A Last Hurrah Trip! We just didn't know it at the time. (A Pre-COVID Trip Report)

I’m so glad you all tried Satuli and really liked it.
I need to get your favorite drink in August, sounds like my favorite type of drink. I love a summer hummer, which is vodka and pink lemonade.
How funny about the elf in Pandora, lol 😆

Hi Everyone!!! Sorry that I have been mia. I feel like I am just all in or all out on the boards these days! Work has been fairly busy and we have been doing more on the weekends, so my dis time has shrunk a bit... But I guess that is a good thing right?

Day Four: MORE Food?!?

After our lunch, we wandered around Pandora a bit. And the girls played the drums for a little.
IMG_7126

IMG_7126
But that didn't last long. It was a little after 1:00 and we had our last fast pass of the day at 1:30 -2:30 for Flight of Passage. So, I didn't want to go to far from the area. So, I suggested we try out Nomad Lounge.

This has been something I have wanted to try many trips but it just never works out. So, we headed over that way. This is pre-covid, so we were told to grab any open table.
IMG_0956

We able to grab a table inside but were short a chair. And we made Gwen sit on a a stool. But she got over it eventually.
IMG_0956
I do think me and Gwen were sitting on ottomans basically, so NOT the most comfortable, but we made it work.

It was def relaxing in there and I would love to go again if we could get a nicer seating set up.

Cheers to vacation!
IMG_0956

I ordered the Annapurna Zing.
Annapurna Zing - Bombay Sapphire Gin, Passion Fruit Purée, Mint, Simple Syrup, and Lime Juice topped with Ginger Beer and a glowing Lotus Flower
IMG_0966
I knew this came highly recommended by Kari. And it was good but I am not sure I am a gin drinker...

Morgan ordered Zingiber Fizzie
Passion Fruit Purée, Mint, Simple Syrup, and Lime Juice topped with Ginger Beer ( basically my drink with no alchol) She liked it enough...

Andy ordered the Hightower rocks
Hightower Rocks - Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila, Watermelon, Sweet-and-Sour, and Lime Juice
He liked this! That is all I can remember at this point...

Gwen ended up with water since she didn’t want something with soda in it. But then ordered something.. PIneapple Juice and Water or something.... And I gave her my glow cube.
IMG_0964

We also ordered Bread Service to snack on and churros for the girls.

We had just eaten but I really wanted to try the bread service here,
Tiffins Bread Service - Red Pepper Hummus, Spicy Coriander Yogurt, Ginger-Pear Chutney
IMG_0970
This was good but not as good as bread service at Sanaa, which isn't suprising.... But spoiler alert, it was a double bread service day!

Churros - Vanilla Crema, Chili-Strawberry
IMG_7130
The girls enjoyed the churros. I think we let them eat them.. The strawberry sauce def had a kick to it. The girls didn’t like the strawberry because of that. But they were fine with the vanilla crema and just plain!

We spent about an hour just relaxing before heading out.
IMG_7130

It was a nice way to kill the time we needed before our fast pass opened up. While we sat we talked about our plan for the rest of the afternoon. We had dinner reservations at 5:30 and we knew we didn't want to go back to the hotel before that.

We left around 2:00 and made the quick walk over to FOP.
IMG_0984 \

IMG_0984
And were listening to his ummmmms by 2:15!

After flying on our banshee, the girls checked out the dump shop. Gwen still hadn’t gotten her one thing and it was burning a hole in her pocket.
Gwen ended up getting a baby navi plush. Plush # 3! You know, the ones that come with the baby blanket wrapped around it. This one, I really could have done with out. But.... somehow we still ended up buying it. And Morgan got a bracelet. It was a nice rope braclet with some blue beads on it.

We had 2 destinations in mind to finish off the day. First was the drawing class at Rafiki Planet Watch. So, we headed that way next.

We were on a train just a little before 3:00.
IMG_0988
I tried to get a nice family selfie...

IMG_0988
Apparently we gained a family member! The guy thought he was hilarious... good times...

We sat down for the class at 3:10. They gave us a clip board and pencil.

This is what the paper looked like: IMG_0991 Any quesses as to what we were going to draw? I think we all tried to guess and all guessed wrong.

It was hopper from bug's life. And let me tell you, the crew was not excitied about this. We aren't big bug's life fans... And it turned out to SUPER HARD. I think about half way through I remembered that I think I heard that the classes start out easier and get progressively harder as the day goes on. And this was the last class of the day.

Gwen's thoughts on drawing Hooper...

IMG_0991
Andy and Morgan did love doing the class again.

IMG_0991
And they continue to be the better drawers of the family..

I think this was mine:

Day Four: Last of Animal Kingdom

I know I said we had 2 things left to do but I lied... NOW we had 2 things left to do! We grabbed the train back to the main area and headed to the Gorilla Trail.
IMG_1003

I knew there was a baby gorilla at the time and we wanted to see if we could see the baby.

IMG_1014
And we were successful!

IMG_1014
I always kind of feel bad for the Gorillas. You can tell they are smarter than most animals... The Mom def wanted to have the baby on display but not TOO Much....

IMG_1018
We stayed and looked at the baby for a good while but then finally moved on to our last destination.

I wanted to stop in Zuri's Sweet Shop to pick up some treats for late!
IMG_1018

IMG_1018

I picked out both the Banana Milk Chocolate Bark & the Dark Chocolate Chili Bark. (both shaped in mickey heads) I ate tiny bits of this while we were in Disney. I love both! I ate most of it once we were home. The Chili Bark had a BIG punch to it! So a little went along way!
IMG_1055

Morgan picked a piece of Peanut Butter Fudge.

