My NEW Fold and Go Wheelchair is the best investment that I have ever made. Great at Disney and eve

@mamabunny, would the the top round tube be safe enough to attach the FrameSaver Clamp from BodyPoint? View attachment 623621
Which round tubing do you mean on mamabunny’s pictures?
My daughter has the BodyPoint frame saver clamps on her wheelchair seatbelt. They work very well and are safe/secure.
The issue I can see is that they might interfere with being able to fold the chair, depending on where they are exactly.

@SueM in MN, the top ones and where the circles are.View attachment 623625
That’s where I was thinking you meant. I made a picture too - LOL

As long as the part is welded on, it should be strong enough. I guess another question would be the diameter of the frame piece.

I‘ve been searching for how to attach a Fold and Go seatbelt to the wheelchair … it seems like they don’t actually attach it; it’s just around the back frame parts and the driver’s waist. That seems really inconvenient - every time its unfastened, it‘s loose and could fall.

The issue I can possibly see is that the frame saver clamp is meant to be attached to a side piece of frame with the belt coming flat up the side of the seat from the clamp.

Attaching it at that back frame part, the belt would have to come flat & straight up along the back of the seat, then turn to go around. That would make a bump.

There might be a way to make it work - there is a part of the frame saver the picture doesn’t show that might allow it to work. I’ll see if I can get a picture of my daughter’s - it might only be visible with her tire taken off.

@Groot - I *think* it should work...? If I were in your shoes, I might call F&G and talk to the Service Department. The folks there are nice (and they all use the F&G chair or a wheelchair of some kind) so they have a familiarity with not only the F&G chair itself, but all kinds of accessories - and all kinds of needs. I think that in the case of the frame saver, if Groot ran it up under the back of the seat and through the frame, it would be fine, but I would definitely put it at the outside ends of that round tube (where you indicated 🙂 )

With the way that the F&G folds, I can see why they don't put a more permanent attachment for the included seat belt; those 2 battery boxes/tubes are kind of an "outer frame", and then there is an entire "inner frame" assembly that has several hinge points, and moves both up & out (when unfolding) and down & in (when folding). It makes mounting a lot of things permanently (like cupholders, etc.) more difficult.

Here are a few other pictures that may help.
My daughter’s old wheelchair had the Bodypoint Frame Clamp.
Her current wheelchair has the Band Clamp. Both of those work under upholstery, which is why we used them. They would also work on other round tube, the same as the Frame saver one.

The other piece I mentioned is ordered with the seat belt and is called a ‘flat mount’.

The flat mount is screwed to the clamp with the screw that holds the clamp together (the band clamp is a little different). The one advantage of the flat mount is it can be turned, so you can control the direction of the seatbelt a little more - it doesn’t have to go straight up.
I‘d still suggest contacting Fold and Go and also Bodypoint, but it might work like this picture.Green is the clamp, blue is the flat mount and pink is the seatbelt.

This picture is just the clamp and flat mount on my daughter’s chair. Sorry for the angle - the blue tubing is parallel to the ground in real life.

Hm… but I’m still not 100% sure. I wish that there was a mobility convention coming to the Philly area so that I could go to BodyPoint’s booth and ask them these questions. (I do like their seatbelts, in my opinion, they‘re the Cadillacs of the wheelchair seatbelt world.)

I am currently rocking the BodyPoint dome for my joystick; my hand simply cannot grasp a joystick properly for any length of time now. So far, it's working well!

I am lucky that I currently don't need/feel the need for a seatbelt, but I understand making sure that the one you want will work.

Can anyone that has the bigger armrests on the Magshock tell me the circumference of it?

Just got my joystick for the Magshock (when I get it) and I LOVE IT! It’s sooooo comfortable in my hand and fits like a glove. Definitely going to be upgrading to this joystick model when I get my Quantum (or Permie if I buy from “YouTube Scooter Guy”).

That’s the same one my daughter has on her power chair.
One of the great things about it is that she can use it in different ways depending on her muscle tone. If her hand is nice and loose, she can rest her hand in it and like you said, it fits like a glove.
If her hand is tight, she can drive with her fisted hand by putting pressure toward the wings.

Hey, guys, can one of you who has a Mag show me how you installed a seat belt to it?

I have the standard or default armrests that come on the current model MagShock. (are you talking about the black armrest that is on top of the armrest frame, or the entire assembly?)

I never installed my seat belt - maybe someone else here has?

@Groot, here’s a thought that might simplify your seatbelt considerations…
is anyone able to take a picture of the seat frame with the bottom and back cushions removed? I’m thinking the sides of either the bottom of the seat or side frames of the backrest would make the most sense for attaching a seatbelt and it just hasn’t been thought of because they don’t show as accessible points in the pictures.

I like that. BodyPoint wasn’t at the Expo in Houston. I may have to check out their website.

I haven’t installed the seatbelt, but I thought it just looped around the entire wheelchair. Am I wrong on that?

That‘s the joystick my daughter has on her Permobil power wheelchair. It’s really, really nice.

I haven’t seen the type of wheelchair this thread is about, but the pictures look like the seatbelt isn’t really installed, it’s just looped around the entire wheelchair like you thought
