I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Updated rumor over on r/ is that the CSP 80k offer will end on May 25th, so I decided to risk it and apply using a support from P2's account even though I am not 90 days from my last chase (Ink)... Luckily it went through.

I am unreasonably excited to transfer my 100kURs from my Ink over to my CSP so they spend better. :)

Thank you guys for this thread... I would never have considered having not one, but TWO cards with AF, let alone any kind of a business card, if you guys had not explained it all!

I'm kinda in shock -- was able to get 2 tickets (there were plenty) for the U2: Achtung Baby show at the Vegas Sphere for December! I picked a mid-week show (we have total flexibility now that we're retired from out professional jobs), maybe that was it!

So, we have NEVER been to Vegas and now we're going in December! We've got RR points that can get us there, but I have no idea where I'd want to stay. We don't have Hilton status (we've got IHG points and UR and MR) and I'm not sure I'm up for all that status matching y'all talk about! My guess is we'd only stay in Vegas for 2 nights and maybe go somewhere else for a few days.

Anyone have a suggestion for a, say 4 night trip to Vegas with 2 nights elsewhere? In Early December? lol
We got tickets to an October show, which was in the first release of just a handful of shows and they sold out very quickly. But then they kept adding shows. I wish they would have released them all at once so we could pick which date worked best.

All three of the Amex Hilton cards have elevated offers right now, most which include a free night certificate. If you want to explore a new ecosystem, I think the Capital One Venture card might have a decent sub right now as well.

If you are open to biz cards (and now might be a great time, since you'll drop to 4/24 in November!!!), Amex biz cards are very simple to obtain and you're already familiar with their currency.
The Hilton cards, you can only hold one of each product it seems,is that right?

Just sharing another DP that I was approved for the Hilton biz card with 150k HH +FNC (no popup) after previously having that card for one year in 2021 and closing the following year. Just shy of two years since last the same card. Popup on support link but successful with DoC link. Thanks @wanderlust7, I think you had a similar situation.
Wait..... so they let you have it again?

No, you just might not get the bonus for a second one. DH and I each have 2 Aspires. We make full use of the airline credits, resort credits and FN certs to more than offset the AF on each. I’m too lazy or busy (both adjectives are accurate) to MS my way to a second FN cert 😂 I’d rather do that with a more profitable card if I’m going to make the effort.

A big "Thank You" to this board for sharing tips/great offers. Our daughter will start the Disney College Program in Orlando this fall. That means at least one (probably 2) trips for us to visit. This is not stressful, however, because I have a stockpile of discounted Disney gift cards and the SW companion pass. This board really does help average people do fun things! 👏

How long do I need to wait between Chase personal card apps? I opened a SW card on 4/12 before the CSP elevated offer became public. Now I see it is ending soon and I FOMO. I am 2/24.

Has anyone has issues adding a Chase account to Max Rewards? I was able to add DW's account with no issues but when I try to add mine nothing happens after I enter the username and password.

So Amex historically has had No Lifetime Language (NLL) "Welcome offer not available to applicants who have or have had this Card," meaning you can't get the bonus on the same card twice in your lifetime (dps put a lifetime at about 7 years). But within the last few years they've changed the language to "may not" or removed it completely from certain card applications. This Hilton biz card with the 150k HH + FNC,, available through the DoC link, has this language (emphasis mine):

Welcome offer(s) may not be available to applicants who have or have had this Card or previous versions of this Card. American Express may also consider the number of American Express Cards you have opened and closed as well as other factors in making a decision on your offer eligibility. If an offer is not available to you, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application.

I did not receive the pop-up notifying me I was ineligible, so I do expect to receive the bonus.

You can hold each Hilton card and all at the same time. This is my second time holding the biz card in less than 2 years.

I wanted to verify that if we use the UR portal to book a rental car, and put a small amount on a CSR, say $10, and pay the rest with UR points, we should be covered by the CSR rental car coverage, which covers loss of use, and any other items if we were to get in a wreck? Thank you!

PS - were in a wreck last year on vacation in Orlando, we didn't have a CSR at that time, and the card we used didn't offer primary rental coverage, and while it ended up coming out ok, it was a huge damper to our trip and we ended up having to make a claim on DH's insurance even though it wasn't our fault. So, we just want to make extra sure this year that we're covered.

I believe you'd be covered if you paid the whole thing with UR. As long as it was out of the CSR UR account. CSR rental coverage does not cover liability. If you get into an accident and are found liable, that would still go against your personal insurance. At least that is how it has been explained to me.

Here is the specific language regarding paying with points, card or a combination (emphasis mine):
You are covered when Your name is embossed on an eligible card issued in the United States, and You use Your credit card Account and/ or rewards programs associated with Your Account to initiate and complete Your entire car rental transaction.

Here is just some of the not covered:

Personal liability
Injury of anyone, including you, or damage to anything, inside or outside the Rental Vehicle
Depreciation of the Rental Vehicle caused by the incident including, but not limited to, “diminished value”

I hadn't realized it didn't cover damage to other vehicles in an accident or have any coverage for injuries. I don't know what happens in that case, if then your car insurance kicks in? Might be worthy of shooting that question over to your car insurance agent. I'd be curious as to the response as well.

Yes, definitely put a small amount on the CSR. If you end up making a claim, you need to provide a copy of the billing statement showing the charge to the car rental company on your CSR credit card statement in order to prove you have the CSR coverage.

Another car rental question - rates have gone down some and I'm trying to decide what to rebook our June rental to. Does anyone know if you can/how to skip the rental counter when booking through the UR portal? Is it possible? I don't see a way to add a loyalty number when booking, and so I'd need to be able to go into the reservation and add it after I assume. The companies I'm looking at are National, Budget, and Alamo. Alamo's always been my favorite, but of course they're the most expensive. Usually we booked with Costco or directly with the company, but I want to take advantage of having the 1.5 CSR value. Thanks for any input!

In response to my own question from yesterday...ps just got instant approval for a 5th active Ink card. I feel like I am pushing it LOL, but hey, instant approval, I will take it.

I think I will close one or two of the older ones next week. We don't need that many at all.
