I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Oh that's good to know. We are looking at a Grand Canyon trip next year and will likely fly in/out of PHX. DH and I both have Plat cards but would have to pay for the kids.
The Centurion Lounge at PHX wasn’t worth going in when it was free. We’ve been twice, and both times it was uncomfortably crowded, and horrible food. The 2nd time we actually left and went next door to the Escape Lounge, which was only marginally better. We were able to get a bite to eat, but still found it crowded and not particularly pleasant. I guess I might try the Escape Lounge if I had extra time, and was needing a little snack. Otherwise I would rather find a non-crowded gate area to sit in. It’s that bad.

Has anyone done an in branch application at a chase branch? What is the process? Do you just walk up to a teller? I have several chase cards, Will they have all my personal information? It doesn’t thrill me to have to give my social/other personal info in a crowded bank lobby.
I really wish they would match in branch offers online. 🙄

What has been the experience with Capital One Venture X travel credit redemption? I bought my hotel on the 8th but still have not been credited on my account

I haven't used it this year yet, but back in January of 2022, I purchased a Delta plane ticket on 1/11/22 via their portal and got the $300 credit on 1/14/22.
I used mine on my card in early 2022 also, and I looked, credited in 3 days.
I booked a car rental on DH's card, and it hadn't credited in weeks, so I cancelled it. I now booked a hotel for my dd a couple of days ago, the email says it may be eligible for the travel credit, so I sure as heck hope it comes through.

Is the amex travel site always a nightmare or is it just having issues right now? Any tips? Currently on hold to try to book over the phone. I'm assuming if I don't book through the site or by phone I won't get my $200 hotel credit. Otherwise I'd just do it with Marriott directly.

ETA: figured out the problem-- inventory wasn't accurate

Have you used PYB before? Just trying to confirm you’re in the right section. I do find that sometimes, depending on the company, gas stations are finicky and whether or not they’re considered as a merchant for the ‘gas’ category.

You should see the amount and a little box next to it to check it to get the reimbursement. It will then have you continue on and will ask you to apply the full amount.
Yes, I've used it a ton for restaurants, annual fee, and now grocery. I thought several of these transactions were in activity, not pending but it looks like they are all still pending (even purchases on 3/16). I'm guessing that's the problem.

I really wish they would match in branch offers online. 🙄
I did this two years ago for my Chase Sapphire Preferred and spoke to a banker in his office vs a teller.

At the time they were waiving the first year annual fee if you applied in-person ... but the banker didn't believe me when I asked lol. Luckily he looked it up and it was indeed the current offer.

You won't be in a crowded bank lobby. First of all, no one goes to banks anymore, and they're usually deserted if/when I have to go in. Second, you'll be in an office with a rep, so no one would overhear anyway.

Great. Thanks!
I can’t tell you the last time I went into a bank😂
That makes my feel better that they bring you into an office. Thanks for answering.

Thanks! I appreciate the response.
I cancelled my CSR last year and hate that I don’t currently have a card that can transfer.
90k is just too good to pass up. Thanks again!

I just found out my kids college team is going overseas this summer and it’s going to cost thousands. It kills me that I am going to pay full price travel plus the middleman fees. Ugh. They want paid by check to their “activities fund.” I was thinking I should try to pay with plastiq. I read their allowed payments chart and it’s not specifically mentioned. Does anyone have thoughts or insights? Other ideas?
I'm probably the least helpful person on here, but my thought is: people were talking about money orders about a month ago. Did they figure out a way to buy money orders with a credit card? If so, I would think that you could pay the activities fund with a money order instead of a personal check. I would think that would at least let you get cash back/frequent flyer miles/new card bonus spend. Whatever you're going for. But, like I said, I'm not very experienced in this area.

I don’t think you can buy a money order with a credit card, although you could in the good old days lol

Talk of the escape lounge in PHX. I can't get into DL until 1230 so I thought I would check it out. As almost always with anything centurion related all I would want is the hard boiled eggs. Glad I have another option but I'd pay before any of this.

It's the one in terminal 3 but am guessing it would be the same in 4. You do have to order with wait staff as well.

I’ve had really bad luck with southwest recently.

Last week I checked in at 24 hours manually on the way to our cruise- got B 28.

Bought early bird for the way home- got B 26. It was free form a credit card so I did t care that much

We have one more year of family boarding. Gonna miss that.
I'm hoping the way that the DOT is watching (and making Family Seating dashboards) to be sure families are allowed to sit with their kids up to age 13 will force Southwest to do something a bit differently for kids. I recall a bit back that SW was trialing some different family boarding programs, so maybe we'll see something else roll out.

I did this back in 2016 when they were first rolling out the CSR. Mine was processed at a cubicle, so not exactly a room. I do think any sensitive information they asked to be written down, or you could just review the application in advance and write it down for ease and accuracy. It was really easy.

We have seen in-branch offers become public and then available via referral, I think. Sometimes not quite as good, like once they waived the AF in branch with an elevated offer, but then the public offer came out and it was just elevated. So you could wait it out, but you just never know.

I did for a checking bonus in 2019, I was brought into an office. I think I was the only non-employee in the building at 2pm on a Monday too.

Wow, that's horrible. Nothing on that "lunch/dinner" menu looks like lunch or dinner to me, if I looked at that I'd be back out in the terminal to find some fast food.

Lines for panera and shake shack are kinda crazy too. I at least think this terminal isn't as bad as 4. I fly AA here from mco Thursday morning and it was nuts. Also annoyed AA doesn't have 20 min bags, took 45 min to get my suitcase.

Sitting across from the sky club now for the last 13 min til I can get in. Read enough on r/delta to know some clubs take the 3 hours very seriously.
And the capacity sign just went out. Ugh. Now I know for sure I can't get in before 12:35.

Anyone have any advice for Moab? We used some Hyatt FNCs to book the hotel there but it looks hard to get to from here. Any advice would be appreciated.
