Fantasy Springs is opening June 6th 2024

Because I'm now back in the queue to book another package and have 40 minutes to burn, a few notes on my (very lucky, but frankly heroic) 2-night August Fantasy Springs Hotel package booking for those interested...

- After an hour or so of refreshing the Vacation Package page, I was let in the queue at about 2:40p (Japan time) for the 3p release

- Initially my estimated time of entry was 3:01p (at this point I figured I had a shot), which was eventually stretched to 3:02

- I had a couple of other back-up devices going with 3:04/3:05 times (would be nice to have those spots now as I wait), but I fumbled those away once I got focused on this booking

- I had already logged in and pre-populated the reservation request prior to entering the queue - it was still there and I think this helped

- At the time I was actually let in (more like 3:03p at this point), there were Rose Court, Entry side and Bay Side rooms available (no Springs side rooms or Grand Chateau)

- I initially went for a Rose Court Superior Alcove Park View - it went through for like 10 seconds and then I got an error message that the room was no longer available (crushing!) and figured I was destined for a smoking room at the Hilton Tokyo Bay

- Down but not out! I found myself back at the initial screen and grabbed a Rose Court Superior Alcove (standard view), but would it last?!?

- The next several stages were as expected (I had done a prior dummy reservation which I purchased and cancelled so started to find my groove at this point), but with the thrill of agonizingly slow load times. I think once you get to the screen where you're contemplating the ramifications of a 6:30a breakfast, you're at least somewhat locked in.

- Finally I got to the payment screen and the card (a Venture X) I had successfully used before for the dummy booking was already pre-populated, so I figured I was golden. It even got me to verified by Visa and sent me the text message code to confirm (as it did during the dummy), but you guessed it...card denied.

- But again, your boy got up off the mat and kept punching! I was still on the payment screen, so entered a different card (this time an AMEX Platinum) and bamn...verifcation/text code...success

Ok, 20 minutes to go (4:03p entry) for what I hope will be an additional one-night package at Mira Costa. I haven't had this much fun booking something Disney for years! Happy to answer any questions...

You mean you haven’t had this much fun since a colonoscopy🤣 Congratulations!!! How did you prepopulate the booking info? With the checklist? I don’t think I blinked the entire 3-4 hours for something to open while looking at my 4 windows.

I was actually able to book a leading one-night package at the FS hotel for the same room type.

Anyone have an idea if I will be able to stay in the same room? Of course, I’ll ask in advance.

You just have to ask.

Am I interpreting that we can book the dining reservations one day in advance of the general public if you are staying on site for the restaurants inside the parks? I booked Canna and Oceana dinners already. Not sure if I will keep these if we can get some of the more coveted park restaurants. It also looks like the travel packages will allow us to dine in the fantasy spring restaurant in the park but not the new hotel, only if you stay there.
I think it’s only 1 hour. Both my room only and packages say 9am JT 1 month before the checkin date. However, my 3day/2 night package let’s me book 3 days at once. I think multi night hotel is the same.

Before the queue opened, I logged into the site and did a package search for the dates I wanted in August. Of course unavailable at that time, but once the queue let me in, my prior search parameters were still there so saved a few seconds. Not major, but better than nothing…

I do it this way as well, have all of my parameters entered and bookmark the link from there so it takes me directly to the search I want (even sold out). I have several searches bookmarked that I am watching so I just open all the tabs and refresh throughout the day.

Also unclear to me…on the third day of the FS hotel package, the park ticket is for DS but doesn’t include FS. I assume I’ll still be able to use the dedicated entrance and access FS more generally?

I logged in before getting into the queue, but the log in timed out after being in the queue for 3+ hours, so I had to log back in. It didn't seem to save my search though from previous trial runs.

Is this for the FS Hotel? I'm not sure about that one. For the non-FS Hotel packages, you can only access FS on the day with the pass, which is the 2nd day of all packages. Otherwise, on the non-FS pass day with a DisneySea ticket, you can buy DPA or get Standby Pass for the rides.

One interesting thing I was pondering is that for opening day, I believe the only guests with happy entry to DisneySea will be those staying at MiraCosta. Guests staying at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel will be eligible for Happy Entry at Tokyo DisneySea starting June 7, 2024. It does look like ticket sales at the FSH will open at 6AM on the 6th but without happy entry, those who purchased a 1-day passport for opening day will presumably need to wait for regular park opening time to get in. I imagine many FSH guests will just wait until the day of their 1-day passport in their vacation package, rather than rushing to be there early before check-in.

Of course, there is the new entrance directly into Fantasy Springs from the new hotel. I couldn't find any details on whether they will have that entrance open for opening day at park opening or not. They list hotel entry time as 12pm on the 6th, but since they show ticket sales opening at 6AM, I have a feeling they will have the Fantasy Springs specific entrance open at park opening time. It would be pretty rude of them to dangle that entrance in front of hotel guests but not let them in, after all!

So the question will be, how early do I plan to get into the happy entry line on opening day? There's something exciting about the thought of being there (briefly) before it's absolutely full of people! Since it's my first trip to Japan, I don't know my way around the park yet, but I hear it will be a trek to get to the FS area from the entrance. So even if the FSH guests are held back for those 15 minutes, they could conceivably beat me in anyways. Hopefully they will release a bit more information ahead of opening day to help me decide :rotfl:

Edit: So it is still undetermined!
  • Entry time into Fantasy Springs from the Fantasy Springs Entrance and the Grand Chateau Gateway will be announced as soon as it is determined.

