Hi,

Is there a new rule that says that you can't use your $25 membership credit and your $25 birthday credit on the same meal?

I was thinking about signing up for the card, since we're going in August and it will be the week of my husband's birthday. If I'm not allowed to do that, then I'm thinking it wouldn't make sense to get the card. I would be paying $25 to get $25 back, hence no benefit.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don’t think it’s new, but you can’t combine the two rewards (I checked into that too).

While, in theory you wouldn’t get any $ benefit on the first visit, you still get the skip the line benefit. And any future visits, especially around birthdays, would give you the $25 reward.

Remember that Landry owns more that Y&Y. You can also use those credits against merchandise or a meal at Rainforest Cafe and other Landry properties in a separate visit, or just go to Y&Y twice to use up the credits.

Personally, I think the "skip the line, no reservation needed" benefit is worth $25. That they give you $25 as a welcome credit is just icing on the cake.

Got the card several years ago, and it is well worth the initial $25 investment--has saved us some money, but as previous poster noted, it is worth it just for the "front of line" feature. I am not generally a big fan of lugging around rewards cards, but this is one I always stick in my wallet when traveling.

From the Landry's Club FAQs:
Rewards are redeemed in the order they were earned. Restaurants do not have the option of selecting which reward to redeem from a members account. The Welcome reward will automatically be applied on the member's first visit to the restaurant following registration. Birthday Rewards cannot be redeemed on a visit in conjunction with a Welcome Reward redemption.

At DW Landry's also operates Rainforest and T-Rex so you could use the birthday reward there. As others have said, the best perk for a very busy place like DW is not having to worry about making a reservation or waiting for a table. The "front of the line" means being seated before anyone having a reservation. Your wait time will be determined only by how many others ahead of you are also using their Landry's card.

How long does it take to receive the card once you join? Trying to figure out if I’ll have time to join and receive the card by mid August for our trip.

I was also undecided on the card but I'm going to go for it this trip. I don't want to make many ADRs this trip so it's worth the benefit just to skip the line. Especially since I find AK to be a hotter park and when we need a break it'll be nice to just be able to do a walk up at Y&Y. I will use my birthday reward in our area since we have several restaurants that accept the card.

Quick question: We really enjoy Y&Y QS. Particularly the fried rice and egg rolls. Are these the same quality inside or are they better?

If you have ANY of the Landry's restaurants in your area you can get a card in person at those. I live in Pittsburgh and picked mine up at a McCormick & Schmicks a few weeks before heading down. I didn't eat there, just called to make sure I could stop in and pay to join the club and get a card :)

And I loaded the app on my phone so I don't have to carry the card around. And your rewards will show right in the app.

I'm pretty sure I don't live by any of their restaurants - but we have ADRs at Yak & Yeti and T-Rex, so it's basically a free $25 to put toward our meals.... just aren't sure how'd I go about getting it by August 15.

You just sign up online and show them your memeber # on your phone. That's what I do.

The site says you get your card in ten days.

I misread the title of this thread and thought that I might be able to get my clothes washed at Yak and Yeti now!!!

$25 spent to get $25 off my bill is well worth the "right this way!" I hear when I check in at any Landry's restaurant!

Honestly, it does make sense, you get the $25 off your bill for getting the card, then every year you get $25 to spend at any participating Landry's location, which includes, but is not limited to: Buba Gump, Claim Jumper, Cheescake Factory, Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex Cafe, the list goes on and on.

But no, you can't combine multiple credits and you can't combine the credit with any other discount. The other advantage is the priority seating though.

We are eating at yak and yeti and t-Rex. I would put the card in my husbands name because his birthday is in August. So, if I understand this correctly, we’d get $25 at one restaurant and then $25 at another. Correct? One would be the initial credit, the other would be the birthday credit. Right?
