I'm annoyed at IHG. I was one of the ones who got the diamond elite status last year and just needed 10 nights to remain diamond for 2023. I had 9 already and then we spent a night at a Kimpton on New Year's eve specifically for that purpose. But apparently it credited in 2023, NOT 2022 even though that is the night we spent there. I know I shouldn't be upset because normally you have to stay like a billion nights to achieve diamond, but we would NOT have spent the money, etc. to stay on NYE had I known that! I am bumped down to Platinum which isn't bad, but Diamond got free breakfast which was at least $60 worth at Kimpton.

All that to say, we need 2 nights pre-cruise and 1 night post-cruise in Seattle in May. Typically I would stay with IHG but now I am open if anyone has a good suggestions, neither of us has been to Seattle before.

Sorry this happened, but it is pretty standard for hotel stays to credit based upon checkout date. Maybe it is worth a call or email to beg for a goodwill adjustment due to the misunderstanding on which year the stay would count towards? I don't have experience with IHG so don't know how likely you will succeed but potentially worth a try.

I haven’t been following all the Ink news since Ive been hitting Chase hard lately. I also need to apply for a CSR this month so no ink for me.
Dh has agreed to be my P2 for a card so I’m in! I am trying to use a referral link from one of my inks but all 3 say no offers. Are referrals dead? I don’t want to miss the high bonus so should I just apply without the referral link for DH?

All this talk over the weekend about the INKs and I have major FOMO. I was trying to wait until DH's new Ink came in the mail to refer me, but decided to use the one in his account right now and then wait to close. I am not seeing any links on my account or his. I can't get it to generate through the refer a friend website either. Anyone else have any luck?

Can you see the last 4 numbers of his new card in his account ? You could generate the link with that….if it will work…I just tried and ran into the same issue not being able to get a new link…old link worked fine

I'm itching to get my card. I now have $3000 lined up for it's arrival. I'll have no probs getting to 6K in 3 months.

If only DD would do a card. We could apply close to 3/24 and mine will be done in early April, leaving 2 and a half months to work on hers.

If you are super flexible then maybe you get lucky with AA. Personally, I wouldn’t risk it. If you don’t have a bunch of Thank You Points that you can transfer sitting in a Qatar account then transfer MRs, URs or C1 points to BA and then transfer BA Avios to Qatar and have them ready to go at 360 days out.

You could also use AA miles to get to the Maldives on Cathay Pacific or Etihad.

DW is a teacher so we really only have a specific week in February to go. It looks like AA miles don't transfer to Avios so the AA Cards wouldn't help, it sounds like I'd be better off focusing on getting as many URs as possible?

With the $15K spend in 3 months I don't think I would open anything new until I hit the spend. How soon after I downgrade my CSP can I re-apply?

I think IHG credited the night correctly. The stay was completed in 2023 so that is the year you got credited in. The T&C of IHG is somewhat vague, but it does specify under stay adjustments that if a customer completes a stay in a calendar year, any adjustments would backdate.

I'm sure they did but I'm still annoyed lol, mostly at myself because I should have looked. I just ASSumed spending the night on 12/31 would count for that year. Oh well....

I'm thinking to have DH download a referral link for me in case it hangs out a bit longer. I just cannot do another spend right now but I think I could starting in mid April.

We're in the same boat. We just today got in DH's new CIU, so now we need to hit the $6K spend on that. I could get another CIC in my name now, but I can't hit $12K spend in 3 mos. If I could use a referral link like mid-April though, I may be able to hit it. UGHHHH I hope the referral links hang around a little longer this time, or like a month longer, LOL!

Dh was instantly approved for a CSR. We’re gonna schedule our global entry interviews soon. Hopefully we can get all 3 of us around the same time. We expedited ds’s passport so we could do the interviews sooner.

We’ve got enough AA points for JAL to Japan. Now we just have to wait. I think June is when we can book flights for next May

I hate that I just got a CIU for DW and I'm going to attempt another for me. Then I'm going to go for an AMEX Plat business. I should be able to easily make each MSR because private school tuition sucks.

I will 2nd this, and send out a PSA to always save your support links. I missed out on support points a couple of years ago because I couldn’t generate a link. From that moment forward I have saved every email Chase sends me with my links. Just in case.

Hyatt is the same way in that they go by the checkout date.

In Seattle, we've stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Had a high floor with a nice view. It's a Category 4 and 12/15/18k points depending on the date. Have also stayed at the Thompson Seattle, which is super close to Pike Place. Only a street view there (as Globalist). That one is a Category 5 and 17/20/23k points. If you have plat hotel credits to use, it's part of Hotel Collection (2 night minimum). There are some other hotels in Seattle that are part of FHR and Hotel Collection that can be reasonably priced.

The Grand Hyatt and the Olive are supposed to be nice too. But they're Category 5 and in the same area as the Hyatt Regency, so I didn't think it was worth paying more.

personally stayed at olive 8 and the Thompson i prefer olive 8 (the rate was about the same) this time I'm going to the Hyatt regency on the water to decompress before my japan trip.

I don't have my conditional approval yet either. Just filled out the app and paid today. Once I have the conditional I'll book whatever I can find and hope to find something sooner, and closer.

Oh my gosh this brings back memories of trying to get pictures of my stubborn kids. For a while, I resorted to using mini-m&m's. I'm sure the photographers thought I was crazy but it did (mostly) work.

The old support links still work for the 90k SUB. Public offer is also still 90k.

It never occurred to me to worry about it before, but do you have to be consistent with the “number of years in business” question or does it matter if the answer is not the same as on a prior application a few years ago?
