How many national parks have you visited?

I've only made it to 4 so far but I have the same goal as you. I plan to visit the majority of them at some point hopefully.

How many national parks have you visited?

I figure you mean US national parks - my total (currently) is 24.
Doesn't have to be just US national parks.

How many are in your country, and how many have you visited?

I know I have probably visited some in the UK and Italy, UNESCO sites for sure but no way to really remember.

If it's the National Park Service, it's 21, although I suppose Pinnacles wasn't one at the time. And Sequoia and Kings Canyon are run as one unit, but they're theoretically separate national parks. A few I just headed for the visitor center and that was it, like Biscayne. I was planning on a glass-bottom boat ride but that was cancelled when there weren't enough customers.

I'm not really sure outside of the United States. Many don't quite fit into the same categories that the US has and I was on a lot of tours where it wasn't quite clear. But at least one. Many countries choose not to declare an area to be a national park because it might limit commercial development of tourism resources.

Are we talking places like Yosemite? None. If we're including places with 'Park' in the name, I've been to the Gettysburg battlefield. Spent a very interesting weekend there.

40, have to make a plan someday to get to American Samoa.

That's one of those unique ones because all the little voluntary rules that are asked of visitors, such as asking for permission before doing almost anything. Also that they highly discourage certain activities on Sunday because of the influence of Christianity.

I wouldn't think that qualifies. They generally have the the highest natural resource significance along with cultural significance.

Gettysburg is in a different category as an historic battlefield. There are apparently four categories of historic battlefields even though some don't carry "park" in the designation.

There's been some criticisms over certain areas that were given the "national park" designation - like Pinnacles, Hot Springs, and Cuyahoga Valley. And Gateway Arch was kind of a head scratcher.

Seven. That includes two this year, Yosemite two weeks ago and the Grand Canyon in April. Both for the first time. We got a Senior Annual Pass this year.

We have done I think 16. The National Parks are amazing and a true treasure. They are all unique and awe inspiring. I wish every American could see them!

We will be in Acadia in a week or so on a cruise!

OK, I'm in the US, but I've visited several Canadian National Parks. There are 37 Canadian National parks.

I've visited 8 of them (that I can recall off the top of my head):
Banff
Jasper
Kluane
Elk Island
Gros Morne
Forillon
Cape Breton Highlands
Fundy

I haven't been keeping track, might be fun to see. looking at the posted list -

Glacier Bay, Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Everglades, Haleakala and Volcanoes, Yellowstone, Indiana Dunes, Acadia, Cuyahoga Valley, Badlands, Zion, Shenandoah, Olympic, Grand Teton, so that's 16. Wolftrap claims it is a national park. Been to a lot of National Monuments also

Wolftrap is a national park with a special designation. There are other national parks with special designations, such as national historic parks, national military parks and national battlefield parks.

I’ve been to 7:

Acadia
Smoky Mountain
Badlands
Yellowstone
Grand Teton
Rocky Mountain
Gateway Arch (I think that’s a NP)

We are planning a trip to Yosemite next summer.
