“Frozen Ever After Dessert Party” with Fireworks Viewing and After-Close Attraction Ride

Was this party going on last year during the F&WF? We were there in Sept (Hi, Irma) but I don't recall this was going on. If it was, that gives hope for the F&GF as well as F&W this year. We'll be there again Sept 1 - 11, and we're hoping for this party.

Good question. The FEA party was not taking place yet during last years F&G, but the backup location for the party that was taking place, the Illuminations Sparkling dessert party, used "The Odyssey" when it rained or was too cold.

I don't know if the FEA's regular weather backup location, "The Norway Loft" was used or will be used during this years's F&GF for any events, I'd have to look it up. If it was, or will be, and if the FEA party does take place during the F&GF, a different weather backup will be used, probably the World Showplace. Did I confuse you enough?

No. See post from FastPasser above

Maybe they are planning a new F&G themed party instead, but I will say that the lack of hitting FEA after Illuminations would not go well with DW if that is the case.

And is it just me or does everyone else hit this thread right away when it keeps popping to the top of the boards every time someone responds? If you are one of those, my sincere apologies for getting your hopes up that new dates had opened up.

No. See post from FastPasser above

Thanks. If you read my post, my question was actually "Was this party going on last year during the F&WF?". Not the Flower and Garden Festival. I know it wasn't going on last year in the spring. Just wondering if the FALL festival might have affected the scheduling of this particular fireworks viewing party, as that may have an impact on the scheduling now.

Now that we're home from our trip, I wanted to pop in to thank you, @FastPasser. , for introducing yourself at the FEA party and stopping by our table to chat. It was beyond lovely to finally meet you. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We loved the party. Our view was perfect. The party location, food, and drinks were great. The seating was much appreciated. The ride after the show was a wonderful ending to a fun day. This party ended up being my favorite of the three we tried. My husband and daughter still prefer the SW party, but FEA is a close second for them. Your department needs to also take over the HEA party. Sending our very best wishes to you and hoping our paths meet again one of these days.

Anythings possible.

If they do end the FEA party as it now exists, a factor will be the FEA attraction. The the most tense part of the event for the staff is, will it or will it not be operating.

The F&WF did not affect the scheduling of the FEA party last year.

Thank you, and meeting you and your great family was the highlight of my night. Your bubbly personality set the tone for the rest of my night.

Glad everything went well at the party. I was concerned earlier in the day about the temperatures, but it wasn't too bad.

Could have been a twofer, but unfortunately I missed you at the SW party by one day.

So sorry, we'd been talking F&G and that's what my mind read.
Yes, it was running for F&W last year
And, as PP said, even the old event was running during F&G in the past (for years actually, as that old event ran for a long time)
So having a festival going is no indication that it is a reason for them to NOT have this event scheduled.

I think this makes sense. I can imagine that the staff have had to deal with some not so happy campers if there is no Frozen ride to be had at the end of the night. I know some people book this, in part, so that they don't have to use up one of their FP's on FEA. I can only imagine how difficult some people might become under such circumstances.

I've been waiting for this to open up for March 7 and I'm still holding out hope. I did book a FEA FP and even if the party goes forward, I'll keep the FP. I've only ridden the ride once and I'm not sure when I'll return after this trip. My plan is to go to EMH at MK from 8-10pm if the party doesn't happen so I'll be okay either way. I really wanted to surprise my DD18 with this dessert party though! I love Illuminations and haven't seen it for a while because she doesn't care too much for it. I know she'll be fine with it if it includes Frozen themed desserts and an extra ride on FEA! :) Win-Win!

I definitely understand people's frustration if the ride isn't running, but I do think the staff handle the situation pretty well when that occurs (or at least they did on the night we went). FEA was down so they were going to escort everyone to Soarin instead. Anyone who had a problem stayed back to talk to CMs. I don't know what others were offered, but we were given fast passes for FEA for another day. Thankfully, we were going to be in Epcot on another day. We were also told that we could still ride Soarin in addition to getting the FEA fastpass, but that seemed a little too much like double dipping to me so we declined. Plus, the reason we had an issue in the first place with the ride switching to Soarin was we had our too-short toddler with us who wouldn't be able to ride. I didn't want him to miss out while we all went on one more ride and I didn't even know if they'd be able to accommodate some sort of rider swap situation like that after the park was closed.

Anyway, I'd be really sad if they changed the party up. It was one of my DH's favorite parts of the trips. All of ours really, but it's saying something for my not-so-into-Disney DH to have really enjoyed it.

I wonder how often FEA has been down on the night of the party? I know it was down a lot when it first opened but thought it was up much more regularly now. No?

It's doing much, much better than it was at the beginning, but if it happens once a week for the party, which it has, that's 25% of the parties and that's way too much.

That stinks! That must make the party stressful for you guys, worrying if it will work & if people would get upset!

Are the people that typically get mad people with young kids that can’t ride soarin or who do it on their last night so can’t go back with a fast pass?

More so for the leader on duty that night.

I don't think I could limit it to one group, but you may be right.

Well, if they're not going to do the Frozen dessert party, maybe there will be a Flower and Garden dessert party.

We originally had reservations for two people (since then this date has sold out). DD and grandson decided to join us. Checked everyday frequently and finally was able to book two more spots. Only problem it wouldn't let me book without wanting to cancel my original reservation for two. So, I booked it through my DD's MDE. Now we have two different reservation #s for two parties of two. I called twice (waited at least 25-30 minutes for a CM each time, disconnected the first time) to ask if the two reservations could be combined or made into one somehow. CM told me NO. I asked if she could make a note on reservation that we are ALL together. She told me NO. She said there is no assigned seating and we could just sit together. Is she correct or do they have tables assigned to guests in advance?

Thanks for any information!

I don't know if it has changed, but when we went at the end of August, tables were assigned. I would think that someone would be able to merge the reservations. Unless, due to the various party sizes of all attendees there is no room for 4 together at a table, but there is for two groups of 2 separately. If they are still reserved, I definitely wouldn't wait to sort it out until you get there, as they probably won't be able to change anything then.
