Digital Membership Cards?

This is interesting because if guests also have to show ID then what would it matter if someone tried sharing the screenshot? The name on the ID wouldn’t match the name on the screenshot and the discount wouldn’t be given. It would be easier to have the screenshot queued up when getting to the register to speed things up, as well as not having to access Wallet every time (and offering the ability to delete it from the Wallet for those that don’t want to keep it there).

It also sounded like if they see someone pulling up from their own phone, the likelihood of it. It being someone’s actual phone would be limited?

I just left the Contemporary and the CM basically told me the same thing. He took the screenshot of my affliations and license but confirmed it’s the DVC Y tha will get discounts and if they see the ND, it won’t be given, especially come February when things should be correct.

So, it definitely seems like More consistent application should be coming!!

We are going in early Feb and are grandfathered blue card holders.....Today annual was removed from id, but it still shows ND.
Hope this is fixed by the time we go.

Both my husband and myself only show dvc y and annual now. At the beginning it also showed castaway and dvic. ive not done anything, this is happening on its own.

I’m personally totally fine with that. We need to keep in mind that we’re still talking about a digital replacement for the physical DVC membership card (regardless of which design you pick in MDE for your wallet). The old card didn’t identify membership in any other programs or reference any other ancillary discounts, so I’m good with the digital version sticking solely with DVC too. If DCL, or any other division wants to create a digital membership or discount card, have at it.

Having seen multiple reports, including mine, that DVIC has been removed from our Affiliations, I wonder if they might just drop it. If you have a Disney Visa you have to have a physical card, so it's not necessary to put it in the pass. And you can put your Disney Visa in your phone wallet if you want to do that as well.

Ya, my DVIC was dropped as well. Does seem silly to have it listed since you need to pay with your physical card for discounts with the Disney Visa anyway....

I wonder if the original coding just pulled all the affiliations that were listed and now they updated it to only pull DVC and Annual.

On a side note, I did renew my AP yesterday. She used my membership number from my digital screen shot temporary card and said that is what she needed. Once she entered that, she said I was eligible to renew to a Sorocers pass, It did sound like something came up that allowed it which supports some of the denials of white card that we read.

The interesting part was that I showed my Magic Mobile first but she saw the blue card and wanted that number, not the code from MM. So, not sure how that will work if the digital temporary version goes away. Unless, that will only go away for white card owners, but blue card will still have it for the AP?

Still a lot of unanswered questions, but at the GF cafe, for dinner, they asked to see my digital codes, after I pulled up my white card and server said, that was not valid for the discount, but did allow the screenshot of MM and license,

One thing for sure is that they are not scanning the code, just looking for the Y.

Try deleting, reentering your phone in the MM app, the adding to wallet again?

I just looked. Both my hubby’s and my affiliations in wallet updated correctly without us doing anything. His didn’t show any affliction a couple days ago and now shows DVC Y and CAST. On mine, DVC Y, CAST and ANNUAL were always there but geographic was dropped, not sure if castaway cay and visa were there before since my iPhone couldn’t display everything (I don’t have an Apple watch).

Just deleted and updated my pass (after I got the email from DVC alerting us to the new things) and it still says ND even though I am grandfathered contract. Don't they realize when they send that email we are going to look? Or are most clueless and they hope to have it fixed when I actually need it?

The cast member on the phone told me that the grandfathered issue should be corrected soon but had no other info. In fact, the cast member had the same problem and said that deleting and reinstalling the wallet card doesn't fix it. It is unfortunate that DVC elected to blast out the e-mail prior to the feature working correctly.

Could someone please tell me what DVC Y means in the Wallet DVC card?

Also, DH is a joint owner but DVC isn’t listed on MY (he has no separate account or Smart Phone) MDE. Of course that means on my Digital wallet for him too.

Anyone know what an ID # means that MDE is requesting when I try to add his affiliations to my Profile so the Wallet can access. (I presume that’s what it’s using for info.). It obviously isn’t our (2) membership numbers.

I will try to help since I have run into problems with my dh too. I was on the phone for way too long ¨just to get a blue card¨ that used to be sent to us without a problem! I am old too, in many ways life was easier before computers! And now a MDE has to be set up for him along with Apple Pay.

First, the Y lets a cm know that you are entitled to the discounts, the ND would mean you have a white card.

You can not have his affiliation show on your account unless he has a dvc account. It was a real pain for us since I had made an account many years ago, forgot about it when I got my own laptop and then made a new one, which meant he couldn´t make his own account until they were able to delete that old account. Now I have two accounts to manage since he doesn´t want anything to do with this.

When doing this, I noticed my Sorcerer pass shows that it expires one year from when I purchased it. Can I assume that will change to one year from my activation date once I activate it?

Thanks for this. I have a trip coming at the end of the month and I think the only DVC member thing I absolutely need is to activate the AP. I can rest easy knowing they rely on membership number instead of smartphone foolishness.

Okay. So now I checked my husband's phone and his doesn't say DVC at all. To be fair, he never does DVC stuff. I always book, so I don't think he ever set up DVC. We had DVC for over 10 years so I don't remember what the process was to set that up. Are there instructions anywhere?
