*** Official OCTOBER 2021 Countdown Group - HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY WDW! ***

If you look today, the 1p queue is still open…I just checked at 4:15p. Says wait 240 mins so that would be 8p if all goes according to plan.
Thanks. I did post on a Remy board that I saw they were still open in the afternoon. I just couldn't recall whether non "original" Epcot reservation ppl could get a BG. I'm curious for 2 scenarios, both assuming BGs are still available:
1. If I'm sitting at HS at 1pm EST, could I get a BG?
2. If I'm checked into the Epcot turnstiles at Park hopper 2pm, could I get a BG?

Clearly if option 1 works, that would be ideal.

It's option 2! You have to be scanned into Epcot for the 1pm ET boarding group distribution.

Genie starts on 10/19. My trip ends on 10/18. How do you late October folks feel about it?

I mentioned this just now in another thread, but if you are going to WDW in late October, you should not worry as long as Touring Plans crowd calendar ends up being accurate. My entire trip's (October 23rd thru November 2nd) crowd calendar all went down recently from 4 and 5's to 1 and 2's on weekdays and 4's on weekends. So I'm not too worried. I will definitely pay attention to the crowds and wait times, and change my plans if things get bad with standby times. If I do get Genie+, it will only be for one day at end of trip at MK.

Our same thoughts exactly!

We are there from Oct 24th to 29th. I'm glad to have a few days to read the "here and now" reports from people who are using it. I don't think we will need to buy Genie+ for every day, but we'll see how things are going. There are too many unknowns right now to make any decisions.

If we hadn't missed the date, I would have got it at HS and for Remy. Maybe at MK if we didn't get everything done at Boo Bash. I look forward to hearing from all of you that use it though!

We leave in 12 days and with all the flights being cancelled with Southwest. I am debating if I should just book with another airline, or just take the gamble stay with SW

My son just flew home on SWA tonight. He said no one mentioned there were flight cancellations. Didn't see any on the board either. My guess is he just stuck to his ticket.

My sister and her fam have been at WDW since Saturday....she is very smart (I say this because I'm indicating she can easily figure out an app and how to navigate WDW things), but isn't a crazy Disney person like many of us....she's had all sorts of issues and this morning the CM she talked to at the GR window (outside Epcot entrance) said sorry I can't help.....WHAT!!!!! She's going inside the park to try for a better CM. The biggest issue for her is their memory maker only showed 2 pictures....from 2 full park days. I feel so bad for her. a new issue today - I "taught" her how to do the BG for Remy; the system wouldn't let her in; said she didn't have a park res. I know she does because I set it up on her MDE myself.

oh man!!!!!!!!!!! how am I going to get through this week???

Between feeling guilty/sad about boarding our cat, nervous about flying, wondering on the weather, packing, work....I'm about to crawl out of my skin!!! :D

I'll tell ya, with all the trials and tribulations with this trip, I won't believe it's happening until I'm sitting on Magical Express...

but I keep reminding myself and fam....we ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! lol

The one thing that bothered me on our trip were those third party buses being used for transport between the resorts and the parks.

Sure, they're comfortable, but more than once I had drivers camp out at the bus stop as though they were trying to fill it up like they do for M.E. It was so bad that the normal Disney buses had to sit and wait for the spot to open. Not talking about an extra 3 minutes, more like 10. Keep in mind these vehicles also cannot take on ecvs, so the wait is also making the scooter lines longer for the next bus.

Overall, I loved my trip. It was very relaxing without any fastpasses or many dining reservations to deal with. I only kept one the entire trip. Ogas. :)

I've decided to "splurge" this trip and not deal with any bus nonsense. Thanks for this update. I found a driver who has been wonderful for my family of 6. We pay him a very fair rate (nearly comparable to Lyft/Uber); but he guarantees me to get a vehicle large enough for 6 and he is always on time. This will be our 3rd trip using him; but this trip we are using him almost every day, whereas in the past, we've used him sparingly while doing my best to optimize Disney transportation.

For those there now or this past week, have wait times really been high? We were there 9/30 and 10/1 and I know 10/1 at MK was a different kind of day for the rides but on 9/30 we had very low wait times in the other 3 parks with hopping around. Now looking it seems a lot busier when looking at the times app and I am curious if wait times are matching up, if anyone has noticed, or if maybe they are being inflated the past few days to encourage purchasing Genie next week.
