Even the Wish isn’t truly full. All staterooms might be booked but many are booked with only 2 in a cabin. Just look at how few kids were on the maiden.
It went from being sold out all year to every sailing being available. Have they offered any GT rates yet? I haven't checked.

Testing with the antigen at home test is not reliable for this variant. Many people are testing negative the first time even when symptomatic, and then test positive a day or two later. I learned this first hand....4 of us tested negative at least once with symptoms, then a day or 2 later, tested positive. That is why testing is not keeping it off the ship.
Agreed! 3 negative antigen tests (2 on 1 day, 1 the next) with symptoms but a positive PCR for me the same day as the 3rd negative home test. I show up positive on the antigen tests now but it wasn't until Friday and I was first sick on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that the COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships is no longer in effect.

The program has been in effect for ships sailing in the United States since October of 2020.

If you have a Disney cruise coming up, you must keep up-to-date on DCL’s Know Before You Go page to see if any changes are put into place. As of the time of this posting, DCL has not announced any changes to its current procedures.

Hoping DCL ends pre cruise monitored testing. It’s going to cost us an additional $400 just for pre-testing with Inspire Diagnostics!

More than the cost, I'm not sure what good the testing does at this point. It's rampant and everywhere and I don't think testing is doing anything from preventing people from catching it.

I don’t know where it is rampant but I think the monitored paid testing 2 days prior to port arrival is unnecessary. if they want to do a 15 minute test at the, port prior to boarding I have no problem but would be happy if this policy is cancelled. I’m sailing end of September and all that month will be nothing but stress for me,
Plus we will be in WDW the 2 days prior which is a real hassle

Testing 2 days before boarding is absolutely useless.

Yup! I was exposed on 16-17 of June and got sick on June 19 but if you had tested me on the 16th and I got on a ship on the 18th. Well….
I was exposed on a Thursday and had symptoms by Sunday, along with a positive test. We were on a 3 night vacation that started Saturday. I would have tested negative Thursday and Friday and probably Saturday too, given how faint the like was on Sunday.

Just more FYI, Mexico does not require testing/vaccine, Jamaica does not require testing/vaccine, VI does not require testing/vaccine, Turks and Caicos requires vaccine for 18+, Grand cayman requires vaccine 12+. On my quick research, I can’t find anyplace that requires under 12’s to be vaccinated for entry.
DCL require 5 and up to be fully vaccinated so we can't sail to any of these places with DCL as we can't even board at the moment.

It took me all this time, 8 trips to Florida, and 1 trip to Europe before I finally contracted a COVID variant. Luckily for me it was very mild - surviving the vaccine and boosters was worse. DH still hasn't tested positive - our son neither.

Oh of course, that is correct. My point was, as far as cruise requirements, since it seems that none of their ports require vaccinations for the under 12’s, that the cruise lines wouldn’t really need to keep requiring that age group to be vaccinated if the ports don’t. That was one of the arguments for keeping the vaccine policy in place or expanding it to the under 5’s. I’m not opining on what DCL or any other cruise line should or will do.

Royal Caribbean has never required under 12 to be vaccinated.
