What's your supply chain issue? How's this one for a start?

Toilet paper still. Barely any in stock. Haven’t seen Angel Soft TP in stock for months now.

Dryer sheets. Was surprised a bit on this one.

Philly Cream Cheese.

Midori, Ciroc, & Knob Creek. Bars / Resorts are buying it up from all major liquor stores in the area so they can stay in business.

Lettuce that doesn’t spoil in 2 days or way before their Best Buy/Use date. Same with meat, it’s been spoiling way before their Best Buy/Use date. I know with lettuce it’s wildfires and droughts. Meat probably short staff so quality and checks aren’t there.

Furniture. Canceled a furniture order because it will take months.

Vehicle repairs that could be put off we’re doing immediately because of shortage on parts especially for older vehicles.

Definitely looking into more made in US household and furniture items going forward. Going to shop antique shops as well to see if we can find some sturdy furniture.

PP is right America is going to have to permanently make some major changes. Our focus is walkability and bus access. Which we currently have in rental yet there’s a huge increase there soon so we’ll see.

Raisins. We like regular old plain raisins, and the Great Value brand at WalMart are just fine, so we usually choose those to save a little when we can, and Sun Maid if we can't find the GV ones.

The past couple of weeks our closest WalMart didn't have either, not in any size, including the little individual boxes. They only had specialty ones, like yogurt or chocolate covered, and not many of those.

The other day I noticed Shop Rite was practically wiped out of cream cheese, both blocks and tubs of whipped. They had blocks of SR brand widely spaced to make the case appear a bit full.

Specifically I was looking for Kraft (Philadelphia) whipped cream cheese with veggies. Nope. SR brand would have been OK, but the only tubs available were with salmon or other yucky flavors.
There's been a cream cheese shortage at Publix for a couple weeks. The other day they had a few tubs and the garden/veggie one was one that was back in stock. That was the one of the ones I was also looking for. Send some of the salmon down here, I like that one. :)

We haven't ben able to find chocolate graham crackers for a couple months now...seems like an odd thing to be out of. I also noticed no Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese at the store today. Had to buy a different brand....nothing we can't live without but it is scary to think what happens when it's more important things that are difficult to find.

Companies have really cut back on their variety of products. So they might not be making them at this time, or if they are, it could be in reduced quantities. I work as a shopper and the variety of products has really gone down. On top of that, it is hit or miss what comes in. One day we can be completely out of all ketchup, and then get a shipment in 2 weeks later. Everything is just a mess right now.

I went to Costco Thursday (senior hour in the morning) to order my biennial pair of glasses, one regular, one sunglasses, both tri-focal. Costco is the 5th largest optical supplier in the US.

The employee taking care of me looked up my account and record and then asked if I would like either bifocals or Transitions. I thought I knew what Transitions were, but asked to confirm my thoughts. She said what I thought they were, lenses that adapt to the lighting conditions, clear to dark, dark to clear. I replied no, neither, I would like my usual (for over 30 years now) trifocal regular and trififocal sunglasses.

She said that it would be at least several more weeks to fill that order, all the lens blanks used for trifocals are on ships out in the Pacific waiting to unload. She said it's been a long time since they have had trifocals availabe for the normal one week or less delivery time. She said they were hoping for supplies before December. So, I will be wearing my 2 year old glasses for some time yet. 8-)

I guess the supply chain issues are deep and wide, even in places I would not have thought of.

How about you, have you had any supply chain issues in the past year?
Have you looked at Zeiss lenses...they come from Germany.

I was in a Sherwin Williams this week.

Another customer came in and asked "Is this store closing?" The employee said "No, just low inventory. Supply chain issues. "

Groceries are hit or miss. We are not going hungry, but do have to substitute somethings some times.

We are another who wanted to buy 2 cars this year, but haven't due to prices and shortages.

Instead, we are building a deck that we've talked about for 20 years.

So many different items .. office supplies are slim pickings and I've noticed shelves are very lacking in the toy section for Christmas (as well as decorations for the Holidays.)Some items are online but at an up charge. Different clothing items and even light bulbs. I could go on and on. Really sad we are so dependent on sources outside of the US.

so very sorry. Haven’t seen that in USA yet. I don’t know how anyone could like that.
I "liked" that post as a way of empathizing/identifying with the poster. I'm in the US and seeing the same thing. Certain brands like the ones our pets like are harder to get and have gone up by 40%+. Have a hard time getting them to eat anything else, so just dealing with it.

We feed our dog Canadian dog food. In order to avoid disruptions, we always have an extra bag on hand.

I still would really like to get a PS5.

Electronics & lots of other things are coming straight from overseas instead of passing through the hands of the storefronts, which seem sparse. I go to some stores who interface with online on my behalf, which is odd. Seems like manufacturing is attempting to squeeze out inventory holders.
Whole shift strikes me as very dangerous for us all to be on such a short leash.

My DH owns a small design, manufacture, and repair business. They are having the worst time getting parts so their customers are constantly yelling at them. The lease on DH's car is up in January. For the first time ever, he's considering buying his car at the end instead of leasing something else. There just isn't anything available.

I can find what I need but the price gouging is ABSURD!

Pretty much. I read that one idea is that we shifted from consumers of services to goods when the recession hit. For example, we used to go the gym and pay a membership. Now, we buy exercise equipment. This put stress on the supply chain and continues. It doesn't help that we still shutdowns happening.

Did you see what happened with Disney in China? One case shutdown the park. I can't imagine what's happening in production and shipping over there.

Tennis balls and gas golf carts.

Resin for custom pre-cast showers.

The paste used to coat drywall seams.

Windows.

Lots of remodels and new build construction is really backed up due to lack of materials.

Furniture, which led people to up-cycle thrift store finds, which now means the spray paint aisle is bare.

Some brands of wall paint.

Thus far we are good on food and paper goods.

My wife has been on a binge of cooking recipes with cream cheese the past few weeks. Cream cheese brownies. Creamed spinach and creamed cheese mashed potatoes, no shortage here.

I've missed a few things but nothing as important as eyeglasses.

When my little nieces were visiting I wanted some Uncrustables for them and there were none to be had at any grocery store or Walmart near me. My husband is doing keto and he likes sugar-free Jello with sugar-free whipped cream. The sugar-free whipped cream was hard to find for a while, although it seems to be everywhere now.

I've gone twice into my favorite running shoe store to pick up a new pair of Oofos. The stock a few months ago was wiped out. I went today and they had some but not much of a selection. Mine are so worn on the bottom that there is no tread left and I slip all over the place.

We're thinking about redoing the flooring in our house, but I would not want to rip up the old flooring unless we had all the necessary new materials in-hand.

My dh couldn’t find the specialized 12v battery for his Prius. He looked everywhere. He ended up getting a standard 12v instead. He’s lucky he had a portable battery jumper to start his car.
