Something About Nothing............ #14

Had our first thunderstorm last night……lasted all of around 45 minutes and wasn’t very good. Rained while we were in the Club Lounge, then it was over……we really wanted to see a spectacular storm!

Eddie V’s was lovely last night, it never disappoints.

Looks gorgeous this morning, been up for ages pottering around now trying to decide what we’ll do today…….a nice decision!

Happy Friday……..

Good Friday morning everyone

So nice to hear you all had a good dinner at Eddie V’s.

Up early this morning. I’am usually up early anyway, but the steroids I’am on to get the UC calmed down is messing with my sleep. One way to think about it is I get more accomplished.

Sun was out earlier and now cloud cover and rain. No complaints as the grass and plants will enjoy the water. We have not had to turn on the sprinkler system yet as Mother Nature has been providing plenty of water so far.

I was able to finish getting all the food items I needed to get my food prep done for hubby while I’am gone. I enjoy making him his favorite foods.

I have a hair appointment this morning then meeting up for breakfast with my sister K and little Jude.

Little J and I did some Mother‘s Day shopping on Monday for my sister K his grandma and her daughter B little J’s mommy my niece. He enjoyed picking out cards. I have the cards and gifts ready to take to breakfast this morning. B is working today, but she will have nice Mother’s Day gift to open when she gets home.

I have been organizing my office which needed it bad. I have a cute book I bought for little J at KSC. I ‘am going to give it to him this morning. He is learning about the Planetary System and I think he will love it. I have already gave him a few rocket ships and space toys. I will definitely be taking him to KSC when he is a little older.

Shout out to Tink and all our Sans family who are not posting. You are all missed.

Mac hope you are doing well.

Thank you again Janet for sharing the information on the car rental site Autoslash. My SUV rental has gone down almost $100.00 from the original booking last Saturday.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone doing whatever it is that makes you happy.

Good morning my pretties

Charade - enjoy the day!
when we heard others on the bus talk about them going to the turtle park, we decided we would too.
I had wondered about that place, sounds nice. We usually book all day combo with one of guides with his own boat. Made mistake of doing large cattle call one once. Never again, too much pushy shovel.

Then snorkeling in the shallows, reef & open water & lunch. For s snack thr owner dives down to grab a conch & makes a ceviche on the boat. Heavenly. Now that I think of it, pretty sure our 7 years of good luck accrued after smooching the rays needs reactivated. Hmmmm
Had a lovely time in the Studios today, now off to Eddie V’s for dinner…….oysters and steak!
Yummo! I read the other day that Darden corp (red lobster) now owns them & Another, think it was capital grill. ? Hope they don’t change a thing.

Need to hit up ur TR. wondering how kyle’s

enjoyed my pedicure today. Looking forward to getting hair done tomorrow morning. Yes, does feel good to get some foo foo appointments.
Nice! So much going on you deserve some pampering

LOL….A pox indeed to the lounge chair hogs. Interesting that the staff allow folks to claim chairs for hours leaving them vacant.

Looks like you are having a nice cruise.

Did you dance when they were singing YMCA?

Woot! A Keisha’s live report. Pox indeed to chair hogs. Hehe, that YMCA song. Been known to do the arm movements to that song on a Universal boat a few times. You are up early. Looks like a great cruise so far.

Ooh beautiful sunshine outside. Hottest day, with an early Summer like temp of 84.

I’m am so ready to turn off that laptop. List has grown some. Wash and errands to do. Then packing. Busy day. And a busy day for Charade. Have a wonderful time at your graduations.

Yes, never too young to be introduced to everything space related……I’m always amazed at folks that know next to nothing about such a fascinating and important topic.

Nice! So much going on you deserve some pampering

You are surely in the right place!

Friends of ours did a 70’s tribute show and the “Village People” were one of the acts and said the same thing, the Indian Chief had been replaced. I forget by whom, but said it was kinda different.

Love your pictures!!! Glad it’s been so fabulous. I love the sound of the boat guy diving for your lunch, that is impressive.

Well, his goal was to do one run at least, and there hasn’t been any others, so he’s achieved his goal……albeit an easy one lol…..

I didn’t realise Eddie V’s had been taken over by them, interesting. It was lovely but we all said I don’t think we’ll go back for a long time. We’ve been so often maybe time for a change.

I have a note from my mother for being late to the party here…

I got locked out on the boards since noon today.

I was able to read threads but not post but all has been corrected now.

Of course most are in bed now….

No…..they can’t lock you out of the San!!! You’re our centre point here……:)

Glad they sorted the issue for you to be able to post.

At the risk of sounding boring and posting silly little details no one cares about…… I’m doing laundry this morning.

Not quite sure about the rest of the day today, never usually venture to the parks on a Saturday, but who knows, looks a beautiful day.

