I'm absolutely bored, and recently ran into some CPs who were absolutely clueless on this matter, so why not help spread the word?

As the New Year approaches, many Fall Disney Program Participants at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California may be thinking about future opportunities, both within the Walt Disney World Company as well as in other areas of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies. There are now several options available to Participants to consider.

The most important note is aimed at Disneyland Resort Participants. Those Participants not interested in pursuing any of these options must take action to seperate from the Walt Disney World Company by giving notice to their Leadership team at least two weeks prior to their Program End Date. Unlike the Walt Disney World Resort, California-site Participants are not automatically seperated at the end of their programs. As such, failure to provide proper notice will result in the Participant being terminated with a "No" Rehire Status, for abandonmment of position.

Extensions
Fall and Fall Advantage Disney College Program and Disney Career Start Program Participants at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with departure dates in January, 2010 who are not ready to say Good Bye as their programmes come to an end are invited to apply to extend into another Disney College Program or Disney CareerStart Program Session.

Selected Participants would have a new departure date of 14 May 2010. Please remember that Walt Disney World Company policy prohibits Florida-Site Participants from participating in Student Programmes (defined as the Disney College Program, Disney CareerStart Program and Disney Professional Internship Program) for more than a period of one consecutive year.

Please note that Extension Opportunities are limited, and preference will be given to those choosing to stay in their current area. Culinary Program Participants should contact College Recruiting to discuss their options. At this time, participants on most non-Cultural Representative Disney International Program contracts are not eligible to extend.

Interested Participants should refer to The Hub for more information on how to apply. Applications will be accepted now through November 14.

Extension Opportunities exist in the following Disney College Program roles:
  • Participant's Current Location/Role
  • WDWCP Attraction H/H
    • Attraction Operations
    • Main Entrance Operations (Park Greeter, Parking, Ticket Operations/Water Park Guest Services)

Please note that the Disneyland Resort in California does not generally offer Disney College Program or Disney CareerStart Program Participants extensions.

General Employment Opportunities

Disney College Program and Disney CareerStart Program Participants at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida are invited to apply for Full Time, Casual Regular and Casual Temporary positions once their program has completed.

All applications are handled through Internal Casting and are regarded as Hourly Transfers, to be judged on the same basis as Transfer Applications from our Regular-Status Cast. Applicants must meet Transfer Guidelines, consisting of the following:
  • No more than 5 Attendance (Late, Call In, Call Sick, No Call No Show) Notations on the Supervisor's Record Card (not to include Authorised Days Off (ADO) and Early Shift Releases (ROS)) within the past six months.

At this time, the Walt Disney World Company does not offer housing to non-internship Cast Members. Applicants should have a reliable means of transportation to and from the Walt Disney World Resort, regardless of shift start and end times.

Interested Participants should schedule an appointment with Walt Disney World Resort Casting Services no sooner than six weeks before their Program End Date. Please contact Casting Services on (407) 828-1000 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Full Time Positions are paid a competetive wage and receive a full range of benefits as part of the Disney Difference. In most Hourly Guest Service positions, they must maintain a minimum of 32 paid hours per week, including Paid Vacation and Sick Leave.

At this time, no available CT positions have been posted by the Walt Disney World Resort. However, Participants interested in transferring to a CT role in another role should nevertheless contact Casting Services, as there may be non-posted positions available.

General Employment Opportunities - Disneyland Resort

At the Disneyland Resort, Disney College Program and Disney CareerStart Program Participants who wish to "roll over" into a Casual Regular position with the Resort should complete and submit a CR Conversion Application to Cast Scheduling. Please note that CR status requires Full Availability after 1800 on Fridays, as well as Full Availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and during all Peak Seasons.

Participants who do roll over with lose their CP Seniority. Their new Seniority date will be determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement in place in their Line of Business.

DLR Participants wishing to convert into a Full Time role should monitor their area for Full Time Opportunity Postings and submit an application to convert, which will be considered according to CBA Requirements. Participants wishing to maintain their status while doing this should convert to a CR role.

Please note that RFT Roles require Full Availability, and must maintain a minimum average of 30 paid hours per week.

DLR Participants wishing to convert into a Casual Temporary role should submit a Drop Status form to Cast Scheduling.

Please note that CT roles are only scheduled to work during Peak Seasons.

Campus Representative

Disney College Program Participants are invited to apply for the Campus Representative role, in which they will partner with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts College Recruiting to promote the program on their home College Campuses.

Participants at the Walt Disney World Resort should visit http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com/ and click the "Alumni" section for more information and to apply. Participants at the Disneyland Resort should follow the process which will be outlined in their Disney Education Classes.

Thanks a lot for this! I know there are many of us out there who are hoping to go full time once the season is over (for the spring for me). Your post is the first positive post towards something like this.

One question, what does the H/H mean?

Have a great day!

Is it the same process if I want to transfer to another park full time, for example say I finish a CP at WDW and I'd like to transfer to DL full time, how does that work?

That's a tad bit more complicated. The gist of the process is that you would have to physically go to the other resort's Casting Services Center in Florida or California, get hired, and they'll take care of the paperwork.

I assume you would have to do it within the same timeframe as converting to a WDW regular role, within the last several weeks of your programme.

The Disneyland Resort doesn't generally hire in Full Time Cast Members, it occurs from time to time, but most Full Time positions are filled internally.