A normal visitor like yourself could show up with Happy Entry like 1 hour before the park's scheduled opening. That's because they'll likely plan to open the gates for regular guests 30 minutes early in anticipation of long lines which means Happy Entry starts 45 minutes befoare park opening. Showing up 1 hour before puts you near the back of the pack.

But, I actually think most people skilled enough to book Fantasy Springs Hotel for opening day will rush to be at the parks as early as possible. That was the plan for like 5 of my friends but nobody managed to get a room.

There may even be people who booked Miracosta with no intention of actually sleeping in the room so that they can line up to get into the park. TDR banned overnight queuing since it got too out of control but pre-pandemic, sometimes security allowed lines to form as early as 11PM the night before.

You can also look to see what breakfast times are booked up. The serious but not crazy people will make sure they arrive at the parks just when breakfast is starting at the hotel. If 6:30AM-7AM breakfasts are all booked up, then you know there's a lot of people who plan to eat quickly and line up immediately. If those times are still available but 7AM-8AM breakfast slots are fully booked, then you have a bigger number of casual guests.

I'll have to look again but I had no trouble booking the first breakfast spot at Oceano (6:30) for the 6th when I got my booking last month. Sounds like I should skip it at eat the cost, eh? :hyper: It sounds like no matter how I early I go, I will be behind a lot of people. As long as I can get myself there earlier enough to beat the sea of non-happy entry people. Good thing I'm in good shape in case I have to do a mad dash to Fantasy Springs :rotfl: I'm looking forward to reporting back how opening day goes. That's the best part about solo trips, even if the day itself ends up being a bit of a bust (in terms of getting things done), I'm sure it will be VERY memorable.

We have vacation package at Toy Story Hotel so no happy entry. I'm also not prepared to line up super early with my senior mother and 4 year-old... Does it make more sense for us to take our time with breakfast (is 7am too early/late?) and leisurely make our way down at the posted opening time since we have guaranteed access to FS with the magic passport?

That's what I'll be doing. There's no way that I'm getting up early enough to be there an hour before park open!

I would totally keep the 6:30 Oceano reservation, especially as a solo diner. I think you'd be done in plenty of time to still line up early for Happy Entry. Otherwise you could consider changing it to the latest possible breakfast time and seeing day of if you feel like heading back to the hotel for brunch.

That's a good point. If I wasn't eating breakfast, would I really be lining up for happy entry at 6:30?

Even though I can understand Japanese it's such a shame that TDR is so bad at explaining things in English sometimes. TDR explorer unfortunately is basically the only good resource, although I heard one of the bigger WDW youtubers is moving to Japan soon and plans to do a comprehensive guide for TDR.

This show is awesome! We were lucky enough to get entry request for this last fall but had no idea the theatre is BTAB themed. Wish I had paid more attention to details.
Oh, I could be wrong. I just referred to it as the BATB theatre because its next to the BATB castle and was part of the BATB expansion. I can't recall any explicit theming tying it to BATB, other than the general provincial French village aesthetic.

This indicates its more generally themed to Disney forest animals: https://tdrexplorer.com/mickeys-magical-music-world/

For the 3rd week of June, I looked at the Oceano breakfasts. I think everything before 9 was gone, or maybe everything was gone. We have 6:50, but we eat fast and will just be going to TDS. The park opening is 9am, so I presume HE will be anywhere from 7:45 (probably not from what I hear) to 8:15. We won't be at the front of HE, but we have 4 days and 2 FS passes. We are also willing to buy DPA. After the first breakfast, we may discover our son doesn't like it and just skip it.

That is so interesting! I just checked for 6/6 and now all times are available (I think a couple like 6:40 or 6:50 were gone when I originally booked).

The 1 night package for MiraCosta actually keeps popping up pretty much every day for 6/5 check in. I keep checking as I am hoping to switch my room category from Tuscany to Venice side, no such luck yet.

Don't skip breakfast. There's plenty of time to eat and still make Happy Entry.

I was just saying that when it comes to Tokyo Disney, you should always expect some crazy people ahead of you.

Maybe I will check mine and see if I can move it a bit earlier.

EDIT: We have 3 breakfast days, 2 packages. The first day there is earlier, but the 2nd and 3rd days not. I will keep checking.

As a datapoint: I am right now able to book a 2 night package for Fantasy Springs Hotel on 8/13, Fantasy Chateau Bay Area Side Superior Room, 2 people - $2,850. o_O

The same exact reservation for 1 night = $1700.

I think the math checks out exactly if you break down the package components, tickets, priority passes, etc... for each.

Even MiraCosta view rooms are available for this date with a package. 1 night package = $2250

Not sure why people are shocked by the prices, it's a Disney resort. The Disney resorts have always been substantially more expensive than any other hotel just like anywhere else. I even think the Maihama first hotel might be the best secret option for a hotel personally. But really to stay there, you have to know Japanese since there's not really any English speaking staff there.