Had a lovely evening last night, started off with food at Strong Water with our “American kids” well, some of them, they have some new menu items we got to taste and as always they are all gorgeous. And the ladies all enjoyed “Carole’s Punch”

Then Kyle joined us later and we went to Sal’s for pizza for him, it’s changed and wasn’t as good as it used to be……shame. Then played mini golf and had a cocktail from Fat Tuesday’s.

Up early as always………:duck:

Happy Saturday

Luggage wasn’t Tom bad a wait. At least our bags were on the first truck, of two. Fast picking up car, and now enjoying breakfast. Target run then checking in. Woot! Maybe some park fun later.

Room not ready. Did not think it would be. But happy as landed early, traffic on highway wasn’t bad, but going to get breakfast and Target was busy. Rental in the garage, and hanging out in the lobby, as neither of us want to go anywhere but chill. I hope our room is ready sooner than later. And little one forget her pass in her not taken lanyard. New lanyard and replaced AP. Silly one. I have mine in my now very old lanyard. Keep changing the hotel keys every time I go. I leave the old one in my lanyard, until I toss and put the new one in.

Hotel seems busy. But I did online check in and was quick.

Good Saturday morning everyone

Thank you Carole. It’s the steroids that are causing the issue. I think I’am going to try a nap today to catch up on some of the sleep I’am missing at night.

I’am an early riser anyway so on the positive side I‘am up earlier and can achieve a few more things in the morning. Always need to find a silver lining even on a cloudy day.

I did get all the meal prep done for hubby’s meals while I’am gone. He will have plenty of yummy meals to choose from.

Son and daughter in law came over for dinner yesterday evening. We had a nice visit. They are taking us out tomorrow for a steak dinner for Mother’s Day. I look forward to seeing the family.

Little J was over the moon with his space book I gave him yesterday at breakfast. He loved it and immediately started telling us the names of the planets when he reached that page in the book. He loves the pop up rockets ships.

Have you ever found that it is somewhat exhausting getting ready to leave for a trip. I always want to make sure everything is in order before I leave. Hubby is good about keeping the house clean.

Need to get scooting. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

Steroids really can do a number on you. I tend to get stomach distress

Had to laugh re the pre trip hustle & bustle. Same here, it reminds me of the nesting phenom pregnant woman exhibit

I’m wit J, love a well made picture flap book. Have a nice HP one with elaborate hog warts castle & several haunted mansion ones. Although I do sort of handle my breath when kiddos ask to read them.

Do have more kid friendly ones on a bookshelf along with several of the I Spy ones

Have a great weekend all

Safe travels home, Keisha, and we had a 9:30 am flight. We were off that ship fast, returned our rental and made the flight with no issues. Hate SW routes and times lately.

It’s hot! Just got our room notice, so after waiting in that coffee place almost as long as we did for MIB, we are chilling and listening to two guys sing the blues.

At SF’s vacation desk they replaced her AP with a smile and even printed her name so nicely on the new one. And when we entered the park, no ID bedded and finger scan worked. So yay for her and us. Tomorrow we move over to HR and will have our Mother’s Day brunch there. We are both looking forward to it.

Park busy enough:

IMG_1526.jpeg

We got our room, both of us took long hot showers. Felt refreshed, then waited out the little bit of rain, then went into IOA and had a nice meal at Mythos, and ride Spiderman before walking out slowly. Mobile ordered donuts. Enjoyed them as a snack a few minutes ago, as we carried them into our room.

Been a long day, so hope all have a very good night’s sleep.

I did get a lot accomplished yesterday and last night I finally brought down my suitcase and put a few things in it. I will be able to print our boarding passes this morning.

Today planning on a day of being lazy and just enjoying family and good food.

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day everyone.

Happy Mother’s Day to you Robo. Hehe, yep that day before do I have all ready before I leave routine. Exciting when boarding passes printed out. Safe travels tomorrow. Lazy Sunday with family and food sounds perfect.

I’m up that early hour. I think I hear a motor or maybe washing/drying machines as we are the next room to the one staff room. But in a corner room, neat, as I have never had one before. And gloriously sunny and hot today. 89 and a full day of sun says my phone. Yep, wearing suntan lotion and a hat. But a day to switch hotels and relax with a grazing of brunch items as we hopefully get into our room, as most likely not ready when we check in, right before we have our reservation time.

And I’m looking forward to our brunch. Told little one to look at all three menus and see why I picked HR’s Kitchen menu. Yep, one I knew there would be most of the listed items, she would eat versus the other two. Ooh hear a dog barking in the other side of my room. Guess all are up like me, and not little one. I’ll let her sleep. It’s always like that. I rarely make her get up early when we are here. If I am ready early, I sometimes go without her, and then we meet up in the parks somewhere, usually to then eat lunch.

