. very weird texture

Remember we have delicious chocolate covered oreos in the room
I haven't seen this yet. Live or in pictures. So is it basically just water flowing from the middle and then dropping off the sides?
My picture of course isnā€™t the best but water runs along the columns, nothing sprays or bursts out, if that makes sense.
absolutely love this. That TA is sure special!!!!
You got that right Jenny!!

You didn't like the avocado margarita, what lol!!!!!!

But no I get it. I was SURE I wouldn't like it until I tried it but I understand the texture thing. And now since trying the cucumber margarita in Mexico last year which doesn't have that "different" texture, I actually prefer it over the avocado!

So nice you got to meet up with some of our friends :goodvibes Speaking of I really hope I get to see you in a couple weeks!

This was quick and we were at Epcot by 10am, we went through security and headed to Soarin. We decided to skip test track this morning. It was 10:20 am and we entered the Soarin line.
Great to know. I love the idea of sleeping in on Epcot days then being able to get on rides before the park even "opens."

It was time to try some Flower and Garden treats. We started at Trowel and Trellis. The Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji slaw and Kimchee Mayonnaise
F461AD9F-16BB-4CE2-9964-6595C44C6499.jpeg
I keep reading that this is so good. It sounds just so odd but we do love Korean food so will definitely have to give it a whirl.

Andi had her first adult beverage in Epcot. She went with the Bold Rock Watermelon hard cider. She enjoyed this. We liked it in here. It was quiet and cool and the bathrooms were clean, big, and empty! 2 more thumbs up šŸ‘

I still can't believe she is old enough to drink. Welcome to the club Andi :drinking1

So fun you ladies got to meet up. I should be able to see Jenny and Melinda next month and couldn't be happier about it.

I donā€™t think I would get this again. I think it was a texture issue for me. It was a strange texture to me.
E4E70F4A-55DB-419A-8071-877785127669.jpeg
I haven't had one of these for so long I'm not sure I even remember what it tastes like. The avocado definitely adds a different texture. I always thought it somehow ended up tasting like banana.

That is so true and with buying drinks now, which I never did before, wow I have to work some overtime to pay for the gift cards!
You have to work overtime if you want one drink in Disney.
Unless you want a normal amount of alcohol, then it's more.
Yes, it sure was. It is funny how you think oh no problem i can meet up with everyone and in reality it ends up not always working out for all so this was Nice

I do get to see Ariana a few more times and Liesa and KariLynn as well!

Well, that's not okay. Next time ask the waiter to stand and hold things for you.

:rolleyes1

Nah. Not a good enough excuse.
My picture of course isnā€™t the best but water runs along the columns, nothing sprays or bursts out, if that makes sense.
yes it does. :) Thanks!

Haha šŸ˜† The consistency of the avocado margarita was just weird to me. I kinda liked it. Like I said hard to say. :drinking1
I love cucumber I may need to try that one
It was nice to say hi to some of the Epic ladies.
I hope we do get to share a drink together and visit for a little. This will be so nice!

Great to know. I love the idea of sleeping in on Epcot days then being able to get on rides before the park even "opens."
I do like this, in June we have Epcot scheduled on our first full day and i am so excited we donā€™t have to get up early! Hopefully I will be ale to sleep in!
I keep reading that this is so good. It sounds just so odd but we do love Korean food so will definitely have to give it a whirl.
Try it Kari, you will love it!
I still can't believe she is old enough to drink. Welcome to the club Andi
you and me both, she is my baby! Wait til your little girl can share a drink with you. Time flies!
So fun you ladies got to meet up. I should be able to see Jenny and Melinda next month and couldn't be happier about it.
how fun for you ladies! i am hoping to see Ariane in June, we are planning to meet up for a drink, yay!
I haven't had one of these for so long I'm not sure I even remember what it tastes like. The avocado definitely adds a different texture. I always thought it somehow ended up tasting like banana.
It definitely was the texture for me at times it was almost greasy like, just weird!

Haha the kid is breaking me!
Oh, nice! :)

Well, that's not okay. Next time ask the waiter to stand and hold things for you.
Good idea, um please stand here and hold my drink since the table is so dang small. :rotfl:

Mom Is Crashing The Falcon

4/22/21

Today is Hollywood Studios Day, I was up early again around 5:30am, hearing the faint beeping. I was trying to figure out where it was coming from. I had no idea šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I got up and started to get ready. I woke Andi up at 6:45am. I wanted her to try for our RotR boarding passes. Andi said she could hear the beeping now. We didnā€™t have time to worry about it now, it was time to try for the coveted boarding group. Andi was successful with group 65. It wasnā€™t as good as our January boarding groups but we were glad to get one! We decided to take a Lyft to the park and arrived before 8:30am the security and temp check were nice and quick. The park was scheduled to open at 9am. We went straight to M&M railway, this was a walk on. I thought it was cute but my heart still belongs to GMR. We miss that ride so much.
FCE2C2E8-59C1-41FC-A9A4-12DE3768FAC0.jpeg

I did like the way the train broke apart and you experienced different parts of the ride. I would not wait more than 15-20 minutes for it.

