Anyone following any covid protocols on cruises?

People are most likely not to self report. It kind of reminds me of my recent trip to Magic Kingdom where I saw a lady standing in line with a bottle of Pedialyte

very true. There was a lot of prolonged coughing on our last cruise in April. a Few of our veranda neighbors sounded horrible. It was a good reminder to keep our distance. Though it didn’t help me because my symptoms started 6 days after the cruise. Not positive it was from the cruise, because we spent time at a dvc resort (boardwalk) after we got off the ship. I do know for certain I got it on a Disney vacation. 🤷‍♀️

There is still other crud out there, too. My daughter caught some kind of something while on the Dream or at WDW after. We got home Thursday and on Sunday she started having a sore throat and a cough. I test her with a rapid. Negative. I tested her again yesterday because she was a little worse. Negative. Today she woke up feeling a lot worse so I took her for a rapid PCR. (There's one about 30 minutes from my house, but it was worth it to know quicker than 2 days from now.) Negative. At this point I'm assuming she's got some other yuck. If she's not better in a day or so, I'll take her in for a strep test because she says her throat is just raw. She's banished to her room and I've got a pack of Lysol wipes and I'm not afraid to use them!

Sorry she’s feeling crappy. But laughing at your last sentence

my sore throat started on a Sunday. I tested on Tuesday, negative. I waited 48 hours more and tested on Thursday and was positive. So I tested positive on day 5 of having the raw throat, cough and fatigue. I called my doctor and reported it to her (And started the meds). So you might want to test her again. I was shocked to get positive on my 5th day of symptoms. Crazy.

Did you test negative with a PCR or antigen? Because she's now had two negative antigens and one negative PCR with three days of symptoms. I would be shocked if this were Covid at this point. My mom has the same thing (though the two haven't been in contact) and her doctor said that this sore throat w/ cough thing has been going around. She's also tested negative multiple times. There's definitely still other crud going around out there.

i used 3 antigen tests, first one on day 3 of symptoms-negative, I didn’t test the first day because I thought it was allergies. On day 5 of symptoms I tested antigen after reading to wait a day or 2 if symptoms continue. So tested morning of day 5 and there was no wait. I closed the package and the line went pink instantly and I was shocked and an hour later I made my husband test and I retested again. Again for me it went pink within a minute. Btw, my husband was negative and never got it. This was my first time.

It probably would have been positive on a PCR. It's way way more sensitive.

Well we are heading over next week for the Magic sailing to the Med. Keeping our fingers crossed about everything.
We are on the Med cruise this week. It has been the best vacation of my life. We spent a week in Rome first. No masks for us on flights or in Rome, which was packed. I'm not sure what we were thinking. But we were cleared to sail and the cruise has felt 99% like pre covid once on. Have fun!

This was us on the Wonder last week. DS tested 3 days in a row and I tested once as well. Just a nasty old cold.
We had sinus infections last month. I took six covid tests over a week-long period, all negative. My husband currently has a cough and sore throat, also negative. :(

We are scheduled for Wish in late September. Planning on KN95 masks outside eating and outside air areas due to underlying conditions and training for half marathon. I have 2 small personal hepa air purifiers was planning on bringing (like 6 inches tall)- will these be allowed? They are rechargeable via USB

So do you plain on not eating in the main dining rooms?

We do- just plan on taking these with us, they are very very small but have a 5 foot radius. We understand everyone has a different comfort level with risk related to covid & masks and that is ok with us.
I was just curious because with your post seemed like you would I plan on bringing masks I. February with myself having Lupus. I will mask up when need even in dining room when not actively eating

Have you cruised since covid and eaten in main dining room? Did you feel comfortable? We plan on wearing KN95s anywhere indoors like we do in the parks- so far that has worked well for us. We will take them off to eat inside but plan on having the hepa tiny purifier next to us.

No I haven’t. We pushed our cruises back to February 2023 because my mom wasn’t comfortable with us going tbh. Though Dad and I are. Mom never liked cruises that’s why she doesn’t go

I was shocked to discover that there are other pathogens in the world. I woke up to a stuffy nose and a slight sore throat 6 days ago. After shoving swabs up my nose for 6 days straight, and after 3 days of the stuffy nose going away and a day later the sore throat, all tests were negative. This morning will make day 7 and I'll shove another swab up my nose. Wouldn't you know it, it must have been the common cold. I thought that went away a few years ago. :goodvibes

(Just using a little humor on a very serious topic. No way am I downplaying things. But there is truth in it.)