And right now, the only early entry park open is IOA, with only two rides open. Since Hagrid’s, one of the two, is down a lot during the early hours, and the dino coaster usually doesn’t have as long a line most times, even when open regular hours, so not as interested in getting up for that early hour entry. And with our hotel key, we can use the express lines, so we are hoping to just get on Hagrid’s when we see a posted line time at around 45 minutes or even less. Thinking early afternoon on a week day. So I highly doubt we will make any early entries this week. Though maybe I will, mostly to just enjoy strolling around.

Good morning everyone.

View of standard room 4th floor of tower 2:

IMG_1528.jpeg
IMG_1529.jpeg

Yep, the corner room have that red awning, we can see some are over real rooms like ours, and some are over a wall that’s painted to look like a room. Fake, lol.

But yay, two windows. And yay, on same floor as lobby. And I like tower 2. Usually quieter rooms. I have been all over in all the towers though. Last year, I booked a pool room as was cheapest AP rate I saw. This year, standard was cheapest with AP rate. No matter. I don’t mind seeing greenery outside my window, no matter which hotel I pick.

You know, I’m glad others are up too, but why loudly talk and let your kids run back and forth along the hallway in the early hours? Good thing my kid is a good sleeper. And that guy with the huge screen phone FaceTiming his friend holding it up, just in front of us as we rode Spiderman, so all we saw was her in our view on all the ride screens. Sigh. Being courteous to others. Sorry, off my soap box now.

Ooh tea from a bottle. Cold, as iced tea for me this morning.

And so, have a beautiful Sunday and a very happy Mother’s Day to all and every kind of mom, and mum.

Happy Mother's Day to all!
I agree with the pre-vaca scurrying around being compared to nesting. We want to get everything all set. I've done it both ways, and I definitely prefer having everything taken care of. Now I have packing lists in my Google Drive that I just print out, which I've tweaked over the years as I tend to bring less and less.
I'm about 80% packed now, working on going through as much of the perishables in the fridge as possible. Quick wipedown of the bathroom on Monday and wash out the cat box and replace with fresh litter for the Rover person.
We should be checking into the HRH early afternoon on Tuesday then head over to the Beachclub for our traditional relaxing arrival drinks, sweet tea for my daughter and unsweetened ice tea or maybe a hurricane for me. Then later on dinner at Vivo, again a tradition.
My kid is the same way as Lynne's, a night owl for sure and I do the same, head out to the parks by myself, and meet her whenever she manages to wander over. I might try Hagrid's single rider this trip when available to save time. That outdoor switchback area after Hagrid's hut is tough in the full sun. I used to take my sunhat off and put it in the locker, as I assumed you couldn't wear hats on the ride, but I think I'll just wear it and hopefully sit on it, because the bright sun on my thinning hair can't be good for my scalp, and I've already had a skin cancer lesion removed from my forehead. I obviously prefer the bike, but doing the sidecar is ok if the waiting time is less.

I think we expected a little more on the Gateway. The gentleman we know who works there gave us a tour of sorts which was nice, and explained a lot of the reasons why those specific exhibits were chosen. It was nice, but I think I’d miss it out next time. Tom and Kyle enjoyed the simulators though. Our guide jokingly said we know too much already…….lol…..

Yes, he is enjoying some lovely cakes!

I agree. Tim always marvels my need to clean when it really doesn’t need it…..especially before we leave.

Interesting to watch anything plane related for us too.

Yes, they both lacked sauce and the chicken, jalapeño and pineapple toppings were obviously lacking…..especially when I compared it to the same pizza several years back. Won’t be rushing back and that’s a shame as it was always so good. Cost cutting at its most obvious.

It’s almost here Aurora……hope the next couple of days pass smoothly and you get checked in with no issues and get the room you want.

If you see us, give us a holler……..:)

Happy Mothers Day indeed.

We are doing the Islands Brunch today instead of Amatista for a change…..a huge thank you to the lovely person who very kindly arranged that for us! Menu choices at Islands and Amatista suit us best out of all the Brunches offered and both of those the ones that get booked up fastest I was told. Hope to catch up with the F&B manager we know today too, haven’t seen him yet this trip.

So, very slow and lazy morning for us, chatting in the Club Lounge with everyone and enjoying their tea.

Still haven’t decided what we’ll do later…..plenty of time to decide. It looks a gorgeous day ahead.

Hope all mummies have a lovely day :)

And welcome home Janet :)

Quick check into the HR. So maybe will see ya Aurora, though as thought, since so early, room number not known.

Schumi, enjoy your brunch at Islands. All the menus looked great. And I’m sure very popular.

Waiting in lobby, as a little early for our brunch reservation.

Absolutely beautiful. So sunny and hot. Yep, face is pink from not having suntan lotion on when at pool yesterday. Today, suntan lotion on, and a hat. I know better.