We made our way to GE and rode smugglers run, this was also close to a walk on, waited maybe just 5 minutes.

3641CE4E-D3F9-4843-BA52-F1C3E305AC92.jpeg

We were pilots and it was so much more fun than the other positions. I was not the best pilot, Andi sent a picture to Jack saying mom is crashing the Falcon.

I was excited to find the PhotoPass for Grogu, it was so fun and the CM was really good. I wish Andi would have removed her mask, oh well, still a fun picture.

C3EA8F29-8299-4353-A19C-DFB39811EA1E.jpeg

We walked over to TSL. TSM had a low wait time and we jumped in line, this was about a 10 minute wait, so fun.

409552FF-806D-4F2B-8B61-08DA7E078884.jpeg

During our wait, I placed a mobile order at Woodyā€™s lunch box, We wanted to try the plant based totchos and the pick up time was around 11am.
It was only around 9:15am, we had done 3 rides and the park had just opened. We decided to do SDD, the line was not that long and we knew it would just get longer as the morning went on. We waited about 35 minutes, the wait was posted at 60 minutes. I love this rollercoaster it is definitely my speed.
5877CDB6-EF5D-41F1-8379-1B6AE9E47B74.jpeg

We decided to ride TSM again after SDD and then it was time to get our mobile order. The area is roped off and you canā€™t sit at the lunchbox unless you have a reservation.
We were able to find a table and we split the totchos. The plant based totchos were very tasty, there were a little spicy. It did give me a little indigestion and repeated on me. Iā€™m not sure if this was the plant based option or if the regular ones would have done the same thing.
DFB2DAEE-3BED-4DAD-B80B-B0F9C9DD90A3.jpeg
We walked over to the Launch Bay Area next and it was so quiet over her. I used the restroom. The park was busy. ToT was down, boo šŸ˜’ and everything else had really long waits. We decided to ride the Skyliner to pass some time. Stay tuned for Skyliner cruisin, coming up very soon!

Next post Do Skyylinerā€™s crash, um I guess so, yikes!!!

Haha the kid is breaking me!

Good idea, um please stand here and hold my drink since the table is so dang small. :rotfl:

From what I've heard... I'm betting I'll have the same reaction.
What a great shot!!
I did like the way the train broke apart and you experienced different parts of the ride
Didn't know it did that. Huh!
We made our way to GE and rode smugglers run, this was also close to a walk on, waited maybe just 5 minutes.
:sad2:
5 minutes.

Wasn't this hours long, not that long ago???
Andi sent a picture to Jack saying mom is crashing the Falcon.

Here I am crashing the Falcon, :rotfl:
Pull up Caroline! Pull uppppppp!!!!
So who's responsible for his safety???
TSM had a low wait time and we jumped in line, this was about a 10 minute wait, so fun.
10 minutes...
Another ride that's seen hour + waits...
The area is roped off and you canā€™t sit at the lunchbox unless you have a reservation.
good idea, actually.

I've heard good things about the totchos. Not sure if it was the plant based ones or not, though.
ToT was down, boo šŸ˜’
:(
Not okay.
Next post Do Skyylinerā€™s crash, um I guess so, yikes!!!
Apparently... yes!

Do Skylinerā€™s crash?

We took the Skyliner for a ride to CBR and transferred to the POP line. The hub area at CBR was very busy, the line for the Epcot route was huge. We decided to head towards the Pop/AOA line. We were the only ones in that line, yay! We had never rode the Skyliner over there. It is a nice ride over the lake.
4D098B1B-FD4E-4989-B56E-A514ADC5676A.jpeg
We decided to walk around AOA. We started walking around the Finding Nemo section and bumped into KariLynn. She was heading back to her room. They had been upgraded to a Nemo room. Liesa was AK at this time. We chatted for a few minutes. Andi and I headed over to the Cars section next. I love this area. It feels like you are really in Radiator Springs. It was quiet over there and only a few people in the pool.
B010A7B6-C0B0-472F-ACED-B9BC902785A5.jpeg
We took a few pictures and leisurely walked around.
8ABAA8E1-24B3-400A-88D0-D15380373609.jpeg
We worked our way back to the Skyliner. It was time to head back to Hollywood. It was getting closer to our boarding group time. We really enjoyed riding the Skyliner and didnā€™t have a care in the world. Later in the day, we found out that several gondolas crashed into each other at Hollywood studios. It was several hours later but I am so glad we were not stuck on the Skyliner for hours! Andi, with her warped thinking, šŸ¤” wished we would have been on it, to get something free from Disney. Haha šŸ˜‚

We returned to HS and stopped in the Trolley Cafe. Andi had a cold brew and I had a refresher. We went to sit by the Indiana Jones area to drink our beverages. A cavalcade started going by and we hurried over to see a few characters, I couldnā€™t get the best pictures. We did see Sully, Buzz, Woody, Jess, and Edna Mode. It was really cute. I loved the music and the characters were having a good time. We went back to finish our drinks by Gertie.

