Disney Vacation Club Holidays in Hollywood

Deluxe Extended Evening Hours are usually only EP and MK on Mon and Wed night.

These 2 ‘Holiday in Hollywood’ dates also happen to be the only 2 dates that offer EEH at HS.

As others point out, with an AP, the entrance to HS has no value to me. I’d have to eat a boatload of pizza and drink myself into a stupor to justify the cost!

Already bought my ticket for the Xmas party so I am definitely willing to pay extra for something special… but geez who thought this event was a good idea??????

I love that it’s a blue card only event lol

We will be in Disney on the 15th, sparse details, expensive pricing and Pizza Rozzo makes it a no go for us…already seeing Neil Patrick Harris that night for Candlelight Processional…better bang for our buck!

MVMCP rickets are at up to $199 the week into Christmas.

Many brought up APs. Yeah, the first date isn't blacked out for sorcerer pass but the second date is blacked out for what's probably the most common DVC AP. That said, most traveling that week would have upgraded to incredipass to not be blocked out.

We're on a mostly resort stay and might consider this because it's about the same cost for our family as adding on a single day ticket. I'd be more persuaded if it included a DVC guaranteed seat section for Fantasmic on the event nights and/or some lightning lanes.

I think the main target audience may be locals blacked out during the week.

ETA: I think the most "impressive" thing about this is that they're charging a lot of money and providing a lot less than a Moonlight Magic event. I'm curious if this is a test run to DVD ever charging for a traditional Moonlighy Magic event, as in "if X people paid for a nonexclusive event then can we charge for moonlight magic?"

I think it would be better to say park admission not included and drop the fee to under $100, most if not all DVC have some sort of ticket anyway.

Don’t even tell me…

It includes park admission after 4pm AND park reservation. So is this an upcharge that some might consider paying if HS has no park reservations left and they want to go on that date to enjoy EEH?

Trying to figure out the angle here. There’s such a tiny amount of info. Some food in a questionable food location with beer and wine, and some hours in the park. Most DVC visitors will already have multiday tickets or APs.

Wouldn't it be awkward if someone questioned how they can not have any park reservations available but have extra spaces for an upcharge party?

Bingo. So while substantially raising prices across the board, they also keep taking away bits of what it included to sell again separately. Sure they have the right to do as they please, and it was tolerable in the beginning stages, but they just keep adding more and more of these things that chip away at other guests’ experiences.

Actually when it comes to annual passes, they don't have the right to do stuff like this while also blocking out ap!

Got the email.....not going to be there. We leave the 13th......but I would not go for that price. Yes, HBD would be a different thing

Given that the craziest upcharges sell out in minutes, I think they're right to test how far FOMO will make people pay whatever they ask. Next esclusive blue card event: drive in view of the fireworks from the TTC car park for $199.

But if they don’t have hoppers or APs and don’t want DHS to be their reserved park that day, this gets them in.

Yes it does. But what is so special about these dates that they’d pay $160+tax each to be let in? Those are the nights that have rare HS EEH… which is supposed to be perk for deluxe. And Blue Card is supposed to be a perk for those paying extra for direct DVC.

So… WDW’s selling the opportunity to access perks? And why might people have a hard time getting into HS? Park Reservations system. They don’t find out HS is having EEH until it’s too late and no reservations are left, so then this looks more appealing. I dunno, this just seems very manipulative and double dipping into people’s pockets. They are selling the ability to get into a ‘sold out’ park. Wrong on too many levels. This is exactly the kind of crap everybody hoped Chapek would take with him on the way out.

Since these people can’t get in until 4 pm, they may be viewing it as park hoppers, which you wouldn’t need a reservation for?

But it would only include one night of hopping? And the joy that is Pizzerizzo.

Yes but I meant for them allowing people to book without needing a park reservation at an already sold out park…assuming HS is sold out that day.

I think it’s an expensive event but for someone who didn’t already plan park that day, it could be a consideration.

Why not? Is there a specific clause in your AP “contract”? Is it the right thing to do from a public opinion lens? No. But they have every right to do it if they so choose.

What I don’t appreciate about this is all the guests who booked deluxe stays, bought their multiday tickets and made their park reservations only to find later that HS is holding 2 rare EEH’s at HS which they’re seemingly entitled to except for the fact that park reservations are artificially gone. Oh but there’s an answer for that. Another $160 each to get in.

It’s become obvious the way park reservations are being used as a manipulation tool to force guests into parks other than what they’d prefer. In this case how can park reservations be gone IF they are still selling hard tickets for $160 to get in? This stinks. Yeah nobody has to buy it. Too bad so sad for those who can’t keep up with all the convoluted changes so they either don’t get to use their deluxe perk Or can shell out another $700 for their family of 4. And this family was from Denver. I thought they mattered.
