Only 1 refill of bread allowed at Sebastain's now

Where are you seeing that because I couldn't find any
Look at the official description on the wdw website. Does not state all you care to enjoy, unlike the garden grill at epcot. You can ask for 2nds, the worse they can say is no. On a positive note, the food is delicious, the portions are large and the price is good.

A couple pages back I actually was the poster who posted the official wording on the website and said I couldn't find any blogs that stated it was all you care to eat :) hence why I was asking the poster who said all blogs say that, if there are ones that do it would be helpful to know when that information was published

Some people assume family style means AYCTE. Before this thread I thought any Disney restaurant that seved meals family style was AYCTE. The price looks reasonable, by Disney standards.

DFB and Touring plans both state it’s AYCTE in their review when it reopened in 2021. Numerous vlogger videos also. Could they all be wrong? I guess.

They are. I like them but have found they do make mistakes....they are human. Did they even go eat there or just assume? Anyway, I always check with the official source for the correct and updated info.

Disney food blog didn't and Touring plans didn't. Family style yes but not aycte. If you search for a list of aycte for Disney it's not lists.

From 2021 DFB "And then it was time to eat! Sebastian’s Bistro now features a brand new family-style dinner, meaning all of the food will be brought to your table in large portions for the table to share. When we got to the table, we scanned the QR code for the menu!"

Touring plans also says Family Style although they mentioned server would bring more of an item upon request. Wit the topic of the OP the dinner rolls are being brought out with more by request.

Neither blog however states aycte which both do for O'hana for example

I've never seen honey butter in the grocery store. I make it when I want it.
Land o lakes makes one, great value has honey cinnamon one, hyvee sells a honey vanilla bean one, price chopper has honey butter, a local dairy company in my area makes their own, etc. I'd probably buy it and save my butter for other usages personally speaking if I ate it regularly.

I watched several Disney vloggers' review videos when it reopened. They went there and ate and were told by servers that it was AYCTE.

Paging Mr. Morrow went there right after it was reopened, asked the server if it was AYCTE, it was confirmed it was except for the shrimp add on he got. He even got more steak, on video, because it was AYCTE. Nobody is saying it's AYCTE right at this moment, people are saying it was reopened AYCTE family style and remained that way until who knows when, this thread is the first report I've seen of it changing.

Yep, Super Enthused was there 5/22 and explained they would refill the meats “up to 2 times”. She is clearly getting that info from a server.

Disney is free to make these changes (obviously) - but should more transparent and not play some low effort semantics game.

I think it can feel a little confusing when a person/party gets pixie dust, for ANYTHING in Disney, not just restaurants. They are so quick to advertise it on social media, that everyone else expects it as the norm. Sometimes, your little extra is a dusting of pixie dust. Reading this I have NO idea if Sebastian's is or isn't all you can eat right this minute. What was true last month isn't necessary true today. I've never eaten there.

However, Land O Lakes honey butter and cinnamon butter.... chef's kiss. We won't buy it. Cuz we eat it. 🤣

I can't imagine that restaurants inventory rolls. That seems like an extraordinary waste of time. I worked fast food and we inventoried things in bulk quantities, not individual portions. At the end of the night, things like rolls get thrown away. At least, they SHOULD.
I worked in fast food a lifetime ago and even back then, everything was inventoried. Waste was placed in appropriate bins and counted at the end of shifts. Broad storewide inventories were taken 1-2 times per week before placing new supply orders. Starting inventory minus sales minus waste should be about equal to stock on hand. Things like buns and hamburger patties are among the easiest to count. No, it didn't account for every item, but it was enough data to theoretically spot trends suggesting excessive waste or (more likely + troublesome) employee theft.

As for the topic, this does seem unnecessarily stingy on the restaurant's part. But it also makes me wonder how many rolls some parties were ordering such that this was even identified as a problem / area where real dollars could be saved. You usually don't make a change like this if only 2-3% of your diners are making unreasonable requests. But if it's 20-30%...

I managed a McDonald’s back in the early 90’s and can remember counting literally everything. Even all the chicken nugget sauces. We always counted all waste - burger pattys that were dropped. Every single thing. Ugh.
As to the roll refills I feel like a lot of places are getting stingier but dang - give the kid another roll that they dropped. Ask your boss, whatever. Lots of kids only eat the rolls anyway. Some employees especially new ones are afraid to break the rules or make mistakes. Maybe it was someone too new to look outside the box. Idk. Crazy. Also crazy how long this thread is lol

Management definitely makes dumb decisions, but in my experience it's usually ignorance and not malice. I mentioned earlier that I think everyone in higher management would agree that the waiter should be able to just give the kid an extra roll, nobody is that cheap. But the employees were told the policy and followed it to the letter. It's a miscommunication somewhere between restaurant management and the waitstaff.

I have to agree with this. I think the employee just assumed they should check with the manager as they were following the rule to the letter.

If the employee did go ask, I'm sure the manager would have said of course replace the dropped roll. Then employee would know this was allowable here on out.
