We have Versant here in northern Maine; it's the only choice game in town. Just got the bill today and I was IRATE. Here's the breakdown:
Bangor Hydro District (Rate A residential service)
Versant Delivery:
Distribution 884kWh $74.26
Transmission $38.74
Stranded Costs $15.51
Conservation $ 2.72
ME taxes/fees $ 1.09
Versant Delivery subtotal $132.33
Standard Offer Supply Service:
Electricity supply: 315.74kWh $51.90
Electricity supply: 568.29kWh $87.73
Maine sales tax $ 1.16
Supplier Subtotal $140.79
VERSANT DELIVERY & SUPPLIER TOTAL= $273.12
It's $60 higher than last month. The 20-somethings run their window a/c All The Time, at about 65 degrees. Came home the other day to an empty house. They'd been gone all afternoon, a/c cranking, bedroom door wide open, as well as every other door and window on the floor open. That's stopping NOW, even if I have to take the unit out of the window (they are the only ones in the house with a/c).
