We are going in July and would like to stay at the Monte Carlo. Our one concern is that big complex they are building next door. Is it near completion? I'd hate to have to hear all that construction going on.

I was there in January, and I stayed at the NYNY, which is next to Monte Carlo. We walked by that big construction project a few times, and it's nowhere near completion. I don't recall hearing a lot of construction noise, but we weren't staying right next door. When you check in, maybe you can request a room away from the construction. :confused3

You're refering to the City Center complex they are building which is scheduled to open phase 1 in 2009 and completely open in 2010. So no, it's no where near done.

I see them working on it all hours of the day and night but really couldn't tell you anything about the noise level inside the Monte Carlo rooms.

If you go to tripadvisor and read the first few reviews, you'll see that for some the noise wasn't an issue at all, and for others, it was a major problem. So I'm guessing it all depends on the room you are in.

I'd definitely call and ask for a room on the side farthest from where they are working.

Have fun!!!

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to check out Tripadvisor now. And I will definitely be requesting a room away from the construction!
Thanks for the help!

Because of the recent fire, the MC has been offering some fantastic deals to drum up business.

I stayed at the Monte Carlo the first week of March, and we didn't hear any construction noise at all. We got a suite for free- Lance Burton tickets too. I hadn't stayed at the MC for several years, but dh had for work last year. It was really nice. Although I didn't win any money...:sad1:

You'll have a good time!

I stayed at the Monte Carlo last May and had a room on the side of the construction overlooking the pool and the construction area. Haven't had such a miserable stay anywhere in a long time!! The construction goes on 24 hours and the equipment is constantly beeping when they back up as well as listening to other general construction noise. I think you'll be fine as long as you are on the opposite side of the hotel and I would insist upon it.

Otherwise the Monte Carlo was a nice place.

We are also going to Vegas June 30 -July 4 and we are staying at MGM. I found a code for $79.99 a night at vegas-hotels-online.com. I booked directly with MGM using the MGM Grand Exclusive code. Total cost including taxes was $346.00. We stayed there last here in July for our honeymoon and really enjoyed the pool area.
