Are LL for Guardians usually available to purchase throughout the day or do they sell out right away? We are more DL people and are going to be staying off property, so I am not up on how all this works. I was reading that staying off property means you can’t buy LL as early. We are doing other things in Florida, but we’re going to Epcot for one day, so we will only have one shot at it.
As others have said, it totally depends on the day. During Presidents weekend it was selling out before park opening. Check out the link below for Thrill Data, it shows lots of data on GOTG. That website is amazing if you’re a data junky (like me).

Thanks. From the Thrill Data, it looks like LL can be had as long as it bought soon after park opening. Since we are only there for one day, we will probably do that vs boarding group because those haven’t always worked out well for us when doing Rise.

Okay. I’ve got group #53 today but we’re still traveling and won’t make that time, most likely. Can I go anytime after my group is called (when we arrive later than the BG time)? Hoping that’s the rule.
Were you indeed late for your BG, and, if so, did you have any issues?

We're going down the 2nd week of May. Our flight is scheduled to get into MCO at 10:25. We'll be in the airport at 7:00 (8:00 departure), so I figured we'd try for the VQ then (assuming there's still a VQ, of course), but I'm worried if we get an early group that we wouldn't make it in time.

I actually came to this thread to see if one can drop a BG and still be eligible to try to get another one (either if they're still available or at 1:00). I'd rather have a mid-afternoon BG, and not an evening one, but I thought we might need to drop ours if we got too good of one (I figure we'd probably get a great one the day we're arriving, then crappy ones the rest of the trip).

Unless they change something you can be late for your BG. We had a very early BG (like called at maybe 10:30)but we didn’t ride until 7:30 at night.

We will be arriving at the MCO airport at 11:15 Thursday. We have Epcot reserved for that day. If I attempt to get in the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy at 7:00 a.m., will I get to make a reservation for the afternoon to make sure we are in the park, or am I just randomly assigned a time? I hope this makes sense. In other words, I would want to make the reservation for after 2 or maybe even 3 to make sure we are in Epcot by then. Is it possible to do that? Thank you in advance!

Randomly assigned. I read some people say they were able to talk to CM and still get in after their time but I've never tried and I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

When you join the virtual queue, you are assigned a boarding group. You have no control over what that number is. They will let you on the ride anytime after your boarding group has been called. Last month (February), we arrived 5+ hours after our group was called and rode with no issue.

You can enter after your time until the park closes. I know someone who has done this 100+ times with no issues.

What I remember reading is that for the boarding group time, you must enter within your window when it is called, maybe with a 15 minute grace period at the end. But if you are later than that, you can't ride.

However, for the ILL reservation, you are generally allowed to enter anytime after your time window starts, until park close. I.e., they do not enforce the end of the window, for the ILLs.

Not sure if this is still true, but I remember reading this a while back.

We've never had an issue arriving after our Guardians boarding window has ended. In Feb, we arrived 5+ hours after and rode with no issues.

No, you got the order wrong. It’s VQs that get until park closing, and ILLs only get a 15 minute grace period.

Confirming this is correct one. The will enforce end times for the paid $ILL (which you get to choose your own time for). They do not enforce the end times (but do enforce start times) for the VQ (I assume as they know people have no control over when they are assigned).

It will be interesting to see if the same lenient “show up anytime after your VQ time” applies to Tron, which apparently is much more enjoyable at night.

As long as they do not allow you to pick a time and you have no control over when you get assigned in a 12-hour window, I fully expect they will continue this unless it becomes an actual problem (as opposed to a hypothetical one). I do not think people intentionally showing up much later is going to be as much of an issue as people are worrying about. Sure - some will - but I doubt we'll see any more backlog that you see at other headliner rides at closing.

Post 1 explains the VQ process in greater detail.

As others have shared, there is no need to wait to be assigned a later BG. Once your group is called you will be able to ride anytime from the time you're called until park close, with a VQ.

Here now and have had gotten a Boarding Group each day. We haven’t been on time for any of them but have had no issues getting on after our group has been called. Just be aware, the line gets really long later in the day for various reasons. One night this week the ride was ‘delayed’ and that really slowed things down.

When did they start to enforce $LL return times?
i used one on a different ride today over an hour after the window

When I was there, they finished the regular BGs around 8:15 and refused to start calling the evening hours BG until right at 9 PM, so those CM reports were consistent with my experience (and it may entirely rely on the particular CMs there, the ones manning GOTG that night were not particularly friendly). Even if they do sometimes call them early they'd still be good until 11 PM if OP doesn't get to the park until after 9 though.
We haven’t done the 6pm from since last July but our group was called before Harmonious so before park close then for sure

End times are not being enforced at this time for purchased ILL$ or VQ. (It can change at any point but so far has never been enforced.)

Regular LL booked via G+, end times are being enforced although a 15 min grace period is added to end of return time.

and there’s no regular LL for guardians so that wouldn’t apply here
just clarification since PP said it was enforced. I thought odd since I knew it wasn’t today
