As our trip to MCO gets closers and I think I have everything in order I start to second guess myself.

I contacted the Shopper's near our home in Ontario and received the following reply from them:

"We do offer the rapid antigen test at our location on a walk-in basis. Its a $40 charge per test per person. Please double check to make sure that they will accept this test for travel purposes as they all have different requirements and we do not provide any guarantee. "

This reply got me thinking. They call it a "screening" not a "test" on the web site.

Has anyone had any problems with the USA using this screening/test?

Travel has become so complicated. Argh!!

I used it for our trip 2 weeks ago and had no issues and plan to use it again for our trip on the 25th

Thank you all for the replies.

Shoppers tomorrow (Friday) for our Rapid Antigen screening/test. Flying to MCO on Sunday for two weeks.

I'm going to give a Pharmasave a try this week - one near my house says they have antigen testing for $30 and are advertising it for travel down south. ...I'm going to call tomorrow to see about getting an appointment for Thursday (I fly Sunday), I'm worried about testing increasing due to the not a vaccine passport vaccine passport program starting in Alberta that might make these places busier.

We used Pharmasave for our trip at the end of August. It was $50 for ours here in Calgary but it's close to my house so I chose it instead of the $40 one available at Shopper's.

To answer my own question .... YES the RAPID Antigen screening at Shoppers is good.

We traveled to MCO today from Pearson. We did the Rapid Antigen screening test at Shoppers on Friday evening and got the results in 15 minutes. We submitted them to AC on Saturday as soon as check in was available. No questions asked by AC or US Border services, Smooth sailing. So the answer is YES, the Shoppers Rapid Antigen Screening Test is A-OK.

Now flying Ac Rouge, well that's another story. The seat legroom is comparable to SPIRIT in the USA, a sardine can. Looking forward to when w are able to cross the border and fly from DTW to MCO on Delta.

Me too... the cheapest I have found close to us is $120
I had one booked in a clinic for $80 (antigen) but they shut down for 2 weeks. I think they may have had an outbreak. They referred me to another travel clinic near me, their test is $110 😣 and YVR is $129. Since I can’t get the cheaper $80 test, I probably would just go to YVR except I have an early morning flight so won’t work.

To all BC peeps who are being ripped off - please, please, write to Shoppers et al and express your feelings about the inequity in pricing here compared to elsewhere. We're getting gouged, big time. I've written to a number of places. Please, do the same? These tests will be with us for a long time, I'm thinking, and it's completely unfair that BC is the outlier when it comes to the pricing.

I'd love to know the ins and outs too! Our flights are booked, but wondering how all the testing will work. We have mixed vaccines, so hoping that October travel will still be doable!

Glad its not only me. I really want this trip to go. So I can face the fear.

Sounds like we were in the same boat! I was booked with Integrated Wellness and they shut down and referred us to Bon Voyage. We did our rapid antigen tests there today (yes for $110) but they had lots of appointments available and they were super professional and we had our results emailed to us in 30 mins!

I went to a Pharmasave in Edmonton that just happened to be near my house, it was walk-in. The owner has a pretty hopping business going on between antigen testing and vaccinations. I don't think all phrmasaves are same, but this one it was only $30 and I went back for my results an hour later and received a paper result to use for travel. He is specifically targeting advertising to those travelling to the US.

That is great!!! I'm so jealous. I wish I could find something in BC for under $100 each
