Any reason to buy a package?

We are planning to spend 3 days at Universal this summer, and will book 1 night at a hotel in order to get EP for a couple of days. It appears that we can save a decent amount if we book e-tix through UT and then book the hotel room only through Universal. Is there any reason/advantage to having a package, or does it make just as much sense to book them separately as described?

It almost always makes more sense to book things separately.

From price being the same or cheaper to do it separately, to being able to cancel if something comes up without any penalty.

Usually not... as said, much better cancellation policy with room only... and for multi day tickets there are better discounts through 3rd party sellers.

Packages are more for people who don't want to put the work in to doing it themselves and end up paying more.

A package through Costco is worth investigating though if have membership there.

Right now there is a "Bundle package" but it applies to packages with 3 park tickets. Can save up to $75 I believe.
