Pretty predictable, but I was surprised by a few...

Thoughts?

Here's Quincy's list for those that don't want to watch it. I think she did a decent job. Poly ranks at the top for me personally, but it's so subjective.

I haven’t watched, but having stayed at them all myself, I am very opinionated on them and I generally don’t agree with most. So I’ve learned not to take others opinions seriously. Our favorite is Poly (not surprisingly) and AKL. After staying at all of them- we don’t stay anywhere else now. I’ve tried all and the ones everyone else loves I just don’t. ( Beach club, boardwalk, pop century…etc) I haven’t watched this video but have seen similar.

I’m glad to see Yacht Club ranked so low. It’s horrible. I don’t think any of you will want to stay there. :rolleyes1

Everyone is always going to have their own opinion for sure… this is just their opinion, but it is somewhat based on value, amenities, location, etc.

Rankings like this are so subjective that I don’t bother watching such videos.
Yep, just someone else’s opinion, like most posts in any fan forum.

Yea I don’t remember what she said at the beginning, but it had some merit to their opinions. Based on Amenities, Location, Price, etc.

I always like to hear others opinions about resorts so I’ve seen the video.
For me, a lot of what makes the resort is what I am doing on the trip. If I have a trip heavy with Epcot or DHS the crescent lake resorts rank higher, if it’s MK multiple times the MK resorts win out. We have only stayed at Pop and riverside as non deluxe so don’t know about those. I will say I pretty much love all the resorts and certain resorts will fit everyone differently. I would love to stay at AOA or Movies but since we have dvc I have a hard time swallowing the price tags on those. I priced out our arrival day for spring break at AOA for a LM room and it $330 before tax.

WL and GF are tied for #1 for me. WL wins if we are traveling Nov.-Feb. otherwise is GF. AKL is beautiful but I don’t like to stay so far from everything.

I would rank OKW and SSR much higher if I was staying in at least a one bedroom, had a car and was going to Disney Springs for a lot of meals. Maybe a trip with No or little parks. They are great resorts.

I live here and usually stay one nighters if & when I find a cheap rate .
I will say Hilton Bonnet Creek and the nearby Marriot Bonvoy Bonnet Creek are amazing .
Loews Resorts at Universal outshine Disney everytime including their Value Dockside’s resorts .
And it is an insult to compare the Loews Cabana Bay to POP.
But I love them both .
I just got a cheap rate for the Fort Wilderness Cabin - 1 night Sunday and hope to like it.
Personally I have not watched the video . I waste too much time reading about casual comments on this site!

I agree rankings can be fun and I enjoy reading the lists of members on this site. But why am I supposed to go watch some bloated video from someone not taking the time (or not willing) to write their list on here? No thanks

I don't know this person and couldn't really care less about her ranking. If this were some objective ranking based on amenities, transportation, dining options, there might be some interest in seeing the list of properties, and I know such rankings exist Out There.

My favorite properties are... wait, NO ONE CARES!

The minute (1:05) she said the Disney Springs hotels had perks because they are Good Neighbor hotels I turned it off. If you don't know the basics then you have no credibility.

I don't see the problem? The Good Neighbor Official Walt Disney World® hotels have early entry, normally a perk for on site.

NO they do not.

Good Neighbor hotels get NO perks.

Disney Springs hotels are NOT Good Neighbor hotels.

Someone working for a large Disney site, it is their job to be educated on everything particularly the basics. If they don't take the time to do that then they have no credibility.

Just for clarification, these hotels have early entry:

  • DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando
  • Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista
  • Four Seasons Resort Orlando
  • Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace
  • Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista
  • Holiday Inn Orlando
  • Shades of Green® on Walt Disney World® Resort
  • Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
  • Waldorf Astoria Orlando
  • Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
  • Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
  • B Resort & Spa Lake Buena Vista

Whatever Disney is calling them these days.

And THEY ^ ARE NOT GOOD NEIGHBOR HOTELS.

They have never been and there has been a clear distinction and category - not "whatever Disney is calling them" - for many many years.

The Disney Springs hotels are Official Walt Disney World® Hotels - always have been and continue to be. They are not Good Neighbor AND Good Neighbors get NO perks. Very clear.

The reporter made a gross error - imagine if viewers are going "hey Good Neighbor hotels get early entry" and then are upset when they arrive the hotel or parks and they don't get let in. Bad reporting.

The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are non-Disney-owned hotels that also get early entry. They're shown on the webpage you cited, but not on the list you quoted.

Clear as mud. Either way, there's the list for anyone who didn't understand your original comment.

I've stayed at all except for AoA, Fort Wildreness, & Yacht Club.

My rankings are (of course) different, LOL

Value

(1) Disney’s Pop Century Resort
(2) Disney’s All Star Sports
(3) Disney’s All Star Movies
(4) Disney’s All Star Music
(*) Disney’s Art of Animation Resort -- ** Not Rated

I'm not a fan of ASMu. My favorite, even before the Skyliner was Pop. I really enjoy the sports theme at ASSp, ASMv is just "meh" for me.

Moderates

(1) Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
(2) Disney’s Port Orlean’s French Quarter
(3) Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
(4) Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside
(*) Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort -- ** Not Rated

I detest POR's twisty turny paths in the Alligator Bayou section. I think I might have ranked it higher if I stayed in the Mansion section. I really like the compactness of POFQ and the islands vibe of CBR. Still, CSR is my favorite if just for the pool

Deluxe

(1) Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort (DVC)
(2) Disney’s Beach Club Resort (DVC)
(3) Disney’s Contemporary Resort (both)
(4) Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (both)
(5) Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort (both)
(6) Disney’s Riviera Resort (DVC)
(7) Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort (DVC)
(8) Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort (DVC)
(9) Disney’s Old Key West Resort (DVC)
(10) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (DVC)
(*) Disney’s Yacht Club Resort -- ** Not Rated

I adore the Boardwalk resort area. I've owned DVC at BWV for over 20 years and nothing can beat it. I also really dig the Contemporary and Polynesian. They are so seeped in theming! We also have loved AKL/AKV from our very first stay there. We loved it so much we bought 100 DVC points there to go with our BWV points. The most controversial ranking is probably VGF. I find the GF, even the DVC side, to be way too snooty and uptight for me. If you throw in the ridiculous cash price for rooms and point cost for DVC villas, I can think of just about anywhere else I would rather stay. OK, maybe not the All Stars.

Ironically trying to muddy wasn't me ... :scratchin

My original comment is clear as a bell. The video journalist claimed the Disney Springs hotels (with perks) are Good Neighbor hotels. Clearly stated as fact.

I stated that is is 100% wrong, they are not Good Neighbor and no one should expect those perks from a Good Neighbor because they don't get them.

DISNEY has made it very clear the different categories, and it is a disservice to readers here to further push the wrong information.