Our group was called for Rise around 1pm. The preshow was down so we were escorted to the part with the stormtroopers and on to the ride. This made the wait very quick, and we were off the ride by 1:30pm. At first, Andi and I thought this was the way the ride was now in COVID-19 times, however, Ariana let me know this was not normal and the preshow does still happen. I was happy to hear that since the preshow is such an important part of the ride. We did get to see a little bit of a back stage area. This is always fun for us Disney addicts.
AAB72C67-0051-4DD6-B37C-6A13A13212C3.jpeg
We decided to head back to the hotel for a little rest. We had an early dinner ADR at Wine Bar George. Our rest time was short today, only about an hour. We got ready and went down to the bus area and did not have to wait long for a pretty empty DS bus. DS was busy, not crazy but definitely busy. At this time, masks were still required everywhere except your room. We did see less compliance here than at the parks. It really didnā€™t bother me. I think passing by people quickly is hardly risky, plus we are vaccinated.
We asked to sit on the balcony at WBG except when we got out there it was so hot and the sun was beating down on our table. We did move indoors, we were seated in the upstairs room close to the bar. It was a nice spot. I had heard great things about the wine slushies. Andi had the Dolewhip frozen drink and I had the Frose with rose wine and vodka, both were good, Andiā€™s was the clear winner. I would do the Dolewhip drink next time!

My Frose.
We split the Mac and cheese balls and the burrata. Both of these dishes are so delicious. I also had the meatballs with the polenta. Yummy. The meatballs were so good. I was neutral on the polenta, however, I would get this again because of the meatballs.

We went to Uniqlo and Andi bought a few shirts. I looked at the line for Gideonā€™s and decided to skip it at this time. We did go into Sprinkles and bought 2 cupcakes. A red velvet and strawberry.
664DB2AF-3110-490C-965F-7747FF7D8412.jpeg
We decided to head back to our room. The wait for the bus was about 15 minutes and we headed back on an empty bus šŸšŒ. The resort area outside was very busy. We found a little bar area serving drinks in the courtyard. We decided to get a couple margaritas. It took a long time because it was quite busy. There was a man playing a guitar and singing. It was really nice. I went with a traditional lime margarita on the rocks and Andi had a flavored blended one. I canā€™t remember if it was Strawberry or Raspberry. We hung out down in this area for a little while longer listening to the music. We then went up to the room to finish our drinks and put on our Detective šŸ•µļøā€ā™€ļø badges. We had to find this stupid beeping noise. Well, we figured out it was the fire alarm. It was above the digital thermostat and does not look like a traditional fire alarm.

Once we covered it with a towel the beeping was gone. Well, we couldnā€™t stand there all night holding a towel over it šŸ˜” I called the front desk and a comedy of errors started.

First the CM could not understand what I was talking about. She kept saying do you need batteries for the alarm? Finally she said she would contact maintenance and they would call me back. Well about an hour later they called and again said they would bring us some batteries :confused3

I explained again no batteries please just stop the incessant beeping. Two maintenance men came up to the room and both knew what I was talking about as soon as I said beeping in the alarm. They talked to each other for a minute and we did get the gist that this has been happening and they thought all the alarms had been fixed but of course this was not true. So guess what the fix was, packing tape applied over the alarm. Andi and I thought this was so funny. We started our saying, Disneyā€™s cheap fixes during a pandemic, to save money, lol šŸ˜† You know what, the clear packing tape worked and the beeping was muffled enough we did not hear it anymore. Thank goodness. We watched some mindless TV and enjoyed our cupcakes. I had the strawberry and it was so delicious šŸ˜‹ Andi enjoyed the red velvet one. Another day in the books šŸ“š Stay tuned for our next dayā€™s adventures, coming up soon.

Itā€™s not to early to wait for a drink at 10:30am is it?

Nice! Now 35 minutes is NOT bad at all in my eyes especially if the line kept/keeps moving! I'm happy with no FP's honestly and don't even mind a 45 minute wait when we keep walking.
The wait was not bad at all, it did take some convincing to get Andi in these longer lines but she even agreed not bad! I agree about moving, it makes the wait much better, I haTE coming to a complete standstill, yuck!
You've certainly paid enough for it to be entitled to a personal slave.
Exactly, I donā€™t nderstand why he didnā€™t want to do this, :rotfl2:
Ugh! I have to wait more to find out what it is????
See above and the beeping has been solved!
From what I've heard... I'm betting I'll have the same reaction.
RIP GMR, I love you ā¤ļø too much?
Wasn't this hours long, not that long ago???
