I'd probably tread lightly if buying only/mainly gift cards. But I'm somewhat risk averse.

My spend is lower than that at least. I was thinking, since the payment at AMEX will be coming from Paypal, would Paypal send them info on what was in the Target order? I would only do about $300 on top of my grocery order, which is over $100 on its' own.

I just need an Amazon card, wasn't planning on doing more than 100. I'll just grab one when I'm out tomorrow and make it easier.

It looks like the Amex Hilton Biz 180k offer is back my friends! This is available via support link (not sure if other affiliate/public links have it). I'm very intrigued personally...

So if you do the math, you'll earn a minimum of 210k Hilton points for spending $10k... (Because you also get 3x Hilton base points on every $1 spent). You could earn even more if you hit the bonus categories in meeting your MSR.

It also was pointed out that if you spend $15k you then earn a Free Night Certificate (FNC). So in total you could get 225k Hilton points + a FNC for spending $15k. I didn't even realize I wanted Hilton points... but now I'm suddenly interested! And I can transfer points between spouses so if we both do this... it'd be quite Hilton stash!!
UGH - we both got the popup when attempting this..... me and my wife, lol! I guess this is why I just stick to my friend Chase!

Short trip planned for Labor Day week. I cut this down from 7 days to just 3. Drive to Frankenmuth for one night, 2 nights in Traverse City (visit Sleeping Bear Dunes). What is it like in Michigan right now? I am planning on take out food for the most part. Are restaurants open? Thanks.

Anyone have experience with the UR Hotel credits? I booked a hotel using the travel portal and am curious how long it typically takes for the credit to show. This is for the new $50 hotel credit on the CSP.

I posted this on FlyerTalk, but it's a pretty inactive thread so I was wondering if anyone here has had similar experience? I suspect it's a rare card on this board, although I think Calypso has it?

My husband and I both signed up for the Chase British Air credit card last year (we are on year two of the card), and we have had a horrible time trying to get the award flight credits to trigger. I believe out of the 7 or 8 qualifying award flights we've charged with the cards, only 1 has triggered the credit automatically--of course it was the only economy award.

We got these credit cards mainly to take advantage of the credit as we fly a lot on Business or First award flights. Since we fly from SFO, the taxes are in the $600-$700 range on each ticket (the qualifying flight must be from US to UK so only good one way). I wonder if that is the problem, i.e. the charges are so large BA's system doesn't recognize them as award flight taxes? I have no clue, but I'm so tired of the run-around. Typically, I secure message Chase, they try to send me to BA, I get someone at BA who sends me back to Chase, etc. It's a frustrating experience with no one taking responsibility or seemingly able to fix it. As it happens on both my and my husband's separate cards, it seems to be a system problem. I would love to know if anyone else has had problems and who it is best to ask for/talk to. Until now, basically, I wear Chase down with my emails until they manually apply the credit. But it's a serious PITA. I've love to know who to ask for and who to talk to. I assume someone at BA, but the agents I get are absolutely clueless.

When you refer a friend for CSP and they apply and receive the card, should you see the 20,000 bonus UR points listed as "pending" somewhere? I referred DH last week and he was instantly approved (it looks like his card is arriving today based on USPS Informed Delivery). I know he used my link because I watched him do it, but I don't see points pending for the referral anywhere. If it doesn't end up showing up after my next statement closes, how do I go about requesting them?

Finally got an estimate from the tile guy for my master bath. He'll demo and do the tile and a nice tile shower. Then I'll work with cabinet company, electrician, plumber, painter, etc. And I'm pretty comfortable that I can get this done within my budget--yippee. No new cards until my refi closes but then I'll need one or two:)

I can take a few weeks to show pending, and they will show up on Tuesday evening. You'll probably see them on the 7th if not the following Tuesday.

OK, thanks. I'm glad to hear that they probably wouldn't have shown up yet (I hate taking the time to deal with customer service about stuff like this!) And they always show on a Tuesday? That's...random. LOL!

That’s great… the work on my master bathroom starts on Monday…he says it will be done by the end of the week…fingers crossed it is….he’s coordinating his electrician and plumber…the rest of the work he does…
we did buy the tile, toilet, sink etc…too many choices and I’m still trying to decide on the floor tile…DH likes one that has a design in black, gray and white…while I was looking to go more neutral with a gray wood look tile

I have had the card twice but never charged the taxes on an award flight to it. I always charged to the CSR. I would assume this is a Chase issue though. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

I need to go to the tile place next week. I kind of like 12"x24"porcelain tile (not slippery) that looks like stone but I more like warm colors (travertine look) but I know cool colors (like carrara marble) are more in style. And I really like tile that looks like wood for the floor too but I'm not sure I can pull that off. I'm thinking mine will take up to four weeks. Apparently the frameless shower door slows things down. Hopefully not much longer. I hope your project goes well--keep us updated.