And Gwen picked a giant Chocolate Chip Mickey Shaped Cookie. You know, the ones the size of your head!
IMG_1054=
(Picture later that night after dinner, showered and ready for bed)

With treats picked out, we headed out of the park and to the buses.
IMG_1018

Up next DINNER!!!

That drink sounds right up Casey's alley. Not sure why but I think we've only been here once. I never even remember its ther
It really was a hidden gem of a kid drink!

I so missed this. We got next to no family photos because we didn't have PhotoPass. I'd never pay for it but it was a great AP perk
Ugh I know! It is so $$$ to buy on it's own!

Though it doesn't look like they are doing this anymore or at least not at Boardwalk. We didn't see one all week.
I always felt bad for thost CM. They were basically going to get yelled at by someone....

need to get your favorite drink in August, sounds like my favorite type of drink. I love a summer hummer, which is vodka and pink lemonade.
I think you would like it, not too strong.

How funny about the elf in Pandora, lol 😆
I don't judge, do what you need to do. But man if looks could kill Gwen would have killed that family!

I need one of those in my life right now.
RIght?!?! Me Too! ANY Disney snack would be great right about now!

This has been something I have wanted to try many trips but it just never works out. So, we headed over that way.

I want to do this too someday.

Cheers to vacation!

The drinks looks so colorful and good, even the water.

We spent about an hour just relaxing before heading out.

This really worked out well for y'all.

IMG_0988
Apparently we gained a family member! The guy thought he was hilarious... good times...

Love this!

IMG_0991
Gwen's thoughts on drawing Hooper...

She has the best expressions.

And they continue to be the better drawers of the family..

I think y'all all did well.

I wanted to stop in Zuri's Sweet Shop to pick up some treats for late!

I've never thought of doing this. Thanks for the idea. I've stopped in Epcot, DHS and MK to bring sweets back but never here.

I want to do this too someday.
This would be perfect for when you are on your solo trip! To me, it's a perfect place to get something to small to eat. there is a bar area as well, that you could sit at by yourself. I know Lesley says she likes sitting at the bar when she dines by herself sometimes.

I've never thought of doing this. Thanks for the idea. I've stopped in Epcot, DHS and MK to bring sweets back but never here.
I think it will how have to be a must stop for us. The stuff in there is so fun and different as well. I think it gets over looked alot!

Now that sounds like a good day! :cloud9:

I think about half way through I remembered that I think I heard that the classes start out easier and get progressively harder as the day goes on. And this was the last class of the day.
I'll have to keep that in mind and plan to arrive for the earlier classes

I'm so glad you made it to the Nomad Lounge -- I still haven't been but really want to try someday! :drinking1 Sounds like a great afternoon in AK overall too :thumbsup2

We love French Quarter! We def perfer it over Port Orleans. POR is much larger. There is something super quant about the pretend streets of FQ. We stayed at POR for 3 nights in August 2019, and the rooms there were in need of a refurb. Which really turned us off to the whole resort. But I know there are people who love POR.
We stayed in POR oct 2019 and the rooms had been refurbed! So they probably hadn't gotten to your section yet. Going to miss staying at POR this time.

After our lunch, we wandered around Pandora a bit. And the girls played the drums for a little.
They have these "off" right now and Casey was not happy about it. I'm sure there is a covid angle in there somewhere but if everyone has to hold onto the same railings on rides and in queues I'm not sure why the drums can't work.

It was def relaxing in there and I would love to go again if we could get a nicer seating set up.
So happy you all finally got there. Seating can be hit or miss but I'd rather be sitting on a stool in Nomads than just about anywhere else

I knew this came highly recommended by Kari. And it was good but I am not sure I am a gin drinker...
Gin is definitely not for everyone. Thankfully it is for me though :rotfl2:

IMG_0970
This was good but not as good as bread service at Sanaa, which isn't suprising.... But spoiler alert, it was a double bread service day!
This is definitely no Sanaa but still good especially for only $10

IMG_0984
And were listening to his ummmmms by 2:15!
This is another thing that isn't working (the ummm guy not the ride). I've never been happier not to have hear him

IMG_0988
Apparently we gained a family member! The guy thought he was hilarious... good times...
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm probably not supposed to think he's hilarious but can't help it

IMG_0991
Gwen's thoughts on drawing Hooper...
Oh my her face just says it all!!!! Pretty sure my face looks just like that anytime drawing something is required

IMG_1018
We stayed and looked at the baby for a good while but then finally moved on to our last destination.
 Adorable

After our ride, we checked out the dump store. This has become one of Morgan's favorite stores. It really has some nice non-disney stuff!

That's my favorite shop in AK…I got Allie llama socks there for her stocking and they're so cute!

I am happy to report that Gwen said this was THE BEST Mac and Cheese she has had on Disney property.... It was really good. Especially coming from a stand.

I just heard this reopened but we've never tried it. I'll be on the lookout next time!

We had one more fast pass, at 1:30 for Flight of Passage

I reallllllyyyy miss FP

I tried to get a nice family selfie...

Apparently we gained a family member! The guy thought he was hilarious... good times...

Lol! At least he's easy to cut out :thumbsup2

All of your Hoppers look pretty great to me! I haven’t tried the drawing class yet but I’ll have to when we go in February (if my daughter lets me 😂 she’ll be 13 months when we go).
