Just wanted to update you all on what is happening with Robins mom.
This past weekend her mom had pain in her head (unrelated to the surgery) and mobility problems. Robin took her to the emergency room, and after spending 6 hours there, they sent her home. On Monday, they went to see her mothers General Practitioner. After a CAT scan they were told that her mother had a mass at the base of her brain which was causing pressure and in turn pain and balance problems. At this point they told them that it could be anything from a calcium deposit to a benign tumor. Needless to say Monday and Tuesday were tough and scary days for Robin and her mom as they waited for specialists to review the additional tests they ran on her mom.
Today brought better news. They have determined that Robins mom had a blood vessal burst at the base of her brain, and although it is serious, they feel they can reduce it and control it for now. Her DR has authorized Robins mom to be placed in a wonderful round the clock care and physical therapy facility for the next few weeks in DelRay Beach. This was important as these things can be difficult to make happen with the way insurance co's are these days, and necessary as Robin fully supports her mother, has no siblings or relatives that can help and needs to work for both of them.
I know that she has drawn great strength from the thoughts and prayers of her friends here on the boards and sounds much better today. Although she realizes that this is a complicated situation, I can tell she is relieved to know what is going on with her mom and what course of action they will take.
