hey aussietravellers -- thanks for reading along. so sorry to hear about your card dramas. i found it really embarassing and frustrating, especially when we had plenty of $$$ available and they treated us like we were broke or something. lol. i guess they get scammed by people too though, so by the time we got home, i could look back on it and brush it off as a small inconvenience, but at the time i was hopping mad!!
serendipity 3 was awesome. i missed it in nyc, but i've heard their storefront there is quite small and 'intimate' sized -- ie nyc speak for tiny
the one at caesar's palace is quite large, a full sized restaurant, so to speak. they have a takeaway window where you can order your food to go, or you can do table service in the restaurant. we probably should have taken it to go, as it would have been cheaper, but it was nice to sit & eat indulgent & calorie-laden food and just people watch on the strip
the footlong hotdog was nice, but the burgers were truly gorgeous, trina's pepper-vodka pasta with proscuitto was amazing and the desserts and frozen hot chocolate were to die for. hope you get to experience it either in the original or the vegas version!! no reservations were required when we went, we just walked up, requested a table, then after about a 20min wait, we were seated. service was prompt.. not too fast, so you have plenty of time to peruse their whole menu (and it's huge and fully of yumminess, so sometimes it's hard to decide) but from time to order to delivery was probably only 15 mins, if that.
when we go back to the states in 2013 (carlo wants to go to star wars weekend) we'll be making a quick stop through nyc and serendipity is def on the to do list
